Hi there - sorry I'm late posting again - had a very busy weekend and as my laptop died I'm having to cadge some time on other PCs at home and work to comment and write my posts.
This card is for the new challenge at
SNS - our first for 2013 and we've decided to make use of the fabulous back catalogue of sketches that SNS has and use them again, starting from the very beginning (a very good place to start!) with an optional theme each challenge just to switch things up a bit.
So here is Sketch One and the optional theme is Vintage.
We also have some fab new sponsors this year the first one being Live and Love Crafts who are generously offering a £10 store voucher to the lucky winner!
My card was for my daughter, Emily's 18th birthday (last Thursday) and we had some lovely celebrations! Great night out at White Bear in Warlingham on Saturday - haven't laughed so much in quite a while. I've
used this fabulous image from Mo called
Jo Painting (well I've renamed it Em Painting) as it is just perfect for Emily as she loves her Art and is doing fantastically well in her final year of A Level. Very similar to the image too, with long, long hair and as thin as a whippet!!
To fit in with our Vintage theme at SNS, I tried to muddy up the colours and and added some texture around the image with some Viva Pearl liquid.
My papers are a mix of DCWV and K&CO, both 12 x12n pads, one of which was from best matey, Lesley(and Em's godmother) for Christmas. I've also used a couple of vintage diamante buckles and some tulle roses for more added vintageness.
Finally, the large flower I made by stamping with a Stampin Up script stamp onto tissue paper and then cutting it with a Spellbinders petal nesting set.
Check out the rest of my fab teamie's makes
here over at the SNS Challenge and don't forget to tell us what is new and what is old from your stash.
Hoping the hubby has gone to buy me a new laptop today, I feel bereft without it and even the work arounds can't work around for very long! He may then try and fix my old one (we think it's just the screen) and use it himself!
Hope you're not suffering too much from the snow here in the UK - it's bitterly cold in my office as the boiler has gone caput!!
