Saturated Canary girl with Staffie

I nipped over to France recently (as you do!) to visit my sister who is out there doing up a gite and enjoying some late sunshine which helps with her RA.  I left this card for her birthday - she has a houseful of animals, in particular three staffies so I  had to use this image from Saturated Canary!
I used one of the largest dies from Marianne set Anja's Oval die set LR0376 and also an embossing folder for the mat underneath the image -  Flowers DF3401. Finally the sunflowers were cut with a Marianne die - Tiny's Sunflower Die - LR0361.  Oh and the fabric roses are also from Marianne Designs - love the denim feel of these.

Hope you like!

Get Your Geek On

We have a great challenge starting today over at a Passion For Promarkers, chosen by our lovely Lou who wants to see all your Geeks (images wearing glasses).  Well nobody does Geek Chic better than Krista at Saturated Canary and I've used the gorgeously chic, Vintage Violet.

You might remember that I made various embellies out of some Thermomorph a couple of weeks ago, and this purple Chrysanthemum is one of them.
My papers are from the Prima Meadow Lark pad, and the various die cuts include Tim Holtz for the butterfly border, a Marianne rolled flowers and twig set, and a Joy Craft Lattice and matching Corner.  The image itself was cut out with a Spellbinders set.
To finish off, I added some grey liquid pearl around Violet and on the lattice and butterflies.

Letraset are sponsoring this week's challenge and the lucky winner will receive a set of Flexmarkers.

New Sketch N Stash Challenge

Well, where did that weekend go!  Yesterday was great at Ally Pally, got some lovely goodies and had a fab day with bestie, Lesley, and also managed to say hello to the fab Debby 4000 and her sister, along with Nikki, who's  our Stampin Up queen! However the journey home was awful, got caught up with the football at Arsenal, my Sat Nav wouldn't work and it took 3 hours to get home (should have been 1)!    Still, only a two day week at work and then I have a few days off.
I'd also like to say hi and a big thank you to my new followers over the last week or so  - so lovely of  you, welcome!!

Back to today's challenge and we have a new challenge starting over on Sketch N Stash using the sketch below and we have an optional theme of birthdays.

We have two fabulous sponsors for this challenge, you lucky things!

£10 spend

$10 spend
For my card I used this gorgeous new digi image from Saturated Canary and then layered up using papers from a Basic Grey Green at Heart 6x6 pad which has been in my stash a while!

The tree frame is from Memory Box, and the two flowers are cut with a Paper Trey Ink set of dies

Anything Goes at Basic Grey Challenges (using Basic Grey stash of course!)

Hi all  - it's time for a new challenge at Basic Grey Challenges and this fortnight we have a great Anything Goes theme.  I've used one of Saturated Canaries new fairy images, Sweater Socks Fairy - so love these!
My papers are a mix of Basic Grey Lauderdale and PB&J 6x6 papers and of course coloured with my usual Promarkers.

The frame is cut with a Spellbinders die set, with a Marianne Die used for the Poinsettia and a Cheery Lyn die used for the Holly leaf flourish. The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley and then I've used lots of Frantage Chunky White embossing powder for the snow effect.
My teamies over on BG have made some wonderful cards to share with you - check them out here.

As always, our wonderful sponsor, Simon Says Stamp is offering one lucky winner a fab $25 shopping spree in the Simon Says Superstore

(Please note: This is a voucher code that entitles the winner to a $25 saving off their order in Simon Says Stamp, P+P charges will still apply unless the conditions are met to earn free P+P, please check here if you would like to see these conditions)

I'm at the end of my fortnight's holiday and have got up early to wait for a builder to come and give us a quote on our chimney stacks, and he's not turned up!  Grrrr!

Enjoy your weekend, whatever you're doing!

Passion for Promarkers - A Sketch

So sorry I'm late posting my card for today's new challenge at Passion for Promarkers.  We went out for drinks after work but I didn't get home late - about 9.30, and then I had a good catch up on the phone with one of my sisters, and then I was just about to sort out my post, when my daughter persuaded me to go and sit in the garden and watch the meteor shower!    I was so tired by this time and I promptly overslept this morning by an hour!  No problem, I thought, I'll do it in my lunch hour at work (as I'd already uploaded the pics) but then blogger wouldn't load properly!!!  Grrrrrr!

Here now though and our new challenge at PFP has been set by our lovely Loopy Lou who has drawn this great sketch.
Lous sketch challenge 211
And as we're being sponsored by Saturated Canary, I've used one of Krista's awesome images!
My papers are Echo Park and I've also used Spellbinders Marvellous Squares to cut the sentiment  mat, which is from the  Lili of the Valley Grungy Christmas set.
As I mentioned, our sponsor for this week's challenge is Saturated Canary and the lucky winner will win 2 digis of their choice!

Sketch N Stash Challenge 119

It's the start of a new week and the start of a new challenge over at Sketch N Stash and the start of my Christmas card makes for this year!  The sketch is below, and as you can see I've rotated it to suit the size of my image.
I've used this lovely Saturated Canary image and coloured her with my Promarkers.
My papers are from Prima 6x6 pads- I think Fairy Glen and Nature Garden, the flowers are cut with a Marianne Poinsettia  Die with copious amounts of  Aged Silver Frantage.  Finally, the sentiment is from Cat's Life Press.
Oh, it's so good to get the first Crimbo card under my belt ... and I have another one tomorrow!
And as the Saturated Canary Challenge Blog has an Anything Goes theme at the minute, I'm entering my card in there.

