Passion for Promarkers - Sporting Marvels

Hello peeps!!  Thank you to all the lovely birthday cards and birthday wishes for yesterday - it was so lovely to come home to!  We had a brill time in Italy just chatting and eating and it was great to come home to a meal cooked by my girls!!  I'll try and get round to visiting all your lovely blogs and the cards I've missed this week.
Onto my card and this is for our new challenge this week at Passion for Promarkers- Sporting Marvels as chosen by our fabbie Denise who keeps us all organised and on the ball!!!
I've used this awesome Strongman image from Mo's Digital Pencil - her Carnvial set- isn't he just the perfect specimen!!!  I've matched up with some Stampin Up paper that has this old carnival advert style text which goes rather well!  The red ticketing is cut from some new Lille Seven Gypsies 12x12 papers bought from The Artful Splodger- gorgeous papers they are!!!
I loved this challenge, thanks Denise, - it was a perfect chance to make one of those tricky male cards, although the girls can be marvels too!! The PFP girlies have made some fab cards to share with you so do go and have a peek at the challenge blog.  Hope that you can join us too and get yourself in with the chance to win four lovely stamps from Sugar Nellie, our brill sponsors this week!
Off to get ready for work now, short week so won't groan too loudly!!!

Basic Grey 45 and CES 38 Challenges with a double dose of Sassiness!

Happy Saturday - hope you're happy and hope I am too!  This should post whilst I'm sunning myself with my fab M&S friends in Italy!!    It's a double card post today for the latest challenges at Basic Grey and CES challenges.

I've used a couple of the new Simply Sassy images released recently and this one is Boho Chic and I thought she was perfect for our Shabby Chic theme for the Basic Grey challenge this time around.  I've coloured her with my PMs and Copiscs and then used paper from the Basic Grey Curio pad.  I was sort of trying to make the embossed layers behind her look like clouds and the sun-  hhmmm - but it looks pretty anyway!

This is the first time that I've used this cut- out word from the Tim Holtz Movers and Shapers range - love them!!

I've coloured the seam binding with my Promarkers to get the colour I wanted and the flowers are from a mixture of places including Crafty Emma's and Wild Orchid.
Hope you can join in with us - there's the usual prize from our wonderful sponsor, Simon Says - a $25 dollar voucher for their store.
Simon Says Stamp $25 Credit Voucher

Check out the awesome creations from the BG DT girlies - you will not be disappointed!!

Onto my CES card where the challenge for this week is embossing as set by the uber talented Jane at CES.

Another sassy, this time Vintage chic, and again coloured with my PMs and a touch of Copics! I embossed the edge of my nestie die when I cut her out and then left her in the frame while I dusted some distress ink around her - used my fab  bristtle brushes for this as I did for the BG card above - using them more and more now.

I then embossed the panel at the top with this with this rose design and again dusted with distress ink!  The papers are Webster's Pages and the lace is Webster's Trim - all bought from Emma's fab store!  You can also get the flower and pins from there.
Another Tim Holtz Word - and there you have it!

Emma is offering a £10 voucher to spend in her store so hope you can join us.

The truly lovely ladies at CES have made some truly lovely DT cards, so go and show them some love!!
Have a wonderful weekend!

So we've all come together to celebrate in style and have a mega challenge, with mega prizes up for grabs.  The theme for this week's challenge is All the Two's, appropriately, so your card should feature two of something!! Gosh, that's some haul isn't it!!
On to my card, and I've used this wonderful Tilda image which I stamped up at matey Lesley's at our last play date!!!

My papers are Prima Sweetness papers, purchased from Crafty Emma's who's one of our sponsors this week. The little memo pin is by Tim Holtz which was purchased from my long-time on-line buddy and cyber sister, Laura's new store The Artful Splodger. The pom -pom border was also from there with the lace coming out of my stash.  The little metal filigree piece was from  Linda at The Funkie Junkie who gets hold of these little pieces of gorgeousness in the US and sells some on for us all to enjoy!!

The flowers are from a variety of sources including Emma's and Wild Orchid.

And just a sideways view to finish off!!   Don't forget to checkout the fabulous samples made from all the PFP girls this week.  Have fun!!

Sketch N Stash No 62

Yes sadly it's Monday but happily, it's time for our new challenge at Sketch N Stash.  This week's sketch has been designed by our uber lovely Angie and here it is - isn't it fab!!
We have two sponsors this week, which means double bubble prizes!! The first Sponsor is Stamp and Create who are offering a $25 voucher to spend at their store!

Secondly we have the fabby Kenny K and you will get five digi images of your choice from the brill selection they have!

