Fright Night - PFP Challenge

Hi there, it's my turn to choose the challenge at Passion For Promarkers and of course, with Halloween almost upon us, I had to choose a spooky theme. Not really a spooky card though, with this little cutie from Mo Manning - Kitty Kai.  His cute expression reminds me of my dear little great nephew, Sammy, who is just adorable!
The house and trees are cut with Tim Holtz dies and layered onto some Graphic 45 papers from their Wizard of Oz range.  The letters are some I've had an age but cannot remember where from!!
The leaves are cut with a variety of punches that I have.
We're being sponsored this week by one of our own, Michele R designs.  Yes, Michele has designed some awesome digi papers and is offering three sets for the lucky winner of the challenge!  Yummy!!
My teamies on team one of the PFP Challenge have made some fabulous cards for the challenge which you can see here.

Enjoy the rest of your week!!

Basic Grey - Anything Goes

We have an Anything Goes theme for you at Basic Grey Challenges this time which was perfect as I needed to make a wedding card for my dear friend, Sue, who is getting married to Malcom today!!  Sadly, I can't be at the wedding, happily because I am in New York!!!  Hope you have a fabulous day Sue and Malcolm!

In many of the Basic Grey pads, you get some pages that are quite neutral and not patterned and I've used some from several packs including Sweet Threads, Sultry and Little Black Dress.  The image is from Mo Manning, called Married - they look so joyous!!!
My flowers are a mixture from Wild Orchid Crafts and The Hobby House.  The image is cut and layered with a Go Create die , the corners, Marianne, and the envelope is a Sizzix die.  The flourishes are PaperTrey Ink as is the sentiment. There's also a Magnolia die border thrown in for good measure - I think I've used just about every make of die out there!!!
You can just see above that I've also added some liquid pearls around the image and on her veil, and there's also some touches of glitter on her tiara and bodice - also on her ring if you can see that closely!!

We have our regular sponsor with us, Simon Says Stamp, with their regular awesome $25 voucher up for grabs to one lucky winner - just remember to use a Basic Grey product and tell us what it is.

You can check out the fabulous cards from my Basic Grey teamies here- you won't be disappointed!
Thanks for popping in!!

Boo! Spooked You Challenge at Whiff of Joy.

Today's card is for our new challenge at Whiff of Joy Challenges and as Halloween is so close, our theme for this challenge is Boo Spooked You! Before I tell you about my card, I also need to tell you about our new home - over on the Whiff of Joy World of Ideas blog - all the wonder of WOJ in one place! Sadly our fabulous Jane has stepped down from the challenge as she is starting to study - will really miss you Jane, loved working with you on WOJ Challenges!!

I don't do many Halloween cards, and so don't have any WOJ images suited to the spook fest.  I therefore had to put my thinking hat on and decided to use this little gnome who is usually pulling a heart along in his little cart, he's called Delivering My Heart to You.  I masked off the heart so it didn't show on my stamped image, and then stamped the pumpkins into the cart, which came from a WOJ Autumn Kit.
Delivering my heart to you
So, not very frightening, but nontheless getting his pumpkins ready for the spookiest night of the year!

My papers are Memory Box, Blackbird, the twigs are cut with a couple of Tim Holtz dies, and the sentiment is Cat's Life Press.  My pumpkin in the tree is a Martha Stewart punch.  I love the little wooden mushrooms which I've coloured up with some Distress Ink, I've added a couple of skeleton leaves, some spooky netting and that was me done!

Whiff of Joy are sponsoring this challenge to the tune of 15% off their next order for the lucky winner of the challenge!!

You can check out the rest of my teamies fabulous cards at our new home here!

New Sketch N Stash Challenge

Hello all  - I'm on countdown this week as we go to New York on Friday - and this pic is just like me doing the happy dance!!  So excited, as our three lovelies are coming with us this time (OH and I went 10 years ago!) and  I can't wait for them to see it!
This card is for our new challenge at SNS, with a fabulous sketch designed by our fabby Kevin.
I took my colour scheme from the papers I'd picked - Bo Bunny Gabrielle.  Not colours I would usually choose but I'm so pleased with how he turned out - by the way, he is a brilliant Mo Manning image, Hatter - just click on the link to find him!

The corner is a Quickutz die that I've had nearly from the beginning of my crafting journey - actually not a lot new here at all, I'm slipping!  The loopy die is a Martha Stuart Punch and that's about it!

Hope you like the look of Kevin's sketch and join in the challenge with us!   If you need any more incentive, we are being sponsored by the yummy My Mind's Craft Shop who have given us a £10 voucher for the lucky winner!

Don't forget to check out the fabulous makes by my SNS teamies here!

Have a great week everyone!!

Mo's Dream Team Monthly Blog Hop!!

Yes it's the 3rd Thursday in the Month and you know what that means!!  It's time for our monthly hop with the gorgeous gals on Mo's Dream Team.  The theme this month has been chosen by our wonderful Gretha who has chosen a theme of Animals on a Christmas Card.
You should have arrived here from Jane's blog, who I'm sure had something very witty to say and something very fabulous to show you but if you landed here randomly and you want to play along, hop back to Gretha's blog to start at the very beginning ( I feel a song coming on!!)

