Colour Create's 50th Challenge !!

Another fortnight has sped by and I'm here with my card for Colour Create's 50th challenge!!!  Woohoo, isn't that  Golden or something!!  Loved all the fabulous entries last week for Janiel's challenge - so many gorgeous cards!!

This week, our challenge has been set by the lovely Victoria who has chosen this picture as your starting point.

Specifically, the colours are Hot Pink, Warm Orange and Saffron with the optional extra of butterflies.  Victoria is also sponsoring this week's challenge and has a pile of Stampin Up goodies for one lucky person!!!
I made an easel card for the challenge and while I loved using these colours, I feel my card is a little busy!!!  Love this little Ketto image from Stampin Bella which is coloured with Promarkers.  The butterfly papers are from DCWV Garden Party stack and the pink circle paper is Basic Grey.  The gerbera type flowers are from my local £1 shop and the sentiment is Hero Arts.
You can just see here too that I punched out one of the butterflies from the paper using the large Martha Stewart punch.

The rest of the Colour Create DT have made some truly glorious cards and makes so hop on over and feast your eyes!!  Hope to see you joining in over the next two weeks too!!

Hi y'all!!  Didn't you just enjoy the distressing theme over at PFP last week!!  Lots of fab entries!  Our challenge this week has been set by the lovely Sue C and she's chosen greens as her theme!!  You must check out her great tut too on the Weekend Workshop over at PFP.

We're being sponsored by Pink Gem Designs this week and you could win a stamp from the gloriously cute selection that Janet has created.

I followed the great sketch over on the Lily of the Valley challenge for my card and, of course, this wonderful LOTV image which I have been raring to use.
I made it at my great matey, Lesley's house last Saturday, along with  the wonderful Alex, who just happened to have the perfect sentiment with her from PTI for this image!   We had a  great day of making and sharing!!!  My papers are Basic Grey Origins and the rest is from stash.

I have another day off today and plan to be lazy (no change there then!) and just make cards!! Woohooo!!!

Mostly Monochromatic Kraftin Kimmie 39 and Friday Sketchers 119

I couldn't resist some of the new Kraftin Kimmie Fairy Tale girlies when I saw them over on Quixotic Paperie - Snow White here is just one of the fabbie new stamps!!  I've been racking my brain to think how I could use one to make a card for my niece who is moving into her new home this weekend.  Well, she loves Disney and all things Florida, and when I remembered I had this little castle stamp from Paper Artsy ( and the sentiment stamp) I had a little eureka moment!!

Over on Kraftin Kimmie the current challenge is Mostly Monochromatic so I mostly used my red Promarkers!  I also followed the Friday Sketchers layout this week which was great and perfect for what I wanted to do!  I did adapt it slightly using two images and bringing the back oblong shape to the fore with my Snow White girlie but I think you can still see the sketch!

Isn't it typical, I've had the day off work today and have had a flippin headache all day that just won't shift!!!  Probably doesn't help being on here but I'm addicted!!!

Hugs and love,

Cute Card Thursday and You'll want to Win these!!

This is a card following a great sketch over on Cute Card Thursday this week.  I used this image from the Flipping Men range - now I have to confess that I am not a fan at all of these images but when I saw that they were on offer over at Image-e-Nation I couldn't resist.  All EIGHT sets of Flipping Men were on offer for £20 and you got all EIGHT sets of Flipping Women thrown in too and no postage!!  Honestly, 16 sets of stamps for £20 and they come with loads of fab sentiments and small accessory stamps.  For me, I do struggle with men's cards so thought they would be useful just to have a few humorous images in my stash which are often more suitable than cutsey ones.

I coloured him in with Distress Inks, which I haven't used for quite a while so it was nice to use a different medium.  The background paper is from a 7 Gypsies set - Calais, and the floral paper, I cut round from a piece of Basic Grey Origins.
I downloaded the seed packet image and distressed all the edges. I think the sentiment is by Woodware but I've got rid of the packaging so I can't be sure.  Finally, you may just be able to  see a little glossy accents on his buckle and beer glass.

Now for some really exciting news of a chance to win the whole set of Aqua Markers from LetraSet!!!  Yep, the whole set of 40 colours are up for grabs on Passion For Promarkers - get over there and check it out.  Last summer, before I had even dreamt of being part of the fantastic team over at PFP, I won the whole new release of 53 new colours from  a draw on the blog, so go and enter your name - it's the most fantastic feeling to win something like this!!
Letraset are relaunching the range and have given the PFP Blog this fabulous set to give away as well as some runner up prizes of sets of 12!!  We'll be using them on the DT team over the coming weeks, so you will get some ideas of what they're like!
That's why I thought I'd give my watercolouring skills a brush up!!  Oh, I wish we could enter - best of luck to you all!!!

Missed the deadline and Crafty Emmas New Store!!

Something a little different from me for a change!  Thought I'd use my Fresh Cuts stamp set from Stampin Up for this sympathy card that I needed to make.  I used the sketch over on Our Creative Corner but should have loaded up my card last night - never mind!!  Don't think my pics that great  either - oh well, never mind!!!

