Whatever the Weather at Passion for Promarkers

Sorry I'm late posting today's card but I've been on Nannie duties last night and this morning, :)
It's my challenge choice over at a Passion for Promarkers this week and I've chosen a theme of Weather.  I've played a bit fast and loose with my theme but hey, you can't have a day at the Seaside unless the sun is shining......well as long as it's not raining, here in the UK, I think the rule is!!
My image is a scrummy new one from Mo's Digital Pencil called Sailor - I love her, I do have a thing for sailor images  - All the Nice Girls Love a Sailor ( know that tune?).
The edge frame is cut with a Fiskars two in one die -I love these as they making punching a frame so simple. The little anchor die was free with a magazine recently, papers are Graphic 45 and there's a cheeky little Marianne Die thrown in at the bottom which I thought looked a bit wave-like, details below:
LR0344- Anja's Border Elegant (and looks like it's in stock here at Crafts U Love- just saying!)

My teamies at PFP have done me proud with the theme - check them out here if you'd like some inspiration, then come and play along!

Our generous sponsor this week is LC Designs who are offering one lucky winner a prize of 4 digis of their choice.  There are so many gorgeous digis in their store you will be spoilt for choice.

Have a great week, everyone,

Alcohol Ink Card

I made this card for my daughter's partner which I thought would be appropriate as he was going to be a Daddy.  His birthday came and went in a bit of a blur as Holly was in labour but his beautiful daughter Violet was born the day after on the 17th, and rather overshadowed his.  I don't think he really minded though!

I love the drip technique of working with these inks, thanks to my bloggy friend, Jane Clempson!
A simple card to start with but very effective and then I just added a Lili of the Valley big sentiment.
Our new and first grandchild, Violet Lily Rose is a little treasure and asleep in her moses basket here with me now while mum has a rest too, lucky Nannie I am!!

Spring Blog Hop with Mo's Dream Team

We have had a couple of glorious days up here, more and more lambs are appearing in the field next to our house, so it's really starting to look a lot like spring!! I was therefore really in the mood to make this card, despite wondering if baby's arrival would prevent me!
The start for this month's hop is over on the lovely Hellen's blog, if you want to start at the very beginning!  Otherwise you should have hopped over to me from Gretha's blog.

I love this image from Mo, Easter Chickie, a proper spring image methinks.

I've coloured chickie with my promarkers, and teamed him up with some gorgeous papers from Craft and You design, Easter Greetings which I got from Love to Craft and Create here. And my Marianne Dies are below, all new!!  I'm so loving these new March release dies, especially the bulrushes and ducks!

LR0407 - Decorative border
LR0409 - Bulrushes
LR0410 - Ducks

Right, it's time now for me to send you on to the blog of  the lovely Gaynor.  Before you go though, remember to leave a comment on the post of every blog that you visit as there are two hidden $5 dollar vouchers to spend in Mo's store, and yours could be the lucky comment!
Happy Spring and Happy Hopping!

Child's Birthday at Passion for Promarkers

We had the most glorious day yesterday here in the Lakes and the farmer has started putting the new lambs into the field next to our house!  Spring has well and truly sprung, thank goodness!  My card for today is for our new challenge starting over at Passion for Promarkers where our theme this week is  a Child's Birthday.  Great choice of theme, Eileen!
I've used our sponsor's image Spider Wort Sprite from Aurora Wings, perfect for a child's card, well a girl's anyway!
I matched her up with some Prima Pixie Glen Papers and then added a few Marianne Dies, as below:

Basket: LR0404
Circle: CR1331
Lamb: LR0358
Oh and the flowers in the basket are also from Marianne Designs.

As mentioned, our fabulous sponsors this week are Aurora Wings and they are offering the lucky winner a yummy $15 voucher to spend in their Etsy store.

Please do check out the beautiful makes of my teamies at PFP here.

Looks like the sun is shining again today, so I'm off to do a food shop and then it's back in the garden this afternoon!