As you can seen I've used a wonderful Kenny K image, again going with blues which I've used rather a lot recently, who knows why!!
I think I printed her out rather on the large side but that's the beauty of digi stamps, you can size them to suit you!!  I've coloured her with my PMs then used this rather bold Basic grey paper but seems to suit her!!  My newest item is the the Nestie eyelet edge set, the ribbon and chipboard is from stash and the sentiment is  from an Autumn Leaves set that I've had a while!!

The girls on the DT have got some wonderful cards to share with you, so don't forget to check them out here.
Hope your Monday is bearable and your week too!!

CES Challenge - Embellish it!!

Morning - the sun is shining out there today, thank goodness as my two girls have gone off to do a boot fair to raise funds for a festival they want to go to in the summer!!! Fingers crossed they do well!!  Me, I'm have my feet mollycoddled and my hair trimmed in readiness for my Italian adventure next week!!
Firstly though, it's Saturday which means our next challenge at CES Challenges.  This week's theme has been chosen by our fabby Kaylou and it's Embellishing - use at least 3!  That's like music to my ears as I love embellies but having finished my card, it actually lookes quite restrained!!!
A friend from work has just had a baby boy so I used this too cute Lili of The Valley image and layered it up very simply on the Wild Rose Studio Polka Dots paper and a bit of gingham, using the HOTP paper as my matting paper as the coloured matched so perfectly.  Both the Wild Rose and HOTP are from Crafty Emma's as are the Baker's Twine, the ribbon, Card Candy, Dew Drops, the Tacky glue and the Promarkers!
Even these cute little buttons are available there - pictures a bit blurry but think you have to see them closer to see how cute they are!!  Think I managed three types of embellishments!!
The little sentiment tag is from Kay and Co, btw.  The girls that make up the brilliant CES DT team have got some wonderfully embellished makes to show you so pop on over and enjoy.
Enjoy the sunshine too if you have some, or at least have a great weekend!

Our next challenge at Colour Create - No 71

Ok, just where are the weeks going!!  It'll be Christmas before we know it at this rate, and I'm not ready!!  I'm working in a constant mess in my little craft room as I just don't have time to clear it up  - it's very much push it back and pile it up at the minute!
Back to Colour Create and this is the picture as chosen by our lovely Sylvia, Great room - but who's been sleeping in my bed?
19 May - Challenge 71 - Sylvia
Looks like it was Mama Bear judging by my card as I've used this fabulous Teddy Bea digi image.  It's just reminded me of when my Holly was little and used to sing the Three Bear rapping song at primary school - ahhh, time  goes by too fast!!
Anyhoo, the colours are Brown, Cream and White with one other colour. As always we have an optional extra for you - buttons and flowers for this challenge.
As you can see, I've gone with pink as my extra colour, and used lots of buttons and flowers.  The little crochet flowers were an NEC purchase and the other petals were from Crafty Emma's.  My Magnolia Doily lace die has been lost to me forever, sob, so I punched a strip of white paper with  a Martha Stewart Doily lace punch and edged the image with this.  I also repeated this with one of the flowers to make a lacy petal which looks quite sweet.  The leaves are a Crealie Die which I got from Joanna Sheen,  Oh and I think the papers were Basic Grey but my desk is to much of a mess to be sure!!!
My super-talented teamies  at Colour Create have got some wonderful makes and cards to share with you so pop on over. This is a fabulous neutral colour combo too, and with the addition of one colour of your choice, I'm sure we going to see some fabulous entries into the challenge.  We've got a great sponsor too -  High Hopes Rubber Stamps with a fab prize of the stamps below!!

As always, I'm struggling with commenting - please say I can give up work!!.  Still it does pay for this addiction even if it doesn't get the commenting done!  Take care and I hope to catch up with you soon.

My daughter's birthday card

Hi all!  This is my card for my daughter Holly's 23rd birthday which was at the weekend.   I used this gorgeous Crafts and Me digi image and framed her using the scrolled edging of a beautiful piece of 12x12 paper that has been in my stash for years.  I think it suits the curls in her hair rather well!

Holly was a music student at the Brit school and has the most fabulous voice  and loves her music, hence the theme.  The image also reminded me of her with her blonde curly hair!!  Papers are Stampin Up, and the wooden Music and notes were from The Craft Barn.  I painted them with Acrylic and used Viva Decor metallic paints to gild the edges of my card and the wooden embellies!
The flowers are cut from Crinoline fabric, with the Tattered Florals die from Tim Holtz.  I've then spritzed them with Lavender field Glimmer Mist to give this gorgeous purply blue.
And a pic of my gorgeous girl herself!!

Thanks for stopping by, that's all for now!!