I've also been meaning to post about the new on-line store that Crafty Emma, one of my gorgeously lovely teamies over on Passion for Promarkers, has recently opened - Crafty Emma's Store  it's called funnily enough!!  Do go and check it out as she has loads of scrummy goodies that are just up my street!!

Just thought I'd give a shout out for this new venture - my idea of heaven!!!! Emma also has some fab loyalty offerings so go and check it out!!

Passion For Promarkers No 61 - Distressing!!

Thanks to everyone who took part in my challenge on PFP last week - we had so many fabulous entries - check into PFP later to see who I finally  chose for my top five - so difficult I can tell you!!

This week our challenge has been set by the wonderful Michelle who is so fantastic with Promarkers-and she's given us lots of tips and ideas on her weekend tutorial - take a look here!  Michelle has chosen distressing as her theme this week - I love this style of card - really must do more of them!

We're being sponsored this week by Just Tracy's and one lucky entrant could win a set of 14 clear stamps (No 485) from the Oliver's Orchard range - wow!!

Now onto my DT card for this week - I've used this gorgeous  sailor girl Cheeky Cherry from The Greeting Farm.

As well as being my DT card for Passion for Promarkers this week, I'm also entering it into the following challenges:

Sketch Saturday - for the sketch (doh!)
Basic Grey - Use Gingham- backing paper, bunting and buttons
Sweet Stampin - Photo Inspiration and bunting

The yellow papers are from the Nook and Pantry Basic Grey pad as is the striped piece at the bottom.  The rest are from stash from various places!  I distressed all the edges then inked them with Stormy Skies Distress Ink and then added Picket Fence Crackle Paint.

I made the gingham bunting from some gingham squares that I bought because I liked them- knew they'd come in handy!

The flower I made a while ago from scraps - I'm using them very sparingly!!

I hope you like, I do, even though I say so myself!!  Didn't think I would when I was assembling it so glad it turned out as well as it did in the end!!

Colour Create Challenge 49 - Warm Pinks, Chocolate Brownand White

Time for another challenge over on Colour Create and this week's colours and piccie have been chosen by  the uber talented Janiel.  Here's the pic:
Janiel has chosen the colours, warm pinks, chocolate brown and white, with the optional extra of  ' girlie'.   Lovely jubbly!!  This week we're being sponsored by I did It Creations and quite a few of the DT have used some of their fab images.  I chose this gorgeous little lady called Daisy Days.
She so reminds me of the little wooden dolls that were about when I was a little girl - love it!!  Daisy's coloured with my Promarkers ( as opposed to anyone else's!!) and I've used Laundry Line papers from DCWV.  They match the image so well!!  Can't remember who the metal sentiment is by but it 's been in my stash for years and seemed made for the image ( and my not so perfect doodling!!)
I'm also entering my card into this week's Sketch Saturday as this is where the layout came from - such a great sketch!!

Don't forget to hop over to Colour Create to check out the wonderful makes from my fabbie teamies ( I love saying that!!!).

Lots of love all!

Passion for Promarkers - Week 60 - Animal theme

Hello and here we are again with another challenge at Passion For Promarkers.  I so loved visiting everyone who submitted a funny card for last week's challenge - I've had a stupid grin on my face for most of the last week!!

On to this week's challenge, which has actually been set by yours truly!!  I've chosen animals as my theme for the week, which is quite funny really as I don't very often do animal cards!!  It was this image that made me do it - I fell in love with it when I saw it at Doodle Palace Designs and had to use it for my weekend workshop tutorial - hop over to the PFP Weekend Workshop to take a peek!!
I started preparing the tutorial a couple of weeks ago when I was at my friend, Lesley's, for a crafting and gossiping fix and she very kindly allowed me to use these papers from Sizzix (the wave paper and the little dove is cut out from these papers).  I've also used some Basic Grey papers from the Origins pad.
To add a bit of dimension, I've added the chipboard 'wave' on the front, which I've also coloured with my PMs in Ice Grey 1.  The rainbow and clouds were cut with a QuicKutz die  and the chipboard arrows and 'sun' were from stash.  Finally, the baby letters are from Cosmo Cricket.

For our challenge this week, we're being sponsored by Simon Says Stamps and you could win a gift voucher for a little stash dash in their on-line store!!

I do hope you'll squeeze some time in to take part in my PFP challenge week - can't wait to see your creations using all those lovely animal images that are out there in craftland - just remember to use your Promarkers!!

Bluebell girl for the Sugar Bowl!!

Hi everyone

Hot enough for you!!  Too hot for me and have hidden out in my craft room this afternoon to make this card using the Sugar Bowl current sketch from Judy (which I've rotated.  I've used this fabby little lovely from Sugar Nellie and coloured her in blue tones with my Promarkers.