How to be a Wizard from Mo

Just hopping on quickly to share my card using, Mo's How To Be A Wizard, such a great little guy card.
I've coloured him with Promarkers, used a LOTV sentiment, and some Marianne Dies.  It's not often this happens, but I wanted a star shape for the sentiment and then used the waste centre of a really ornate large star die from Marianne (LR0369).  I also used a Marianne die for the star banner (CR1294), and their book die (LR0253) which I stamped with a Kaisercraft script stamp.

I had thought this image would be perfect for my 4 year old, great-nephew, Sam and his recent birthday, but I've been informed that he doesn't like wizards and mum had to put one in the freezers at Sainsburys!  LOL, love him!
That's all from me for now.

Felted flowers

A few felted flowers to share and this one I made into a brooch and sewed on a few seed beads in the centre.
I've included a few pieces wool rovings above so you can see what I started with.

The purple one above was for my MIL for her birthday and the one below, is for me! I've yet to add some beads to prettify it!
I also made a little heart and a little  pink flower which I shall probably use on cards.

Thanks for popping in!

Toadstool Felted scene

More felting to share, this time mostly wet felting, although I did use needle felting to make the flowers.  I mostly worked on this at my weekly Crafternoon session in town, space to spread out!
Wet felting involves water, soap and bubble wrap!  I bought the kit at Wool Fest last year - a fantastic show here in the north of Cumbria relating to all things wool -  spinning, dying, live sheep (other animals were available!), clothing, fabric, vintage goodies, I loved it.  Can't wait for this year's in June.
I loved making the flowers out of the wool rovings and am definitely going to incorporate more in my card making.
I could only part with this if I could see it regularly and so I'm going to give it to Holly for baby's nursery - still no signs of baby arriving, four days over now!!
Fingers crossed that tomorrow is the day!

Mummy to Be Card

My gorgeous number 1 daughter is due to have her baby any day now, in fact she's now a couple of days overdue.  Anyway, I made this card for her as she awaits her very special delivery.  The image is called Mother to Be 1 and is here at Mo's Digital Pencil
These cute little vests and hangers are cut with a Memory Box die and isn't the little high chair charm cute!  The sentiments are from PTI and the papers are Hello Baby from Lemoncraft again, they are yummy!  and of course, you may have spotted a few Marianne Dies in there as follows:

Large Die Cut Safety Pin -
Stork Stamp and Die Set - COL1381
Frame from Petra's Birds die set - LR0351
Small clockface die - CR1234
Metal mini safety pins

I've gone with the mix of pink and blue as we don't know the sex. although I understand that one of our great nieces has said that it's coming today and it's a girl!!

Not long now I'm sure!
Happy Weekend and a Happy Mother's day (UK) on Sunday

I've been doing some felting!

I've fallen in love with felting!  I bought a couple of kits last year and then started looking at Pinterest as to what else I could make.  These fairies were my first attempt (I've made a few) and it really is therapeutic - stabbing away at the felt with a barbed needle, what a brilliant way to vent all your stress, amongst other things!
I've also done some flowers and some wet felting of a toadstool scene that I'm really happy with - will show this another day.
It's D day today - due date for baby to arrive but no signs yet, probably be snuggled up in mummy's tummy for a few days yet, so can't wait to meet him or her!!

Passion for Promarkers Girls Only

Today's card is for our new challenge starting at Passion for Promarkers today and the theme is Girls Only.  I've used this wonderful image, Snow Queen from our sponsors Sassy Studio Designs, isn't she a beauty!
Just wanted to show a close up here of the little strip of vellum which I think add a nice texture and depth.  I actually bought them, very cheap, but of course they're bound to be very easy to cut yourself with a trimmer!

The papers are from Love to Craft and Create,  Forget Me Not by Lemoncraft and they have the most yummy ranges of shabby chic/vintage papers. The flowers are from stash and the usual goodies from Marianne Designs are listed below:

Frame Die - LR0371
Decorative Border Die - LR0396
Pearl Swirls - CA3101
Diamond Gems

Our generous sponsor this week is Sassy Studio Designs who are offering one lucky winner a $20.00 voucher to spend in their online store.  There are so many gorgeous digis in their store you will be spoilt for choice.
