A Christmas Eclipse Card

I've seen a few of this style of card around and about on social media, so looked up a few tutorials on YouTube and away I went.    This gorgeous new stamp from Marianne Designs was just perfect for the project too!   I stamped and coloured the image in first and then picked my letter dies and fixed them in place with low tack masking tape.  This was the scary bit - cutting the letters without them moving, especially after spending some time colouring!  The only problem I had was peeling off the masking tape after - despite it being low tack AND sticking it against my jeans before using AND peeling it off very gently, it still tore the top layer of paper off.  Hence, my use of Shabby White Frantage embossing powder.  I quite like the effect in the end,

Finally, I layered the image panel onto the Slimline Distressed die cut base and added some Crystal Stickles to the berries.

Red Gnome Day

Morning folks.  I hope we've all recovered after yesterday's social media outage!!  

Today's card is for the 'RED' challenge at Passion for Markers that starts today as set by our fab Lorraine.  We just want to see red somewhere on your card - Red corner to corner or a touch, you decide.

I love these gnomes from Mo's Digital Pencil - I've used the set Tini and Egli, and also Frode from the Frode and Hedda set.  

I also love this new frame set from Marianne Designs this month - love the distressed edging and you get a lot to mix and match especially combining with their other slimline dies.  (Details below of what I have used).

Hold on to your Hats!

I wasn't going to make any Halloween cards this year as I

don't tend to use them but I was fiddling around with a new pyramid die from Marianne Designs and came up with this!  I was really working out how to use the frame and I'm not sure that this is the right way but it's very versatile!  I've used it like a triangular stand but you can use it to make stars, for decorative cards, all sorts.  I've then added a whole load of leaves, trees and other Marianne die cuts - full list below.

Passion for Markers Wings and/or Leaves

Morning folks- I'm not sure where the weeks are going at the moment- it seems to me that when the 'Bers arrive (as my nieces call these last few months of the year) the rest of the year flies by!  So another Christmas card seems the order of the day.

My card is for our Wings and/or Leaves challenge at Passion for Markers  and I've used this gorgeous image,  Winter Robin, from our sponsors Sheepski Designs,

I've coloured him with a mix of Promarkers and Copics including the background sky!  I was going to use a whole host of frames and layers but when I layered up all my elements I thought he just looked best against the papers and framed simply by the delicate frame from the set below.

I've used Bedtime Story to make a card for my sister who has just become a Granny for the second time around - this is her with her two grandchildren having Granny cuddles!

Autumn Colours at Passion for Promarkers

Hi there - well only I could choose a theme of Autumn Colours when we're right in the middle of an Indian Summer here in the UK.  Not complaining though, it's lovely- and I'm having a sneaky break to see my Dad and my sister and a new great-niece!  Had a good old cuddle today with little Ava!

As mentioned, it's my turn to choose the theme at Passion for Markers and I've gone with Autumn Colours which goes rather well with this sponsor image, Gabrielle from JMC designs.

I rotated the image before printing so I could get her peeking round the  frame.  I even managed to create a passable cloud background but was so delicate that it barely shows in the photos!

The animal print papers are DCWV and the daisy die is from that Wildflower set from Marianne again - CR1529.

The sentiment is from a Simon Says Stamp book-themed set.

Hello folks - yep another Christmas card!  It's new challenge day at Passion for Markers with a theme of Fantasy/Magical.  Well I think this fits the brief - gnomes are fantasy and Rudolph as Christmas is just magical!!

Autumnal birthday card

Morning folks - jumping on here quickly before starting on the garden today!    This is my latest Marianne card for this month on the Marianne Inspiration blog here.  I've used their new and very fabulous tree stencil which comes with two different types of tree outline - I used the fir tree version on a previous make for a Christmas background.  

I've then stamped, die-cut and coloured the toadstools, leaves and acorns for the detail at the bottom of the card.  Full list of  Marianne products below.

Happy Birthday!

I was totally smitten by a CAS card made by Chris Stokes who creates this style of card perfectly.  It was also a perfect card for my daughter's partner who is a bee keeper.  You can see Chris's version  in the Clean and Simple card making group on Face Book and lots more of Chris's stunning cards here on her blog.

I've used a Lavinia stamp for the bees and a hexagonal stencil that I found in my stash!  The birthday die is a PTI one that I've cut out several times for depth and stamped with the matching stamp from the set.

Christmas in August

Morning folks - well we have a Christmas in August theme on our new challenge starting today over at Passion for Markers.

I've used one of Mo's Digital Pencil's Christmas Gnomes - this is from the Father Christmas Gnome set - I'm still loving these guys!  I've also used a brand new mask stencil from Marianne Designs for the background.  So simple to create but so effective I think. And you get two types of tree backgrounds on the stencil - these Fir tree outlines and also an oak tree style option.

 I've also added a new lamp  post die and the sentiment from Marianne, details below.

Peeking Sloth - I feel a little like this guy at the moment!

This wasn't meant to be today's card!  I'd coloured up a Mo image a couple of weeks ago and was going to pop it on a card yesterday after my stint in Holly's shop!  But could I find it anywhere -no!

So I needed to make a quick card for my post on Mo's Dream Team blog today and so used Peeking Sloth from the set Belated Birthday Wishes and Peeking Sloth - it's twofer!  I feel like this little guy has just about used all his energy to climb to the wall and peek over to send his greeting (belated of course)

The sentiment is from a fab Woodware set, the papers are from a First Edition mat block and the palm trees are a Marianne Die - LR0541.

It's our day to have Violet, so I need to go and clear her space in my craft room as I know she will want to some  arting!!
