Wildflowers with Linocut background

I recently did a linocut class at Market Place Print Studios, opened recently by our Emily and her partner, Jack.   I thought I could use the skill to make my own backgrounds and images.  It was such a great class, Jack was a brilliantly calm tutor and not at all dismissive of the background image that I made.  I felt my fellow course attendees produced far more accomplished linocuts to use for card printing but I did have a different end product in mind.

The above shows the cards we made,  (I did some second generation printing for the one in the above picture).  I've then used Sizzix and Marianne Designs Wildflower dies to continue with the rustic theme and feel quite pleased with the finished card now!!

You can find out more about Market Place Print Studio here in Cockermouth, they're offering all sorts of classes and instruction.  It was also Emily's first time of lino cutting and look what she made with her finished stamp - love, love, love her beautiful  block printed butterfly bag. (Pic from a Maker's Market they did last weekend.)

Hopefully, I'll get back into the swing of posting on here - as I've stepped back from all my team stuff, I've lost the momentum but it has been lovely not to have to work to deadlines or use specific products.

Thanks for popping in.

Tim Holtz Christmas Couple Die

I loved this Tim Holtz die set from a couple of years ago but haven't gotten round to using it.  It makes for quite a simple card even though cutting out all the bits and assembling is a bit fiddly.  But I did do a bit of mixing and matching, hence three cards.  I like the completed figures against these grungy Xmas papers from my stash.

I've seen the new Christmas release from Tim this year - love the snowmen and bottle brush tree stamps but I'm sitting on my hands!!

The Die set is this one- Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 664731.

Thanks for popping in!

Passion for Promarkers - Orange is the new Challenge!

It's my turn to choose the theme for the new challenge at Passion for Promarkers and I've gone with a colour challenge of Orange.  Not previously a favourite colour of mine but I am loving Oranges and Yellows at the minute! It doesn't have to be  a lot of orange - just an accent or as much as you like!!

I've used our sponsor image - Colour of Love Stamps -  of Wildflowers, so pretty!

I've also listed the Promarker pens that I used for the main elements of my card, if you might find that helpful.

My Orange (and yellow) combinations: - Burnt Orange, Orange, Mandarin, Oatmeal
                                     -  Coral, Tequilla Sunrise, Oatmeal, Blush
                                         - Raw Sienna, Sleigh Bells, Gold, Mustard

Products Used

Papers -My Mind's Eye - In Bloom
Oval Frame - Marianne Designs - CR1446
Dies - Sizzix Tim Holtz Wildflowers sets 1 and 2

As I said, we're being sponsored this week by Colour of Love Digi Stamps with a great prize of Three digis from their online store.

So, check out the fabulous makes of my teamies here and then come and join in with us - I look forward to seeing what you create!

Lili of The Valley Get Well

I made this card recently for a friend who is a keen cyclist but had to recover after an op before he was allowed to get back on his bike!  So this LOTV image was perfect for resting but dreaming of life on the open road again!
The cycle stamps are from Sizzix and I word-processed the sentiment.  And I can't for the life of me remember whose papers these are!

Happy Weekend everyone - I think we're off to do a bit of cave exploring with our visitors today!

Our Fabulous Holly!

Our Holly was 30 last month - eek- and she has recently started a pop-up market stall with her friend, selling pantry staples and cleaning products that aren't wrapped in plastic.  So you take all your jars, containers and bottles and they refill them for you so you're not adding to the plastic pollution!
So, I made this card using a load of dies and things I've had in my stash for ages but have barely used!!  Hubby made a few comments!!

The large sentiment is from Lili of The Valley, the Scales are Sizzix, and the small jars stamp, dies and sentiment combos are from PaperTrey Ink - Holly's business is called Goodness and Grain so I altered the sentiment on the small jar below!!
The little plastic jar above ( not that it reflects their ethos!!) is from Jolee and the paper is from October Afternoon.

That's all for today, folks!