Our sponsor this week is........

Prize Cd of the winners own choice
and some bling

Wow, that  sounds like a great prize!  Check out  the rest of the team's cards here, and also say hi to all our new DT members - we're thrilled to  have such a great bunch of new teamies!!

Passion for Promarkers Butterflies

Hello bloggers!  It's my turn to host our new challenge starting at Passion For Promarkers today and I've chosen a theme of Butterflies!  Now I know there's not that many about in the UK at the minute, we still seem to be in the depths of winter.  Spring can't be far around the corner though
and with the warmer days the butterflies will come!
I love this Saturated Canary stamp and her little jar of butterflies and thought she would be perfect teamed with this PTI pint jar die and stamp.
The papers are from a Tilda Summer Blues pad and the tree frame is a Memory Box die with various punches used for the butterflies.  I thought I'd add some cherry blossom to the brances with some liquid pearls but actually I think it looks a bit of a mess!

We have  the fabulous Digi Stamp Boutique  sponsoring us this week and the winner will get 6 gorgeous digi images.

My teamies have made some fabulous cards to share with you so check them out here!

Spring is in the Air at Basic Grey

Good morning all and Happy Saturday!!  Well it's cold, wet and miserable here in London with not even a hint of Spring but that's our theme at Basic Grey Challenges today - Spring in the Air!  As long as you use Basic Grey products we want to see your spring colours, spring images or spring themes!

I've used this gorgeous Saturated Canary digi image - there's nothing like sitting in the garden reading a good book! My papers are Basic Grey Kioshi, the frame is a Cheery Lynn (which the die cut flowers come with).  I thought it would be a good idea to use the thread through the holes around the frame.  Most of the other die cuts are from a K&Co. And the bliss ticket is of course Tim Holtz.

As always, the fabulous Simon Says Stamp are sponsoring us with their usual $25 voucher on offer for the lucky winner.

And don't forget to check our the wonderful inspiration by my BG teamies here!
I'm off for a day off crafting with best matey Lesley, we'll soon forget about  the awful day outside!!  Enjoy your day!

Basic Grey Challenges - Your Favourite

Hi there - I'm back with a card for our new Challenge at Basic Grey Challenges where we want to see
Your Favourite - it could be the stamp, dies, papers (as long as they're Basic Grey of course), just let us know what it is.  I have a list as long as my arm, but I think at the moment, right at the top are Die Cuts and I've used a few new ones on my card - the hearts and Crest border are Memory Box, the flower is a Sweet William die from Cheery Lynn and the Corner is a new one from Die-namics.  The Fleur De Lys  frame die is one that has been in my stash for a while!
My Basic Grey papers are always a firm favourite and here  I've used a mix of Konnichiwa and What's Up  6x6 papers. Of course, the cute image is a Saturated Canary digi image, (love these too!).
Oh and another favourite item I like to use are goodies by PTI which is my sentiment.

Don't forget that we have our regular sponsor with us, Simon Says Stamp,  with a fabulous $25 voucher going to one lucky entry in to our challenge.

My fabby teamies at Basic Grey have made some gorgeous cards for the challenge so take a peek here.

Simon Says Stamp Challenge has a theme of  Have A Heart so I'm going to enter my card into their challenge.

I'm off out to a Stampin Up party this morning at best matey's Lesley, and I think we'll have a crafting session after!  Enjoy your day!

Saturated Canary Wedding card - warning, lots of pics!!!

We had a fabulous family wedding yesterday-picture below of the beautiful bride, my niece Annabel with her new husband, Andy and their gorgeous boy, Samuel.
Another pic of my three lovelies, below, Harry, Emily and Holly and then another of my two gorgeous girls!!

It was such a lovely, relaxed day, and enjoyed by us all!
So my card I'm showing you is their wedding card, made with a beautiful Saturated Canary image, Marry Me,  which kind of reminded me of our bride with those big brown eyes.
I used an 8x8 card blank for my card, so I could add lots of bling, which funnily enough is the theme of the new challenge on the Saturated Canary blog, so I'm entering it into the challenge.  This bit of bling is an old diamante brooch, which once belonged to Annabel's great grandmother, so I thought it would be rather nice on my card.
I've then used some flowers from Bo Bunny and The Hobby House, and added some resin embellies such as this cherub and some flowers.

I've also added some bling pins and some glitter to the flowers, wooden leaves, and corner flourishes ( which had first been painted with white acrylic).
I've used lots of edging punches and dies, including this new Meridian border from Memory Box.  The postcard is a Tim Holtz stamp, the music, a Lili of the Valley, and the sentiment, a Cats Life Press.
The leave flourishes are Cheery Lynn, and the papers a mix of K and Co and Memory Box.  I didn't take a pic but I even made a box for the card, because it was too bulky to go in an envelope.

Thank you to everyone for your get well wishes, I'm feeling so much better now and hope to find some time to come and visit you real soon!!