I cut her out with nesties and then while it was still in the frame, shaded with chalk so that the white edging was left.  Papers are KaizerKraft, and Garden Party from DCWV.  Flowers are cut with the EK success retro flower and finished off with some new blooms (aster daisies?) from Wild Orchid.  Oh and the extra from the Sugar Bowl is to use scallops which are on my doily, below the image (with Martha Stewart punch) and also a little on the DP

Off to get a little sun now - hopefully it will be a little cooler.  And then- shall we or shall we not go and see the new Twilight tonight......?

You're Having a Laugh!!!

Well, actually we are over at Passion For Promarkers this week!!  This funny challenge has been set by my fab teamie, Emma and her theme is Give Us A Laugh!!  Isn't that great!!  Having said that, I'm usually the only one in my family who finds my jokes funny, so let's see!

Our sponsor this week is The Craft Garden and you could a win a £10 gift voucher to spend with them!! They stock all sorts of fab flowers and embellies so what are you waiting for!!

I've used this wonderful Kraftin Kimmie image, for my card, and she's asking the age old question that should never be answered, especially when the asker looks as feisty as this little madam!!

Don't forget to check out the rest of the DT cards over at PFP, they're sure to put  a smile on your face!

I used Basic Grey Lemonade papers and a little scrap of MME Garden party ( the green check). The ribbon is from Wild Orchid Craft and the pins are from Quixotic Paperie.
I printed the sentiments on my PC and then cut them out with an oval scalloped punch from Stampin Up.  The image is cut with a Nellie Snellen die and then backed onto dark paper which is just peeping through.

I'm also entering this into the following challenges:

Basic Grey - I used their photo inspiration
Sweet Stampin Challenge -  Pearls and Pins
Quixotic Paperie - Sketch and have to use something which can be bought from there ( image and pins }
Simon Says - Check it Out

That's all from me for now, still need to visit a few peeps blogs, so do bear with me!!

Just a Quickie that took all day!!!

Morning all

I'm feeling a little weary this morning - we were out last night celebrating Nick's cousin's 42nd birthday!!  ( A belated 40th!!.)   A really great evening at a lovely country house- lots of chat and catching up with Nick's huge extended family, a spot of dancing thrown in too!!

I needed to make a card for the said cousin and this took me virtually the whole of Saturday!!  What!!!!!  I can hear you exclaim - no big deal, there's not alot of work there!!

I couldn't agree more but what took the time was looking on the web for a suitable sentiment or quote for the image and occasion!!  I tell you, I spent hours trawling the web and came up with zilch!!  So it was delivered with no sentiment on the front!!  He does enjoy playing guitar, hence the image from Mo's Digital.  I coloured the image with Promarkers and used my blender to achieve the mottled look on his t-shirt by picking up the colour from the pen onto the blender nib - rather pleased with the effect!!  The background paper is from Basic Grey Kraft basics set, and also used Kraft card for the embossed panel.  Don't know the name of the turquoise piece!!  Guitar charm, I think was from The Works!

I need to seriously catch up with some blogging today - so hope to pop by later!!  I've also got to go shopping for clothes for Emily's work experience - she's at Grazia magazine for the next two weeks, how fab is that for her!!  Also have to make a DT card and pick up my niece from Euston station!!  Oh, and want to watch the tennis and catch a bit of sun!!  Better get cracking then, I'm still in my nightie!!  See you later!

COLOUR CREATE 48!!!

It's time for another challenge at Colour Create -wow, we had some fabulous entries for our Mad Hatter aka Johnny Depp inspired photo last time around - wasn't it a fun photo!!  This week the photo has been chosen by Di - what an awesome cake!!

The colour scheme is baby pink, peach and black with the optional extra of lace or tulle.  We're being sponsored this week by Michelle's Scrapbooking so check out the Colour Create Challenge blog to see what you could win!  As always, the DT cards and makes are just awesome so do hop on over there!!
Does anyone know this poem?:
I wonder, I wonder if anyone knows
Who lives at the heart of the velvety rose.
Is it a goblin, or is it an elf,
Or is it the Queen of the fairies herself?

My M-I-L always used to recite this to all the grandchildren when they were little and so this is what inspired  my card, with this gorgeous Longing Tilda image (coloured with promarkers).  I had intended to use the verse on the card but felt it would have spoilt the balance so I may well include it inside when I decide who I'm sending the card to -probably my M-I-L, she would love it!!

To make the card, I cut out several different layers on pink Basic Grey paper using my Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die and the Blossom nesties.  I then stamped these in black ink with the Roses Hero Arts cling stamp, curled  and inked the edges with Black Soot and Victorian Velvet distress ink.
For the largest layer, I used my largest scalloped nestie and cut into it to make look like petals. The black flourishes and leaves are Sizzix dies and the sentiment is from a wonderful new set by Crafty Secrets, called Cupcakes (bought at the Craft Barn).  The tulle and rose charm are from Quixotic Paperie and the pearls from my stash.
I originally made this little cupcake for the challenge using the Crafty Secrets set again, but didn't feel it quite translated from the idea in  my head!  However, it does look rather sweet with my card so have uploaded it to show you!
Hope you're still with me after this rather long post!  Enjoy the challenge and good luck!!

Hugs,Photobucket
