Janey's Digi Designs Icelandic Poppy Seed Head (20% off at the minute!!)

Hi there, busy week for me and haven't been in blogland much but today I've had a fabulous day with bestie Lesley, and  another great crafting buddy, Alex Kamann, and eventually got this card out from  where it's been lurking in my head for the last few weeks!  I've used this awesome, Icelandic Poppy Seed Head from Janey's Digi Designs, (who also has a fabulous 20% discount at the minute) and used the colours from one of my blouses for the colour palette inspiration! (Pic below).
I coloured the image with Copics for a change - I've gone over the lines in one or two places, the seed pods were so tiny but I don't think it matters
As you can see, I also made my own background paper by making the image smaller and rotating it for variety.  The frame is a new Spellbinder one and I love how it frames this little beauty!
The little tag and sentiment are from PTI and the other items are from stash!
Gonna catch up with my blogging now!  Enjoy the rest of your Easter weekend!!xxx

SNS One for the Boys

Hello there - well we got back safe and sound from Norwich! We had a lovely time helping my BIL and niece celebrate their 50th and 21st birthdays respectively.
It was freezing cold and pretty much snowed all the way up but at least the roads kept clear.
This was the card I made for my BIL using King For The Day from Mo's Digital Pencil - perfect eh!  The sketch to use for this challenge is number 6 from our back catalogue with and optional theme of One For The Boys.
As you can see, I rotated the sketch to better fit the size of my image.  The sentiment is from Personal Impressions, I do love it and there are lots of different alternative Keep Calm ands...... Funnily enough this even looks a little like Neil, although I think he is rather more grey!!

My papers are a mix of Prima Craftsman and Websters Pages and the rosette and penant border are both Tim Holtz dies.
This fortnight's challenge is being sponsored by Fred She Said and some of my SNS teamies have made cards with their gorgeous images - check out all the fabulous DT cards here.
Have a great week - it's the start of two short working weeks here in the UK - yayyyyyyy!

Happy Easter at Basic Grey Challenges

Hi there - we have another challenge for you today over at Basic Grey Challenges!!  With Easter coming up could the theme be anything but Easter!  I, for one, am looking forward to the extra bank holidays as long as the weather keeps nice!! (Currently snowing here in London and we have a drive up to Norwich today, eek!)
For my card, I chose this gorgeous Mo Manning digi image of the March Hare -isn't he perfect for Easter cards, just click on the name to go to him and Mo's Digital Pencil.

I coloured him with my Pro and Flex markers and I think this is the first card in a long time that I feel happy with my colouring - while not completely gone, my mojo seems to have been on a bit of go slow lately!
My Basic Grey papers are a mixture of PB&J and Sweet Threads, the little sentiment is again cut with that Stampin Up punch -and the sentiment is Lili of theValley.  The rolled flowers are from a Marianne die and the leaves are a mixture of Martha Stewart and Woodware punches.

I do hope you will play along with us this challenge, just remember that you need to use a Basic Grey product and point out what that item is, especially if you want to be in with a chance of winning our fabulous regular prize of a $25 dollar voucher to spend in the Simon Says Stamp online store. Also do check out the makes by my teamies at Basic Grey challenges - they are all fabulous!!

I'd also like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Cute Card Thursday - Easter Parade
Paper Crafting Journey - Ribbon or Lace
Crafts and Me - Buttons and Bows
Creative Moments - Animals
I Love Promarkers - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp - Easter/Spring

Mo Blog Hop - Gingham Style!!

Yes, we're hopping today at Mo's Dream Team and have a gorgeous Gingham (or plaid) style theme as chosen by the fabulous Heidy (so hop on back over there if you want to join in the hop). If you are hopping, you should have arrived here from the blog of  the loveliness that is Jane's blog!

I keep want to say Gangnam style and I think my little cutie, Gimme a bee is dancing along to this tune!  You can find her in two versions by clicking on the link.

I was watching Glee on Sunday night when I decided to use the Cheerios gym uniforms as inspiration for my card colours! (Love Glee on a Sunday night - the perfect barrier before Monday morning and work!)
My papers are mostly scraps and the background paper was from a Theresa Collins paper pack. The hearts are from a Martha Stewart punch and the sentiment is a Stampin Up die with a PTI sentiment.

Your next stop on the hop is over to the fabulous Debby Y who I know will have an awesome make to show you.  Don't forget to comment on each DT member's post along the way as there are two spot prizes of  a $5 voucher to spend in Mo's Digital Pencil.

Passion for Promarkers Butterflies

Hello bloggers!  It's my turn to host our new challenge starting at Passion For Promarkers today and I've chosen a theme of Butterflies!  Now I know there's not that many about in the UK at the minute, we still seem to be in the depths of winter.  Spring can't be far around the corner though
and with the warmer days the butterflies will come!
I love this Saturated Canary stamp and her little jar of butterflies and thought she would be perfect teamed with this PTI pint jar die and stamp.
The papers are from a Tilda Summer Blues pad and the tree frame is a Memory Box die with various punches used for the butterflies.  I thought I'd add some cherry blossom to the brances with some liquid pearls but actually I think it looks a bit of a mess!

