Basic Grey - Anything Goes!!

Morning folks - what a glorious sunny day it is here in the UK - is it finally summer?!!!
I'm here with my card for our new challenge at Basic Grey Challenges and we have a fabulously easy theme of Anything Goes!!  Yes, you can do what you like - as long as you use a  Basic Grey Product and tell us which one!!
Our sponsor, as always is the wonderful Simon Says Stamp with our regular prize of a $25 credit voucher to spend with them.

I chose the gorgeous papers from the BG Plumeria  6x6 pad, such pretty colours!!  I then chose my image, yet another gorgeous lady from the Saturated Canary digi range!
I didn't want to cover up the papers too much so kept the embellies to a minimum ( for me!) The flower is from Wild Orchid, the sentiment is from Lili of the Valley and the lace and doily from stash.

I'm having real trouble with blogger at the minute, it's not showing all the publishing options when I'm preparing posts and the window isn't expanding as I type, so  I hope this looks ok!

Check out the stunning makes by my BG teamies here - I'm off to jump in the shower and enjoy the sunshine!  Have a great day yourselves!
(Help!! Just found I can't select words to link to the BG blog!!)

Mo's Monthly Blog Hop!!

If it's the third Thursday in  the month it can only mean one thing - it's time for the monthly hop with Mo's Dream Team!
The fabulously talented Pops is the hostess with the mostest and she has chosen  a lovely theme of Summer Colours!   Hopefully, you will have arrived here from Jane's blog (where no doubt, she had some stunning summer -coloured creation to share with you) but if you want to start at the beginning (a very good place to start!), then hop back over to Pop's blog.
For my card, I chose this gorgeous image called Between and she's just perfect for summer colours - nothing like lying in the sun reading a good book!
I've coloured her with my Pro and Flex markers and used a beautiful sheet of full-blown coral coloured roses but as it's been in my stash a while, I don't know the maker.
I also made some hand-rolled flowers with a Marianne die from the paper.
And then the little sentiment is so perfect from PTI!
The fabulous border and corners are cut with a Marianne Die.
Thanks for hopping by - your next stop on the hop is over to Debby's to check out her Summer creation!  Don't forget to leave a comment on each of the DT's cards as somewhere there are hidden a couple of $5 dollar vouchers, one of which could be yours!!
Have fun!!!!

Awwwh - goodbye Olympics!!

Do you know, it's been fantastic in London the last couple of weeks, the Olympics have been fantastic and the closing ceremony last night was awesome!!  So it seems rather fitting that my card today for the new challenge at Sketch N Stash is Olympic themed - and it's my sketch for this challenge!!
I've used this perfect Mo Manning image, Slam Dunk, for the challenge and as the card was for my BIL who had tickets for the Olympic basket ball sessions, it seemed doubly apt!
The papers are Papermania Portabello Road and the Union Jack ribbon is also from that range.
Just about the oldest item from my stash is the metal embellie below which is the nearest thing I had to a medal!!

Just a side view  to show all the layers!

Our sponsor for this challenge is:

My Mums Craft shop
with a gold medal-winning £10 voucher to spend with them!

My fabby teamies at SNS have created some awesome cards from my sketch, so check them out here! Our new boss, Daniele has also asked me to tell you a bit about myself so you can check that out too!!
Roll on the Paralympics now!!

Thank you cards!

Regular readers of my blog may remember me saying about my youngest daughter coming home rather late from her work experience on a West End show!  Well, the show that she was lucky enought to get her placement on was Chicago and she had a fantastic time.  So these two cards were thank yous to accompany some wine and chocs, for our neighbour and the cast and crew themselves.
A very simple technique of inking up an embossing folder and then pressing through my cuttlebug!  The sentiment die and tag are PaperTreyInk.

I suppose I should link these into some challenges but it's rather late and I'm feeling lazy!!

A Day at The Beach with the PFP team

Hello blogland - me back again with the latest challenge at Passion for Promarkers and we have a theme of At the Beach for you as chosen by our lovely Lisa!
If you're like me I love collecting shells and interesting stones when I go to the beach and so I used that for my inspiration.
I also wanted to use some new PTI stamp and die sets of these jars and the shell stamps.  I've also had this gorgeous mermaid in a jar image from A Day for Daisies for a while and I love her teamed up with the PTI goodies - the jar lid die cut even fit the ADFD jar perfectly!!
I've glittered her tail and some of the sand with my Spica pens but couldn't quite pic it up in my pics.  The papers are Websters and then I've added some neutral sand coloured papers for the beach, including  some glittered paper for that gritty effect!

Our sponsors for this challenge ar the fabulous Letraset themselves and they're offer one of the new Promarker Collectors set for the lucky winner.

Check out some more Beach Beauties here from the rest of the PFP team here.
Have a great Tuesday!

Love through the ages!

Hiya - I was asked to make a Golden Wedding Anniversary card, and didn't quite know what to make. So, I was looking through my Mo Manning images and decided to use not just one but three - Date, Bride and Groom Dancing, and Jack and Ginger!  All of these can be found under the Romance section here at Mo's!

Don't think my colouring is quite the business under this close scrutiny but actually the images are quite small on my card, so the overall view is ok!!
The papers are DCWV Mariposa, the flourishes are a PTI Die and matching flourish and then a few bits and pieces from stash.
Hope you like my golden card - it's been a golden weekend too, here in London, just amazing scenes in the Olympics - go Team GB!!!

Feeling Bright and Bold?

Hi all - Happy Saturday!
This is my card for the new challenge at Basic Grey Challenges and we have a theme of Bright and Bold! Well, for someone who always seems to use a lot of colour, I'm not sure if I've fulfilled that brief!  Maybe striking!!  I've used this gorgeous Saturated Canary digi image and I didn't want to detract from her by using too much in the way of papers or other colours!

A first for me, is the dotty effect around her using various shades of Viva pearl drops.  I've also used some stickles on her dress to give a bit of texture and sort of a tulle effect which I imagine her gorgeous gown to be made of!

The corner die is a JoyCraft die and the sparkly flower is Prima.  And of course, my Basic Grey papers are from the Indie Bloom Pack.
As always we're being sponsored by the fabulous Simon Says Stamp and as always, they're giving the lucky winner and $25 voucher to spend in their on-line store.

(Please note: This is a voucher code that entitles the winner to a $25 saving off their order in Simon Says Stamp, P+P charges will still apply unless the conditions are met to earn free P+P, please check here if you would like to see these conditions)

More inspiration can be found here from the rest of the awesome BG team.

Have a great day whatever you're doing. Me, I'm going to catch up on my blogging whilst enjoying the Olympic Athletics on the TV - go team GB!!!!

Hearts and Krafts at Whiff of Joy

Still playing catch up - this is my card for our new challenge at Whiff of Joy Challenges that started this morning (only 12 hours behind instead of 24!).  The theme is Hearts and Kraft - yayyhh, I love Kraft!  I've used the gorgeous Baking Tray of Love - the hearts of course, and I love how the smoke is curling into the heart shape!
All my flowers are hand-rolled using a Marianne die to cut them out first. The  large heart is a Memory Box die and the small corner ones are a  Quickkutz die that I've had almost from day one.  The edger die cut is a new to me Magnolia edge die and there's also a Memory Box tessatina die slipped in for good measure.
The papers are Pink Paislee Spring Jubilee.
This fortnight our sponsor is Whiff of Joy themselves with a brill 15% off your next order with them!

The lovely ladies on the WOJ challenge team never fail to inspire me - check out their wonderful makes for this fortnight's challenge here!

Hope to see you playing along with us!
