Everything's Coming up Roses!!

Love this little Tilda which I got from the Spring Set last year, and thought it would be perfect for the great sketch by Jane over on Just Magnolia this week.
All coloured with distress inks, mainly the new Spun Sugar and Bundled Sage, including the roses and butterfly, again from the Spring Set  2009. Already decided on these fab colours and saw then saw that the Secret Crafter wanted Pink and Green with Flowers! Sentiment and flourish frame are from Stampin Up and the DP is Laura Ashley.  Had a great time colouring in all the roses, which I've layered up to add dimension which fits in with the Cute Card Thursday challenge this week. They're also blinged up with Diamond Stickles to fit in with Simon Says (glimmer).  All in all, I'm entering 5 challenges with this card as follows:

Just Magnolia - Sketch
Secret Crafter - Pink and Green with Flowers
Colour Create - Pastel Colours
Simon Says - Easter/Spring with Glimmer
Cute Card Thursday - Dimension

Hope you're all having a great weekend out there in blogland!! Thanks for stopping by!

Anyone for some bubbly?

Yet more fab stamps that I couldn't resist, this time from the Cheeky Cherries range from the Greeting farm-love their retro feel!  Coloured with promarkers and again, I used BG papers - Nook and Pantry again  - can't get enough of BG papers at the moment.  Had the idea to sit her on the edge of a champagne glass a la Dita Von Teese but the Magnolia stamp I had wasn't big enough so I copied it free hand but sized it up!  It doesn't show on the photo but I also glossy accented it to make it look like glass!!
Sentiments and letters are from Cosmo Cricket and flowers are Prima Hydrangeas.  I also thought I'd try a set of the Nellie Snellen nesting dies and I must say they give a great result as you can see on the centre circle.

Card has been sent to my friend Lesley, thanking her for a great  crafty day at her house last weekend. Two challenges for this card - Cupcake Crafts No 83 where the theme is Food and Drink, and Quirky Crafts challenge, no 24, that I've just discovered, as they want flowers and cute!

Simply Spring!!

I was practising my stitching on this piece of paper - Nook and Pantry from Basic Grey, so then had to make a card up!  Entering this into four challenges:

Passion for Promarkers No 44 which wants your springtime creations with the inclusion of an animal.  So I teamed up this sweet little doggie from Sugar Nellie with the ever lovely Tilda.  Sentiment is from a Hero Arts set and the buttons were a gift from my matey, Alex.
The Crafty Calendar challenge No 6 this month is for Flower Power
Secret Crafter No 75 is to show that Spring has Sprung!
Pile It On Challenge is to use Furry Friends!!

Can't pile on any more than that but thanks for stopping by, and thanks heaps too if you do manage to leave a comment - I know time is precious but so are your comments to me!!!

Four challenges and an Engagement!!

As it says in the title , I've managed four challenges with this card:

Whiff of Joy No 71 - Easel Card
Friday Sketchers No 94 - Sketch ( of course!)
Sweet Stamping No 18 - Spring (spring flowers, pastel colours)
Ooh La La Creations No 49 - Anything goes (Also Ooh La La as it is my niece, La, who has just got engaged!)

Image is one of the divine new Norma Frickel stamps from Whiff of Joy-I love them so much!!  Coloured with Distress Inks and I used the BG new papers - Kioshi and Green at Heart - again these are absolutely fabulous.
Tulle is from Quixotic Paperie as are the pearls on the butterfly (Martha Stewart). Flowers are from Wild Orchid and ribbon is from stash.  Oh and the cute little Bee Happy sentiment that comes with the image is cut out using the Stampin Up window punch.
Many congratulations to Charlotte and Alex - looks like we've got a Christmas wedding to look forward to!!

Just getting round to post this - MIL's card for Mother's Day! - another tent card but this time with this cutest Tilda. She's coloured with Promarkers and some stickles for a little sparkle!

Punches are Martha Stewart and more Basic Grey papers - seem to be using these a lot lately but there are so many gorgeous ones to choose from!!  Sentiment is from an Autumn Leaves set.

Passion For Promarkers wk 43 sketch and One Stop Craft no 71

Isn't this a great image for teen boys from Mo's Digital range!  This is for my nephew Jasper who is 13 at the end of the month - the last one for March, whoo, it's been a bit of a marathon, we have lots of Feb and March babies in our family!
I'm entering this for two challenges, this week's Passion for Promarkers (wk 43) which is any colours and a sketch.  I've adapted it slightly using circles instead of squares for the image and the layer below.  Thought it was more in keeping with the DP paper, and the One Stop Craft challenge no 71 is asking for Spots and Dots. The swirl paper which looks a little planet like is from a new range from Dovecrafts called Funky Vintage and it has some brill designs in it. The spotty paper is Dovecrafts but a different set and I cut the stars out of some paper in the same set.

