Happy New Year from me and a magazine commission

I've had a couple of months off from blogging as life has been busy, most importantly in welcoming our gorgeous new grand-daughter into the world, beautiful little Elodie. She is just so lovely, and Violet is the best big sister to her.  Holly has done amazingly well too, couldn't be prouder of her.  Other stuff included Christmas, my Dad's estate and a little thing called a tax return.

As you can see, I've still be making cards and this is for a new magazine kit taking it's inspiration from The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady - such a fab kit.  My feature is about Stretching your Stash so making all the things in the kit and what we have at home already go a little bit further.
And, delighted to see one of my cards  on the front cover (top right corner above)!

Individual pics below  and also a link to Craft Stash here where you can buy the kit online if you can't find it locally.

Happy Crafting!

Stamps By Chloe new Premium Magazine

The latest Premium Magazine from Practical Publishing was released a week or so ago and these are my cards using the stunning stamps and dies that formed part of the product set that comes free with the magazine.  I just love these daisy dies, well and the whole concept of the set.

If you can't find the magazine in your local newsagent you can get it here at Craft Stash.

A very Floral Frieda

Another Frieda card using the Craft Stash stamp set- this time for my M-I-L's birthday.  Layered onto this beautiful Marianne XL Floral die, CR1586, and then onto an inky background, prepared earlier.  The flowers are various from stash, including some vintage pansies, which were probably from Renee in the first place!

I added a few crystals and sentiment from the Frieda paper set and done!

Hope the snow is not causing you too many problems.  I travelled down to see my Dad in Norwich a couple of days earlier than I intended - happy I did as I think they closed the A66 snow gates this afternoon!

Keep warm!

Frida Kahlo Stamp set

When I saw these new Frida Kahlo stamps and papers - available at Craft Stash here - I knew they would make great cards for some family members who are huge fans of this fascinating artist.  This is the card for my SIL.  I was a bit surprised about the boldness of the paper set I got, but I think I've toned them down here but just allowing glimpses of them through the layers.  I used a mask stencil from Marianne Designs to create the softer inked layer, coloured and hand-cut the flowers from the Frida set.  The little corner stamp on the main image comes with the stamp set so I added some Marianne die cut foliage to mirror the leaves- details of Marinane products used below.

A Christmas Eclipse Card

I've seen a few of this style of card around and about on social media, so looked up a few tutorials on YouTube and away I went.    This gorgeous new stamp from Marianne Designs was just perfect for the project too!   I stamped and coloured the image in first and then picked my letter dies and fixed them in place with low tack masking tape.  This was the scary bit - cutting the letters without them moving, especially after spending some time colouring!  The only problem I had was peeling off the masking tape after - despite it being low tack AND sticking it against my jeans before using AND peeling it off very gently, it still tore the top layer of paper off.  Hence, my use of Shabby White Frantage embossing powder.  I quite like the effect in the end,

Marianne Products Used

Poinsettia Stamp - MM1649- NEW!
Slimline Distressed Die Set - CR1569 - NEW!

Finally, I layered the image panel onto the Slimline Distressed die cut base and added some Crystal Stickles to the berries.

Oh and the letter Dies are by Christine Griffiths which I got from Craft Stash

Watch out for more of these, love them!!
