Wildflowers with Linocut background

I recently did a linocut class at Market Place Print Studios, opened recently by our Emily and her partner, Jack.   I thought I could use the skill to make my own backgrounds and images.  It was such a great class, Jack was a brilliantly calm tutor and not at all dismissive of the background image that I made.  I felt my fellow course attendees produced far more accomplished linocuts to use for card printing but I did have a different end product in mind. 

The above shows the cards we made,  (I did some second generation printing for the one in the above picture).  I've then used Sizzix and Marianne Designs Wildflower dies to continue with the rustic theme and feel quite pleased with the finished card now!!

You can find out more about Market Place Print Studio here in Cockermouth, they're offering all sorts of classes and instruction.  It was also Emily's first time of lino cutting and look what she made with her finished stamp - love, love, love her beautiful  block printed butterfly bag. (Pic from a Maker's Market they did last weekend.)

Hopefully, I'll get back into the swing of posting on here - as I've stepped back from all my team stuff, I've lost the momentum but it has been lovely not to have to work to deadlines or use specific products.

PFM Baby It's Cold Outside

Well I think our new challenge theme at Passion for Markers is bang on the money today- it sure is cold outside!  So this cute image from our sponsor, the Paper Shelter, is perfect!

I've used some Marianne papers  and tree and grass dies to add to the wintery scene.

And I love the teeny sentiments which have been in my stash and age!

I've used my favourite blue colour combo with my Copics  - B28, B26 and FB- love this flourescent blue!

PFM Anything But a Birthday

This is my card for our new challenge over at Passion for Markers with a great theme of Anything But A Birthday.  Makes a change from the Christmas cards!  This is a Celebration card but could be used for a birthday too.

A retro Birthday card

This is the card I made for son Harry at the end of August.  He loves going off on adventures and travels and is an amazing photographer.  He's off in a few days to do the North Coast 500 in Scotland.  Nick and I did it a few years ago and it was stunning.

So my card uses a starburst background  from Kokorosa Dies - I've used retro colours  as these are the colours Harry loves.   The little die cuts are from Marianne Designs and the sentiment is from a really old set, called Clearly Wordsworth from Rubber Soul

PFM Christmas in September

Can you believe it - almost the hottest day of the year and we're doing Christmas!!   But, when you're using cute images like this from Colour of Love, what's not to love!

Passion for Markers Holidays Challenge

Good morning bloggers!

  It's my turn in the hostess chair (sadly no cocktail in hand!) over at Passion for Markers this week and I've chosen a theme of holidays.  It can be any sort of holiday - summer, Christmas, adventure - whatever sort of holiday you like!

The papers I've used are from a really old Recollections 12x12 pad and I've used a gorgeous new die set from Marianne Designs  with this fab deckle edge - it's called Stamp Frames COL1532.  I then added a postcard stamp sentiment form Tim Holtz and the Wish you were Here is another Marianne item from the Wishes sentiment set , CS1079

First Christmas Card with July release Marianne products

Woohoo my first Christmas card of 2023 - well, for my own personal cards!  I absolutely  love this Winter Rectangle die which is part of the July release from Marianne Dies.  I've used it with Colour Core paper and sanded it gently to reveal the white core.  It was a great card to make - quite simple but I love the snowman die and stamp too - will be making a few more of these, I think.  Full list of products below.