We have  the fabulous Digi Stamp Boutique  sponsoring us this week and the winner will get 6 gorgeous digi images.

My teamies have made some fabulous cards to share with you so check them out here!

Not a Christmas card!

Hello there and happy Sunday! I'm so sorry I've been a rubbish  blogger this week, tremendously busy at work with year end etc.  And in the evening, I've had loads of cards to make which hasn't left any time to visit anyone else :(  This week doesn't look a lot better either, I've got three cards to make this week, so I'm going to get cracking today.
This card was made yesterday for my daughter's boyfriend whose birthday was also yesterday!  Don't think I've ever done that before - make a card on the day it was due!  Anyway the snowboarding theme is because they are off to France skiing in a few weeks, so our gift to him was some Euros popped inside the card.  I'd actually made a pocket inside the card to put the Euros in and forgot to take a pic of that bit!
The image is a freebie from Bird's cards which you can find here. Over the years I've often turned to her blog for something I was after and have not been disappointed yet!  Thanks so much for the freebie!
I coloured the image with my Pro and Flexmarkers, tore some DCVW papers for myhills and the trees are a combo of Marianne and Dees Distinctly dies. The clouds are Memory Box and the sentiment is a Stampin up Die with a PTI sentiment.
Better get cracking now on those three cards!  I shall be glad when March is over, I have so many birthdays this month!! (Not me personally of course!)

SNS Spring Colours

Hello - hope you all had a fabulous Mother's Day if you were celebrating yesterday.  I had a lovely lazy day with a fabulous meal cooked by my lovelies!
Talking of lovelies, this little lovely is for our next challenge at Sketch N Stash.  We're using sketch number 5 from our back catalogue and we have an optional theme of Spring Colours.
My image is called Shirley from Mo's Digital Pencil which you can find here.
I've coloured her with my Pro and Flexmarkers and then used some Prima Melody papers to frame her.  I'd forgotten how pretty these papers are.  The flourish border is an EK Punch that I borrowed while at Lesley's on  Saturday - we did have a great day, thanks Lesley!xx

The little basket is a Marianne die and the rest is from stash.
We have TWO fabulous sponsors this week:

and

Prize, 2 sheets of digis

Wow, who wouldn't want to win either of those.  Check out my teamies' cards here for some more inspiration!!

Spring is in the Air at Basic Grey

Good morning all and Happy Saturday!!  Well it's cold, wet and miserable here in London with not even a hint of Spring but that's our theme at Basic Grey Challenges today - Spring in the Air!  As long as you use Basic Grey products we want to see your spring colours, spring images or spring themes!

I've used this gorgeous Saturated Canary digi image - there's nothing like sitting in the garden reading a good book! My papers are Basic Grey Kioshi, the frame is a Cheery Lynn (which the die cut flowers come with).  I thought it would be a good idea to use the thread through the holes around the frame.  Most of the other die cuts are from a K&Co. And the bliss ticket is of course Tim Holtz.

As always, the fabulous Simon Says Stamp are sponsoring us with their usual $25 voucher on offer for the lucky winner.

And don't forget to check our the wonderful inspiration by my BG teamies here!
I'm off for a day off crafting with best matey Lesley, we'll soon forget about  the awful day outside!!  Enjoy your day!

Stampin Up Stash

Just popping in really quickly to show you a card using my Stampin Up stash!  This is actually a wedding acceptance for the marriage of my nephew in May.  We received a Save The Date  Tea bag with a tag, last year to ensure that we, well, saved the date!  So I thought this gorgeous SU teacup would be ideal to accept their invitation (and it's in the Lake District!!).  The Tie the Knot sentiment is from American Crafts and the two butterflies are both punched  and stamped from SU goodies.  The embossed background seemed quite appropriate too - I inked it up first so that the debossed part reflected my pink hues!!
So glad it's Friday tomorrow, it's been a long, long week!

One for the Ladies at Passion for Promarkers

There's a new challenge starting today at Passion for Promarkers with this week's theme being chosen by the lovely Vicky!  One for The Ladies is the theme - couldn't be easier could it!
I've used this gorgeous Mo Manning image called Cupcake Princess Sienna which you can find here.  I took my colour scheme from these fabbie vintage papers that came free with Cardmaking and Papercrafting magazine this month!

I coloured her  with a mix of Flexmarkers and Promarkers and then added some Tulip liquid pearls around her dress and on the cake itself - they look a  bit like morello cherries!!

This week's challenge is being sponsored by Letraset which means we have two prizes up for grabs this week.  Two lucky entrants will each win a set of the new Promarker's Collector's sets.  Lucky, lucky, lucky peeps!

I hope we'll see lots of lovely entries with this week's theme but if you  need any more inspiration, check out the fabulous cards by my awesome PFP teamies here!