Sizzix Flower Fairies

I bought these Sizzix flower fairies many years ago from a sale on the Sizzix site and have only now found some time to play with them.  I thought they'd be perfect on my stall at the craft fair and made a few Christmassy ones as well as others that I thought could be out all year round - lovely in a little girl's room.

I coloured the faces and bodies with my Promarkers  and then matched them up with some 12 x 12 papers which were big enough to fit the large die.   I then matched them up with some old large petals that I had for their skirts and bits of ribbon and embroidery to make them all individual.

I was thinking I'd need to find some split pins until my daughter Em pointed out that I had drawers full of them but called Brads!!  Honestly!!

I added some Stickles Glitter  and they were done.

Back soon with some more goodies to share.

It's a new week and a new challenge over at Sketch N Stash and we have a new sponsor, Rick St Dennis, (as well as our regular sponsor, Crafty Devils).

Prize 2 digis of winner's choice OR discount coupon for Zibbet shop

& Crafty Devils

Prize £10

This is our sketch for this week, and I've used a fabulous Rick St Dennis image for my card.
I chose this creepy guy, Reaper, for my card- bit too creepy for a birthday card but I knew my husband would love it for his birthday, especially as he shipped a very similar figure over from California last year!
The papers are also from our Californian trip, the flourish corner is a Sizzix die and the sentiments are Stampin Up,

That's all from me for today but don't forget to check out the wonderful makes of my SNS teamies here.
Have a  great week,

Passion for Promarkers with Mo's Strongman

Another card from me today - wow, two posts in two days - I feel faint!!
This card is for today's new challenge starting today over at a Passion for Promarkers and we have a great theme of  Oh I Do Love To Be Beside The Seaside!

Strongman from Mo's Digital Pencil is perfect for this theme don't you think!  Probably more likely to see this speciman on a Californian beach rather than Clacton-on-Sea here in the UK but he does make me smile!  I then created the sentiment with Word Art!
The  papers are from a Tilda seaside theme set, and the sentiment arrow is a Sizzix die.  The music die is from Memory Box and I cut the image out using a Go Kreate die.
We have two fab sponsors for this week's Challenge, Letraset and Crafty Sentiments.

Passion for Promarkers Anniversary Challenge

Hello and welcome to our 5 Year Anniversary here at PFP Challenges, and in honour of the 5 years that PFP has been setting you weekly challenges, Teams 1 and 2 are coming together, for one big celebration.  The theme is to use your dies and we have lots of lovely prizes for you from our lovely sponsors - see my list at the end of my very long post!!    To be eligible for our prize draw you must use your Letraset products (i.e. pro, flex, tria, aqua, metallic or neon markers) and of course follow the theme.
As you can see, I've used a fabulous Mo Manning Digi image called Naunet-she is so adorable!  I took my colour scheme from a new pad of Graphic 45 papers On the Boardwark.
I've coloured  her with my Promarkers and Trias and then entered embellie heaven to finish off!  The little shells were a gift from best matey Lesley, who picked up a whole lod from the beach while she was in Florida.  I made the flower ages ago using a flower punch which I then scrunched up and added some glitter for that extra sparkle.

My die cuts include this little Memory Box Whale which I bought in the sales and wasn't sure when I would use it but here it is!  The bubbles, large and small, are also cut with Memory Box dies.  Finally, I mde the three little starfish using a star mould and some Cloud Clay which I'd heard good things about and it is indeed as light as a feather and very easy to use.  I curled the points of the star while the clay was still drying to get that starfish feel going and then stained them with Antique Linen Distress stain and some gold liquid pearl from Tulip.
What I really love from the Graphic 45 papers is the Mermaids Wanted sign - just perfect!!  I've also used a Tim Holtz flourish edge die but have then proceeded to cover it up!

As it's a special challenge we have a really easy theme for you of "use your die-cuts", although please note we are only accepting a maximum of 3 entries per person for this one challenge only.  To be eligible for our prize draw you must use your Letraset products (i.e. pro, flex, tria, aqua, metallic or neon markers) and of course follow the theme.  As always we have some fantastic prizes up for grabs and our sponsors have been very generous as usual .  Here we go.....
