Sketch N Stash No 58

Another Monday has come round far too soon! At least I'm not at work work - I'm on an Excel Intermediate training course - woop woop!!
Moving on quickly  before you lose interest, this is my card for the latest Sketch N Stash challenge, with the sketch being designed by the gorgeous Vicky on the DT:

I used the sketch to make a card for my youngest nephew, Jasper, who is now not so young and 14!!  This Simply Sassy image from Funky Kits, Lost in Thought, looks a little like him so had to use it!  This was my newest item that I used, with the Papers, Notting Hill from 7 Gypsies being the Stash part!
The jute mesh has also been lurking in boxes for a while, so it was nice to dust this off too!
On to our sponsors this week, and we have two, which means two lots of prizes up for grabs.  And they are Simon Says Stamps and Meljen Designs which can be found at Whimsy Stamps

You made some fab cards with the last sketch; don't forget to drop into the challenge blog here to see if you won last time's challenge - it could be you!!  My lovely fellow teamies have also got some wonderful cards to show you so pop on over!!

CES Challenges - show us your Die Cuts

Aren't these new WOJ Gnomes so sweet!!  I bought this one from Crafty Emma's and he was so lovely to colour and use, which of course, I have done for our new challenge over at CES Challenges which is to use Die Cuts - set by the gorgeous Claire from our DT.
I've used my Whiff of Joy Pennant die and my new lacy edge Nesties. I've also used these fab new Prima papers, Melody also from Emma's online store - check it out, she's offering 10% off at the moment!!  Oh and Emma has lots of these Inkadinkoo sentiment stamps which are so sweet!!
The prize for this week's challenge is one of these lovely alterable clocks:
Hope you can join us  for this challenge.  So loved seeing all the fab song-inspired cards last week - had  me humming a few tunes that I hadn't thought of for years!!  Great Stuff.  Check out the challenge blog to see who the lucky winner is, and also the top three!

Can't quite decide what to do today - both daughters are away for the weekend, Holly is off to the Lake District, lucky girl, and Emily is doing Duke of Edinburgh award trekking!  Of course, Harry is away at Uni, so hubby and I are proper Derby and Joan!!  So wish I could have gone to the NEC but just a bit too far, given the cost of petrol, here in the UK at the moment.   I'll just spend that money on-line instead!!
Have a great weekend, whatever you're doing.

Feeling Blue!

I've managed to make a just because card tonight following this week's fab sketch over on Friday Sketchers

HAD to use these gorgeous new Wesbster's Pages that I got from Emma's Store this week and forgot I had this lush satin ribbon from the Tiger Tiger store. Got my distress inks out for a change too.
As well as Friday Sketchers, I had the following challenges in mind for my card:

Crafts and Me   - Anything Goes
A Spoonfull of Sugar - Ribbons, Pearls or Rhinestones and Flowers

I need an early night but it's not gonna happen!!  Yawn!!

Recycling and Singing

Hello - oh it's so lovely to be able to resume normal service!!  Thanks everyone for letting me know that I was back in the land of the living!!
Onto my card for today and I've managed to combine my two DT challenges for today into one card .  At CES challenges we want your card to be inspired by your favourite song, and at Basic Grey we want to see something recycled.
I so love the Teddy Bo cards that I've been seeing in blogland which meant of course that I had to have a few to love and colour up and this is my first card with one of these fab digis!!
I've chosen Teddy Bear by Elvis as my inspiration - when I was younger, much younger(!), I used to love watching his films on a Saturday afternoon, they seem so corny now but he was lovely!!  I also followed the sketch over on the Teddy Bo challenge so will be entering my card there.
For my Basic Grey item, I've used some Sugared Element Stickers - the heart strip and the hearts ( I forgot I had these!) and my recyled bits are the strip of corrugated card which is cut from a Starbucks coffee cup holder, and the buttons, which I've had an age, are from old clothes - I love tins of old buttons!!! The pink lace is vintage too but  unused before - not recycled from any thing like my granny's draws, yewhhhh!!
I've also used Prima Madeline papers, the circle doiley, flower petals and card candi, as well as my promarkers, all  available at Crafty Emma's store here.  The rest of the bits are from my stash.
For Crafty Emma's challenge, you could be lucky enough to win this Sugar and Spice decoupage kit

For the Basic Grey challenge you could win a $25 voucher to spend at Simon Says.

Simon Says Stamp $25 Credit Voucher

Off for a bit of retail therapy with my girls this morning, the sun is shining and it's the weekend!!  Have a fab one!

Can you see my blog? Grrrrrrrhhhhhh!

What a blummin nightmare!!  Haven't been able to get onto my blog all week as it wasn't loading and it seems like that I wasn't the only one as I've had no visitors "sad face".

The hubster has been on the case and it seems that it was to do with my visitor counter that had been hacked or something by the counter provider - as soon as I've deleted it, I've got everything back!!

So happy and so relieved and will be getting in some hopping as I've missed you all!!

Two cards for four challenges!

I've had the busiest day at work and have just got in so hope I'm not too late for the challenge deadlines on my cards!!  Don't like to post two in one go but don't want to miss the deadlines either.
So without further ado, my first card is for the Sugar Bowl challenge, using this fabby new Simply Sassy, Windswept and their sketch. I wish my hair looked like that with the wind blowing through it!!  I've used Prima papers from the Botanical and Annalee pads and the sentiment is from Stampin Up. It seems to match her hair perfectly and as I don't own this set ( borrowed from matey, Alex on our craft day on Saturday!), I can feel a purchase coming on!!
The optional extra is Spring for the challenge - so I hope my floral feast fits the bill!!