Talking of singing, I've chosen the fabulous image, Singin So Beautiful, for my card.
The paper on the base part of the easel is a Magnolia  12x12 sheet that I bought in the sales a while ago.  The music and snow flurry dies are Memory Box and the rest of the embellies are from stash.
I've used a Craftwork Cards, ready cut easel card base as my starting point and then cut the image with a similar shaped Go Create die.   I used a rooftop scene Stamp from Sheena Douglas because I just felt sure this cheeky trio were singing from the rooftops!!
A close up of that teeny, tiny mouse - didn't even realise that he was there, initially, what a great detail!!
I've used the bell trim to echo the bell collar that one of the cats is wearing.

Just a side view to finish off - always hard to show easel cards properly, I think.

Right then, well done for making it this far down my post - your next stop on the hop is over to the fabulous Debby4000's blog, who will have something wondrous to show you, I'm sure!   Oh and while you're hopping, don't forget to leave a comment on each of the team's blogs - there are a couple of vouchers for $5 dollars to spend in Mo's store for a couple of lucky commentors and it could be you!
Thanks for hopping in!

Bee Happy - Yellow and Black at PFP

This is so not my colour palette but I'm  rather pleased with how this turned out in the end  This is one of the first Mo images that I ever bought  and I still love it.  I think it works very well with the colour scheme that we have for you at Passion For Promarkers this week - Yellow and Black!

The image is part of a two-stamp digi set called North Pole Employees and you get another elf holding  a pressie!
My papers are Dovecraft, I think, and the die cut baubles are Stampin Up. The sentiment is also Stampin Up but cut with a Spellbinders banner die. The image frames are cut with the fabulous Marvellous Squares set from Spellbinders as are the corners which is one of the squares cut into four.
I've added some glossy accents to the round bauble that the elf is holding but I couldn't pick this up in my pics!!

Our sponsor for this week's challenge is the fabulous Joanna Sheen who is giving a £10 voucher to the lucky winner of this colour challenge!

The girls on team 1 at PFP have made some gorgeous cards using these colours, check them out here!
Hope you have a great day - Bee Happy!!!

Sparkle along with us at Basic Grey Challenges

Happy Saturday - love it when Saturday rolls around!!  And, only one more full week at work and then we're off to the Big Apple for 5 days !! Still, I can't let the excitement ratchet up too highly at the minute, still lots to do between times, including telling you about our new challenge at Basic Grey Challenges, which is Sparkle!
I've used one of my favourite Saturated Canary digi stamps - Cerridwen and teamed her with some fabulous papers from the Nook and Pantry Basic Grey pad. The doily shaped diagonal strip is also from the pad but I cut it out from a patterned sheet in the set.
Of course, I've tried to Christmasify it, so the sparkle requirement was perfect.  The smaller shaped layer behind the image is glittered paper, the ribbons shimmer and sparkle like no-one's business and the green diamante  drops are glistening away! The little gold discs are from a length of Christmas decoration that I have hoarded (they're are actually on their own ribbon but I used them separately here). The sentiment is a Cat's Life Press stamp.
We have our regular sponsor with us today, Simon Says Stamp, who are again offering an awesome $25 voucher to spend in their online store. Just remember to use a Basic Grey product on your card and the voucher could be yours!

The Basic Grey girls have made some wonderfully sparkly creations, this week so have a peek here if you need any inspiration to get your mojo in gear!!

I'm also entering my card into the following challenges:
Crafts and Me - Anything Goes
PaperCrafting Journey - Add some Bling
Simply Create - Anything Goes
Divas By Design - Anything Goes

Have a wonderful weekend!

New Mo Card and Mo Blog Hop Winner!

Hi - a very late post from me, it was parent's evening tonight for my youngest, Emily in her final year of A levels - always a pleasure, as she works so hard and it's reflected in her teachers' opinion of her!
I've been feeling proper poorly the last couple of days, think I've had a tummy bug or something, but could I take the time off work?  No - it's my busy deadline week!
Enough of that, I'm here to not only show you this adorable Mo image but also to announce that one of the winners of our last monthly hop was picked from the commentators on my post!!  Yippee and that lucky winner is Carol who wins a $5 voucher to spend in Mo's store!  Don't forget to look out for this month's hop which will be next week!!

Now, onto my card using the gorgeous Winifred - one of my favourite Mo images.

The papers are Papermania, and the bauble border by Memory Box just arrived today from MaddyLisa Crafts - great service and reasonable prices too!!

Need to do a bit of commenting now, so will sign off - night, night!!

Brown and White Whiff of Joy new challenge

This card is for the latest challenge at Whiff of Joy Challenges and we have a colour theme for you of Brown and White.
I've used this gorgeous  Norma Frickel gnome called From Heaven Above and I've gone with some heat embossing, including the image, using a copper coloured powder.   You can just make out the sheen in the pic below.  I then decided to heat emboss her hair which I kind of like. Her wings are embossed with a gold embossing powder although my pic doesn't really pic up the glittery effect.
The frame of snowflakes behind her was stamped (and embossed!) with a Martha Stewart Stamp around the page set.  The papers are My Mind's Eye and the Silent Night sentiment is from the new Christmas Grungy sentiments from Lili of the Valley
Our sponsor for this challenge is the fabulous Simon Says Stamp with an awesome $25 dollar voucher going to one lucky entrant!
I'm off to work now but need to get dressed first! Don't forget to check out the creations of my fabby WOJ teamies - they're gorgeous!! Have a lovely day whatever you're up to!
