Father Xmas Gnome

I couldn't resist doing another wintery sky scene with Mo's Digital Pencil Christmas Gnomes.  This one is a merge of Father Christmas Gnome with his presents, and one of the Gnome Trees.

I've coloured with a mix of Promarkers and Copics  and there's also some Wink of Stella on the stars and tree berries but not picked up too well here. I created the snow by banging a White Posca pen with a ruler - so technical!!  The sentiment is a an old Cat's Life Press stamp which I still love!
I'm going to try and sort out some Christmas cards and paper for Holly's shop today- it's raining again, surprise, surprise, so other than housework, (sorry for swearing!) there's not a lot else to do!

Enjoy your Saturday!

Mo Merge of Carrying the Wood and Snowy House

I hadn't intended to make this card today but started colouring and that was it!!  I've merged two Mo's Digital Pencil images - Snowy House here and Carrying the Wood here.   And really that was all I did - no papers, no embellishments, just a simple sentiment from Paper Trey Ink.

I did use a technique  I'd seen the ladies from Lavinia Stamps using for the snow -  a White Posca Pen and a ruler to splat it!!

Hope you like!

Painting Stones

We had Violet over to play at the weekend  and I thought I'd let her loose with my Posca Pens - I know, right!  However, she was so good and she knew that they were some of Nanny's special pens  and I think she painted about a dozen stones to my one!!  The one above is mine (hope you realised that !!).  Last year, in the good old days, I had a fab weekend with my M&S girlies down in Deal, Kent and one of the girls picked this stone off the beach - I saw the little cottage relief in the stone right away - so Sally very kindly let me bring it home!   My painting is a little crude but I have to say I do love it!!

When Violet was leaving, my stone was the one she wanted to  take home but I managed to persuade her to take her banana stone (which was shaped like a banana and painted yellow!), the portrait she did of  me and a few others but the two below are the ones she left, including her self-portrait which I think is so gorgeous!!

I can see her wanting to use them more often -- eek!!

Happy Days!

Happy Summer with new Marianne Stamps

I finally found some time the other day to play with these gorgeous new floral stamp sets from Marianne Designs.  I sort of wanted to get a barge art effect when I started it out but it transformed into this!

I started with some dark chalk finish paper.  I stamped a variety of the stamps in Versamark and then added white embossing powder.  I tried a variety of different mediums to colour in the flowers and eventually settled on my Posca pens which gave this lovely, opaque, vibrant colour finish.
I then stamped the sentiment on another piece of the chalk paper and embossed it, then added a few more flowers (some of these are from the Marianne Make It Summer Stamp set from last year).

As you can see, I've not worried too much about colouring/shading or overspill of embossing powder as it all adds to the style!!

All the Marianne products I used are below (there is also a leafy set of these stamps in the same series!).
