Whoop whoop!!! The boy done good!

I'm a day late posting this card for our latest challenge at Sketch N Stash.  It's a congratulations card for my son for getting his degree but he only got the results confirmed today - he got a 2:1 in Character Creation and Special effects!  Well, done Harry, we couldn't be prouder and know just how hard it was to get there this year!!

This is the fabulous sketch designed by our fabulous lady of many talents, Angie.

I had to use this graduate celebrating image from Mo Manning, Glad Grad Boy. 

I mounted his mortar board separately, to better fit the sketch but hope it looks like he's throwing it up into the air!

You may wonder why the little sentiment holder is a Frankenstein image, well check out the sculpt below that Harry made as part of his course.  It's amazing - and my hubby, Nick, is now the very proud owner of the bust (and several other makes too).

The only problem is, I can't remember where the little guy below came from as I snagged him as a freebie somewhere!!  If anyone recognises it so I can give credit, please do let me know!!

The papers are Graphic 45 and Bo Bunny and there's some Tim Holtz film tape and ticket die cuts thrown in there to go along with the film theme.

Passion for Promarkers - Feeling Fruity!

It's my turn to choose the theme for this week's challenge at Passion for Promarkers and it's Feeling Fruity - either depicted in your image/papers or fruity colours!

As you can see, I've gone with this yummy Mo Manning Image, Bite?, love her expression! 

The papers are K&Co, and the tree is a combo of Memory Box dies - Twiggy Tree and the matching leaf mound.  I've then added  some green pearls to look like apples!!

The flower border is another Memory Box die, Spring Border which I cut first in green and then in the pinky purple paper which I overlaid on top of the green version.  The dark green grass is actually an icicle border but not sure about it now!

Things with Wings at Basic Grey Challenges

Hello Peeps - a bit late with posting my card today - didn't get to bed until 3am as a certain person was having after show drinks with a certain cast of a certain musical in London following a week of work experience, and didn't have her certain phone on to let a certain person know she was ok!!!  She had a fantastic week though and this certain Mum is glad she was home safe and well!!!

Over at Basic Grey Challenges, we have a new challenge which is Things With Wings. I needed to make a good luck card for our niece and hubby who are flying off to America on Monday to live the American Dream for 18 months while hubby has a work transfer over to San Fransisco!

We went and had birthday/send off drinks last night with them and the family (except for a certain daughter ( and a certain son!)). 

This is a new image from the gorgeous Krista at Saturated Canary called Pack Light which seemed rather appropriate as they're shipping half their home over there!!  She looks a little like our gorgeous Fran too!!

My papers are a mix of Basic Grey Little Black Dress and Capella. The sentiment is from a Kaiser Craft set, yummy flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and my flutterby border ( my winged element, but maybe also the implied flight that my girlie is going on!) is a Tim Holtz die.

It's Hippity Hop Thursday with Mos Dream Team!

Well the months are just speeding by and we've still not had any summer sun here in the UK which is maybe why I thought of using this gorgeous Mo Manning image of this little guy flying his kite which you can find here - you need blustery winds for that don't you!!

It's the third Thursday in the month which means it's time for our monthly hop on Mos Dream Team to showcase lots of  Mo's gorgeous images!!

You should have arrived here from the fabulous Jane's blog but if you want to hop all the way, pop back  to Mina's blog, who is hosting this month's hop and is therefore the start.

The theme of Ribbon for this month's challenge has been chosen by the queen of ribbon, Mina, which, as you can see I've  used to create all the little bows on my little guy's kite as well as the bigger one he is part of!  We were watching some old family videos the other night and came across some film of my hubby flying a kite with my own little guy, Harry, when he was about 18 months - oh he was so cute!!  ( He's now my big little guy in my newly updated pic in my side bar).

I've used a variety of Websters pages on my card and you can just see here that I   paper-pieced the kit to match the one being flown on the paper below. These teeny bows I made myself with my bow-easy but the ones on the bigger string were ready made from stash.

The little row of striped buttons seemed to suit the seaside theme and are a useful barrier to hold the easel in place.

The ribbon on the kite below is not stuck down so that the card can be collapsed for posting - now wouldn't that have been silly!!! 

Finally just a side view to show the easel a little better.

Whiff of Joy Sketch and bright colour alert!!

Have you been blinded by the colours on my card?  Think I went a bit overboard with the primary colours on this card for the new challenge over at Whiff of Joy Challenges!  We have a fabulous sketch for you too, designed by our awesome Karina, great sketch to work to.

I've used a new WOJ image called Maya Watching a Ladybug, she is just so cute!!!  I've layered her up slightly onto another stamped image - only because I thought I'd add some clouds using a template mask that I have - and my clouds ended up blue with the sky white -DOH!!!  So cut her out and started again!  My colour scheme was inspired by  the little retro image in the centre of my flower.  This came from a teeny  pack of playing cards with this picture on the back.  My papers are from a variety of October Afternoon pads, including I thinkg 5 and Dime and Thrift store.

The grass is a Whiff of Joy die and the Picket Fence, a Tim Holtz die.  The little flower tag is PaperTreyInk and the sentiment Stampin Up.

Sketch N Stash Monday

It's time for our next challenge at Sketch N Stash, and as we're being sponsored by Teddy Bo this week, I've used this fabbie Teddy Bo image, very kindly given for the DT to use for this challenge. You could win this image and another two, if you're the lucky winner of this challenge!

 Mr Bo looks a little lopsided here because of the tilt of the layer - I actually think he's been sampling too many of his own cocktails!! 

My papers are just about the oldest set in my stash, Making Memories - Funky Vintage Ruby Collectiion.  Such gorgeous colours!! The sentiment is a newer addition from a Lili of the Valley set.

Also I must just say hello to my new followers - hello!! - I've now reached 400, so I'm thrilled, thank you so much! Now, I must get my finger out and sort out some candy to celebrate!!

Saturated Canary Wedding card - warning, lots of pics!!!

We had a fabulous family wedding yesterday-picture below of the beautiful bride, my niece Annabel with her new husband, Andy and their gorgeous boy, Samuel. 

Another pic of my three lovelies, below, Harry, Emily and Holly and then another of my two gorgeous girls!!

 It was such a lovely, relaxed day, and enjoyed by us all! 

So my card I'm showing you is their wedding card, made with a beautiful Saturated Canary image, Marry Me,  which kind of reminded me of our bride with those big brown eyes. 

I used an 8x8 card blank for my card, so I could add lots of bling, which funnily enough is the theme of the new challenge on the Saturated Canary blog, so I'm entering it into the challenge.  This bit of bling is an old diamante brooch, which once belonged to Annabel's great grandmother, so I thought it would be rather nice on my card. 

I've then used some flowers from Bo Bunny and The Hobby House, and added some resin embellies such as this cherub and some flowers.

I've also added some bling pins and some glitter to the flowers, wooden leaves, and corner flourishes ( which had first been painted with white acrylic). 

I've used lots of edging punches and dies, including this new Meridian border from Memory Box.  The postcard is a Tim Holtz stamp, the music, a Lili of the Valley, and the sentiment, a Cats Life Press. 

The leave flourishes are Cheery Lynn, and the papers a mix of K and Co and Memory Box.  I didn't take a pic but I even made a box for the card, because it was too bulky to go in an envelope.
