Embossing Powders card

This was a very simple card for my son's birthday.  I took embossing powders, mostly from the Aged Frantage range and heated them, adding little more powder until I was happy with the effect and then mounted behind a circle aperture to look like a planet.

The sentiment is from Kaisercraft - YOU! set.

The bottom pic shows the shine effect!

It's a dull and dismal day here in the Lakes so think I may crack on with Christmas cards until go to collect our little V after school!

I do love a gnome at Christmas and I've loved using these new stamp and die Gnome sets from Marianne Designs.  They look perfect with the Marianne truck too!  I've made a batch in several different colour schemes and with some older Marianne papers but I've just received my DT pack for October and there are some new lovely papers - I think I'll be having a play this afternoon!

The only thing non-Marianne is the white snowflake frame - I bought it second hand so don't have the brand sorry.  Anyway, fully list of Marianne goodies below

Passion for Markers - Favourites

I'm sitting in the hostess chair for this week's challenge at Passion for Markers where I've chosen a theme of Favourites.  It can be anything - your favourite tool, product, embellishment, paper, type of card - the list is endless.  Just mention in your post what is your favourite item as I'd love to know when I visit!  I love die cuts and design paper and bright colours - I do try more muted but come back to the brights!  And, don't forget to use your markers on your card and let us know which ones you've used - colouring is also a favourite in my card making process.

As we're being sponsored by Dr Digi's House of Stamps, I've used this fab Morag the Moo image from their catalogue - I do love a Highland Cow - we have a few up here in the Lakes and it's always lovely to spot them when out on a walk.

I've also used a few Marianne die cuts - details below.

Marianne Products Used

Art Texture XL Leaf Die - CR1598 - NEW!
Small Rectangle Frame- CR1563
Text Banner Dies - COL1507

As our sponsors, Di Digi are giving the lucky winner 2 digi images of their choice so do come and join in the challenge.

I look forward to seeing your makes!

Broken Ankle Crochet project

When I broke my ankle at the beginning of this year, crochet was a life saver as it was something I could do keeping my ankle up etc.
I made this one for my daughter's birthday in May and she chose the colour scheme.  For the life of me I can't remember the pattern although I know I added the borders. Anyone who recognises the pattern let me know!
