Passion for Markers Die challenge

Hi folks

I was helping out in Holly's shop this morning so I'm a bit late sharing this card, which is for our new challenge at Passion for Markers - our lovely Lorraine has chosen a great theme of use die cuts, right up my street.
We also have a new sponsor for PFM - Alex Syberia Designs and we were able to choose one of their fab images to work with - I just love this gnome line up -it's called Valentine Gnomes Slimline panel but I think it is also perfect for sending anyone a cheer up/thinking of you card - especially with this sentiment from Inkadinkadoo.

Of course there's a few Marianne Designs products used which I've listed below. The Rainbow papers are so pretty!.

Marianne Products Used

Rainbow Paper set - PK9175
Tag Die - CR1510
Grass Die - CR1335
DL Stitched Frame Die Set - CR1537

Other products used - the Sun die is from Lawn Fawn and the clouds are Memory Box.

The lucky winner of this week's challenge will win a £10 voucher to spend in their digital store so do come and join in - just remember to tell us what markers/pens you've used.
All my teamies at PFM have used an image from Alex so check them out here - gorgeous makes!

Freida Kahlo No 2

Another Freida Kahlo card and a bit of Mixed Media - I have two S-I-Ls who are both Freida fans.
An inky background with Distress Inks and Oxides and a little water colouring on top with Arteza brushes The stamp is from Craft Stash and I think the sentiment was a magazine freebie.
You can see my earlier make with this stamp set here,

Have a great weekend.

New Marianne products for January

I made this card today to showcase this beautiful flourishy, foliage die released by Marianne Designs this month.  I also made a couple of background mats use some leaf stamps that I heat embossed with translucent embossing powder and then sprayed with Distress Oxide sprays.  However, as you can see I then proceed to cover most of this up but still like the overall effect.  I do love the barely there oval behind the foliage which I stamped with Spun Sugar Distress Ink pad- it's so soft but gives a gently frame for the stem.

Full list of stash used below.

Rectangle foliage frame die - LR0788 -  NEW!
Silhouette oval background stamp - CS1123 - NEW!
Foliage Stem stamp - CS1117
Text Label die set - CR1605

Crochet Bags

I've been busy making these bags out scrap yarn (well initially) and made four before Christmas for presents and this one is my latest for myself.   I followed this free pattern here on My Poppet Makes and also got some help from FB!  They're a lovely thing to make of an evening as it doesn't take much concentration - the whole thing is worked in a spiral.  And once you get the pattern basics, you can pretty much make all sorts of containers.

The one above was for Harry and the one below for Emily.  As you can see these all turned out slightly differently!!

The one below was for Holly and I think I didn't follow the measurements correctly but it still looks nice with a pot in it!

And I hadn't intended to make one for Violet but she saw the first one I made and asked for it, hence the first one at the top of this post is my latest for me!!

Holly has asked if I could make some smaller bowl sized ones for her shop so watch this space!

Whale Card - Emily

This is my birthday card for Emily who loves the sea, water and dolphins and whales!  I made the background first with a bit of spritzing of distress spray pains, then added some Gesso through a Lavinia mask.  Added a few Lavinia fish stamps and then cut out the matt with a Marianne DL Distress Edge die - CR1569.

Can't believe my baby is 28 years old now!xx

Paddington Bear

I made this card for my daughter's partner, Jack.  I chose this Paddington stamp, partly because Emily had bought me the stamp, and also because Jack was running the toy museum.  Turns out he loves Paddington Bear and had watched the film on the day before his birthday!  Of course I knew that!

I've coloured him with Copics and just kept the design CAS.  And, I know his name is Paddington but I didn't have a rail ticket stamp with that name!

Got to do my tax return this week, so trying to get a few other jobs out of the way before I get stuck in!  Bleugghhh!

'New' Challenge at Passion for Markers

Well it's the new year and time for a new challenge at Passion for Markers after our month long special Christmas challenge!  And, appropriately enough, I've chosen a theme of NEW for this week's challenge.  My 'new' is that the image from our sponsor, The Paper Shelter, is new to me, and also the small rectangular die set from Marianne Designs which is new out this month! (Full list of Marianne goodies below.)

The Paper Shelter are offering three digis to the lucky winner of the challenge so do get crafting!

If you take a look at the makes by my teamies here, you can see just how versatile 'new' can be.  It could be a new item, a new technique, a card for a new baby or new home - endless possibilities.  Just remember to tell us what your 'new' is, and also what type of markers you have used.

The papers I used are Showtime from Graphic 45, the sentiment is from Mama Elephant.  And, as I said deets of Marianne products are below.
