Comfy Cosy!!

Oh I do love this Whiff of Joy image - love the idea of  a cold winter's day and being curled up with a hot cup of cocoa and red woolly socks on my tootsies!!

The Whiff of Joy challenge this week is to use red, cream and one other colour so I've chosen brown.  I'm also entering this for the Simon Says challenge which is to use as much sparkle as you can handle.  Well I can promise, I used loads from stickles on the flower centres, glamour dust on the sentiment and Copic Spicas on her mug, trousers, jumper and socks!  Sadly this doesn't show up on the photo and I love her red, sparkly mug!  Thirdly, I used the layout from Truly Scrumptious (which I've rotated) this week. In addition to the layout, we had to use, 3 flowers, 3 brads and 3 gems or pearls.

Confession time - I'm not really very happy with this card, can't quite put my finger on it, just don't think it has the X factor, but my daughter said she loved it and preferred it to others which I have been happy with!!!  Ah well!

Papers are from Paper Mania Christmas for this year and I cut the Dahlia with my Nestie shapes using K&Co Winter Wonderland which is so rich and sparkly - been stroking it for hours!!  Brads were from Lakeland, and flowers were a bargain from last year's sale at Primark.

Off to see some friends today for a girlie lunch - and then to chat and put the world to rights eating chocolates and dissing the men!!!  Just what is needed today methinks!  Have a great day whatever you're doing!!

My new Kitchen Tilda

I have been loving this image in blog world so couldn't wait to get my inky fingers on it!!  When  I saw that the Spoonful of Sugar challenge had to incorporate a kitchen or cooking item well, of course I had to use her for the first time!  (Not very original I know, sorry!)

I used the sketch below over on  the Just Magnolia  challenge (week 28) by Martine which was sooooo lovely to use - felt really ergonomical if you know what I mean:

I also wanted to enter the Passion for Promarker challenge this week as I seem not to have done it since I won my scrummy new Promarker colours and their challenge was any colour but to use an animal.  Well, I thought this cutie little mouse from a Penny Black set, with his bowlful of stars,  fitted the cooking image nicely.

Papers are a mixture of Daisy Bucket, Brenda Pinnick and scraps.  Nestie Labels, a sentiment from Stampin Up, and a few gems and flowers were the final ingredients!! Yummy!!

Look what I got - Happy Halloween!!!

Just thought I'd show you this fabby Halloween treat box that my family received from my friend and fellow crafter Lesley.  Isn't it just great and so much work - she even designed the template herself.  The only gripe I have is that the chocolate in it wasn't all for me - now what sort of friend is that!!?!!

Even the choccies have been labelled with our names!

Although Lesley has been making cards for ever, she has only just started her blog over at Grenouille Greetings so hop over there and check out some more of her fabulous makes.

Easel card/Comission

Needed to make a card for an order from work - for a lady who will be a hundred - WOW!  Couldn't make any of the challenges fit but decided to go for an easel card for the first time following a tutorial here over and also you can see some beautiful DT cards from the Magnolia-licious DT ladies using this template.  I have to say, it was so easy to make but so effective!

Paper is a sheet I've had for ages from Anna Griffin - can't believe I managed to cut it because it is sooo pretty - deep  breaths!!! Used my Martha Stewart Doiley Lace punch and with numbers cut from DCWV Glittered stack.  Flower punched with a combo of Woodware and Stampin up punches.

This is just to show you the side view and how I've used the buttons as the lip to hold the easel up.

Well, Monday morning so better finish getting ready for work - have a good week everyone!

Spoonful of Sugar/Anyone for Anya

First time of using this gorgeous little sprout, Anneke from the Greeting Farm, which I'm entering for the autumnal theme on the Anyone for Anya challenge.  I've also used the sketch from the Spoonful of Sugar Challenge this week which I found great to use!

We could use any embellies we liked, so I made some flowers for the first time following a tutorial posted by Julie on her blog Julie's Inkspot here - thank you Juliexx  Papers are the delicious Laundry Line range from MME, and rest of bits are from stash!!

My new Promarker storage (oh and stamps too)!

Look at my lovely new storage!!  Idea was from the ladies over on the Passion for Promarkers challenge.  DVD rack from Ikea with empty DVD cases for the shelves - just right for the range of colours!!  You might notice the CD rack besides - well I bought this by mistake first but just as pleased with this as it now holds all my fav stamps and there's room for a few more too!!

Three for One!

Trying to banish the Monday blues so finished a card for three challenges, Sketch Saturday No 73, Basic Grey and Kraftin Kimmie challenge 2 using my new Moonlight Whisper stamps which are scrumptious!

I've rotated the sketch from Sketch Saturday (below) as I felt it suited the image better.

The Basic Grey challenge was to use Red, Green and Blue, which was not so easy, until I found the perfect papers in BG's Euphoria set.  Kraftin Kimmie's additional requirement was to use buttons - lovely!! This is Lilith from the Moonlight Whispers set which I got from Quixotic Paperie  and the little frog stamps comes with her!!  Coloured with Promarkers, sentiment is from stash. It doesn't really show up in the pic but also added some glossy accents to the froggie eyes to make them look a bit bulgy!!!

Didn't get much crafting done over the weekend, despite my intentions but have sorted out my Promarker storage which is fab thanks to the girls over on the Promarker Challenge  blog!  Not quite finished yet but I love it!  Will put some piccies up when it's done.

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge No 1 -PERPLE!

Phew - managed to get a challenge done this weekend - for Mo's Digital Pencil's first challenge.  Just love her images and have had this one for a few weeks and when she said use Perple, thought that this little Prairie girl image would look just perfect!!  Actually quite a simple card as the image and the paper are so striking!  Doesn't it just remind you of Little House on the Prairie too - oh the good old days of watching that after school!! ( Not quite old enough to actually have lived in that era, in case you thought that's what I meant!!)

Tell you what really makes me mad too is that Mo is a really generous illustrator and gives away loads of freebie images and she seems to be having all sorts of problems with people selling her art work that shouldn't be - Grrrrrhhhhh!!!

Here's the sketch from Sketch Saturday by Ria - I rather like this just on it's own - so pretty!!!

Something new for me

I've been wanting to have a go at using Ten Second Studio metal products for quite a while and when I saw Leandra French from PaperArtsy demonstrating last week at Ally Pally that was it I was hooked!  This was my first attempt which I feel quite pleased with, but I have also booked myself in on a one day Work shop at the Craft Barn in a few weeks time so that I really know what I'm doing!  This card was for my Dad - feel that  the metalwork just lends itself to male cards, which I always struggle with.

Basic Grey papers, Ten Second Studio Copper Metal, PaperArtsy Stamps, QuickKutz flourish die cut, K&Co sentiment.

Talking of the Craft Barn, take a look at the wonderful Candy they're offering to celebrate the first anniversary of their website!

This is along with a whole week of celebrations so go and have a peek!!

Truly Scrumptious Challenge 17 - Sketch

The challenge over on Truly Scrumptious this week is to follow this sketch and the extra is to add some doodling.

Well when I saw the DT cards, I just had to use an image from the same set of Butterfly Fairy Digi Stamps by Christine Dark - so I haven't been very original - but going to say I was inspired by their gorgeous creations!!!  If you look at mine, you'll see why!!!

Used a combination of Brenda Pinnick papers and scraps from my scrap box.  Sentiment stamp was a freebie from a magazine.  Coloured with promarkers and doodled with a purple pen, then highlighted with Stickles.  Hope you like - do let me know!!!  Thanks muchly!