My next card, I made using one of the new WOJ releases by Elizabeth Bell, Honey - so sweet!!
I followed the sketch over on Truly Scrumptious ( missed the deadline - blast it!!) and used some new papers from Stampin Up - love the blue shades.  They were perfect for the challenge over on Flutterby Wednesdays which was to use this wonderful spring picture as inspiration - roll on summer days and blue skies!!
And of course for a Flutterby challenge, I had to add a butterfly or two!!
The fence punch is actually a Martha Stewart Halloween punch that has little bat shapes on some of the railings but I just sliced these off so I can use it any time!!  The ribbon slot punch is also Martha Stewart which I appear to have purloined from best matey, Lesley, after our craft day on Saturday!!  It must have fell into my bag, honest guv!!
Finally, I am also entering the Whiff of Joy challenge which is for Blooms and Buttons this week.

Had hoped to finish another card tonight but am pooped so might just do some blog visiting.

A little Sketch N Stash Tilda

Hi all. Well not been about as much as I hoped this weekend but did have a fab crafting day at Lesley's and my son, Harry came home unexpectedly from Uni so it was lovely to have him home for a couple of days.  I did the dreaded paperwork too, hence no blogging and no commenting.  I do have a couple of cards to post that  I made  on Saturday but will get to these later in the week.  For now, it's time to show you my latest card for the Sketch N Stash challenge and we're at sketch No 57 as designed by the lovely Sue!
Before I show you the rest of my card, I must tell you about this week's sponsor for our challenge and that is Whimsy Stamps.

For my card I used this lovely new Tilda, she is just so sweet!! I also partially flipped the sketch so that my 3 embellies and sentiment ended up at the top of my card instead of on the bottom.  Confession time, this was totally accidentally - I wasn't paying attention!!
My papers are Prima Madeline and 7 Gypsies (Zanzibar) but don't know the make of  the spotty backing paper. The gold filigree corner was a purchase from Ebay and then I won some from Bev Rochester as Wild Orchid are starting to sell them - so pretty!!
As ever, my gorgeous teamies over at Sketch N Stash have some fab cards to share with you, which I hope you'll go and have a look at.
Work today, boohoo - roll on April with all those Bank Holidays!!

Our next challenge at Crafty Emma's - Men Only!!

Hello peeps   - well I'm glad to say I got through the team building session without any bust ups and the chocolate making was great fun!!  In fact, I am the very proud winner of decorate the lollipop!!  Guess what my prize was - yep, a box of chocolates!! Was going to post my winning creation to show you but was  busy last night catching up with my DT commenting and packing my stuff for a lovely crafting day with best mates Lesley and Alex.  Great start to the weekend - and on Sunday I must do some paperwork , sadly not the crafting kind but bills and filing, yuck. Still hope to be able to show you something  from our day on Sunday.
Back to what I came on for, and that's our next challenge at Crafty Emma's  chosen by the lovely lady herself and that is Men Only - don't worry it's cards for men that we want, not cards made only by men!!
I wanted to make a card for one of post 'boys' at work who was turning 65 but still staying on at work!!  He's a bit of a legend at work, loves his golf, drink and a flutter and is always coming up saying things he shouldn't to HR but we love him!  You can see why I used this Flippin Men image which I partly paper-pieced with Pink Paislee Old School papers from Emma's store.  I've used the matching papers for my matting to tie it all up and some Card Candi also from Emma's.

Emma is offering this fabby  Paws fur a Moment Stamp Set as the prize this week, so hope to see lots of great men cards in blog land.

Don't forget to pop by the challenge to see the fabulous cards by my DT buddies and to check if you're the lucky winner of last week's challenge.

Have a great weekend, and thanks for popping in!!!

Colour Create Challenge 65.

Another fortnight has been and gone - goodness knows where!!  Anyway, that means it's time for our next challenge at Colour Create which has been chosen by our fabbie Di!!  The picture below is the starting point for the challenge with the colours of Olive Green, Brown, Cream and Black as the colours to use.
10 March - Challenge 65 - Di Greens/olive green, brown, cream and black
Di also chose the optional extra of leaves to add in if you could.  I just couldn't make leaves fit with my picture but Sharon L on the DT did comment that the Kenny K image I used looks likes the kind of girl that has leaves in her hair!! That did make my laugh so thought I'd share it with you - and leave the leaves to your imagination!!
The bottom panel of paper is DCWV but I don't know the make of the striped.  The sentiment came with one of the Moonlight Whisper girl stamps. She's got vampy shiny boots on which I did with Glossy Accents but this hasn't shown up in my pic.
Our  regular sponsor is with us this week, The Pixie Cottage, who have kindly offered some fab new embossing folders as the prize!
We have two gorgeous new teamies joining us at Colour Create - Sylvia and Kerry!  They've made fab cards for their first challenge with us, as have the rest of my awesome teamies at Colour Create.  Pop on over for a peek!!

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Craft Your Passion - Anything Goes
Kaboodle Doodles - Go Green
Ooh La La Creations - It's a Man Thing
Paper Playtime - Anything goes with a Digi
Paper Sundaes - Stripes
Simon Says - Anything goes
I have a team building session after work tonight - groan!!  BUT, we are making chocolates and there will be alcohol so I'm sure it will be fine!!  I'll let you know!!