Tried the out of the frame nestie cutting for the image which I think has worked rather well with his foot kicking out!!  Coloured with my trusty Promarkers of course. My outlining looks rather prominent in my pic but it doesn't look so obvious in real life - I'm just a useless photo taker!!   Finally, the sentiment is from Autumn leaves.Photobucket

Mojo129/ Fab get together!

Spent the most wonderful day yesterday with two lovely ladies, Lesley and Alex (more of this later!)
This is one of the cards I made whilst there following the sketch over at Mojo Monday.  Just scraping in for this week!
The image is a gorgeous little stamp from Stampin Bella which I got at The Craft Barn, coloured with a mix of Copics (thanks Lesley) and Promarkers and layered up using the delish new Basic Grey ranges, Kioshi and Green at Heart - I loves them, I do!!  Wanted to make an easel card so stretched the sketch down across the bottom of the easel - the sketch was perfect for this- and I rather like the effect!!  Butterfly punch was Alex's - I have gotta get me this!!!

As I was saying, this was made at my long-time, best matey, Lesley's  house where we were also joined by the lovely Alex, both uber talented and fab friends.  Nearly didn't make it as DD no 1, Holly had gone out with friends the night before, decided to stay over, forgetting that said friend had left car parked in our driveway and hence blocking my car in the garage when I came to leave!!  To say I was not amused was an understatement and with less than savoury language in the air, managed to get to Lesley's about an hour late, DD and friend having got a cab back here with their tails between their legs and a flea in their ears!!

Alex gave Lesley and I one of these gorgeous little cases, isn't it divine!! Love the image too - it's a fab Penny Black stamp and coloured perfectly by Alex, who is a wonderful colourist!  And it was filled with some super goodies - flowers, ribbon, choccie eggs!! Yum!!

Lesley gave us a fab watercolour paper pad which I can't get for love nor money where I live so was thrilled!!!  And of course, we played in her wonderful craft room and with her wonderful goodies!!

Tent Card for Mother's Day

Made this card for my Mum using Dena'a tutorial over on Just Magnolia
It really is a super style of card and very effective.
I also used this great tutorial from Norma to use my GORGEOUS new pansy border punch from Martha Stewart!  Instead of bordering the edge of circle or oval as shown in the tut, I framed the inside of my aperture.
Image is a sweet little thing from Sugar Nellie as my Mum is a real doggie lady, coloured with Promarkers, papers are the oh so fab Wisteria from Basic Grey and flowers are a mixture of Wild Orchid and pound shop bargains!!

I'm also entering my card in the Stamp Something challenge who are asking for Girly.

Oops better go and get ready for work now!!  Have a great day all and thanks for stopping by!!

Basic Grey, Midnight Madness and Double Dutch

Take a look at the photo  that is the inspiration for the latest challenge over on Basic Grey - in fact I'm going to post it on here because it is so gorgeous - what a fab baby room!

Anyhow, I'd already coloured this Mabel Lucy Attwell image by Artistic Stamper for a card for my brother in law who's an AA man but didn't quite know where I was going next!!  Well, this photo pointed the way, and with the help of the sketch over on Midnight Madness, this is my card.
I opted for the clean and simple version of the sketch as you can see. The stamp actually has a bunny and a bear in the back so I masked those out and added my presents, and the AA rub-ons!  The yellow paper is Basic Grey Wisteria - use of BP stash is part of the BG challenge.  I wanted to use more but actually didn't like it when I tried this.  Coloured with my trusty ProMarkers and the silver Metal circles are from the Craft Barn. There's a touch of Glossy Accents on the windscreen  and lamp trim but too subtle for my photography skills!!   I'm also entering this into the Double Dutch challenge which calls for something for the Boys.

By the way, I had a great time at The Craft Barn Demo Day today - met Chris Dark whose work I've admired for a while now- here's her blog - and got lots of wonderful watercolouring tips from her, she has a fantastic style!  It was also lovely to meet Chris in the flesh - a lovely lady who I hope to bump into again!!

Team Edward

Mentioned in my earlier post today that I didn't like my card for my niece, so have made this card quite quickly (for me) tonight using these Digi images from the Greeting Farm although I think they are possibly now available in rubber. They are meant to be Edward and Jasper from the Twilight books/films which my niece and all the girlies in my family love!!
No challenges or sketches followed as I didn't really have time to look!  Right got to go and have a nosy at the WOYWW  peeps - I am SO nosy!!
Photobucket

WOYWW

Here's my desk for today - couple of new Cheeky Cherries from the Greeting Farm on the left, along with sticky stuff.  New Glimmer Mist at the back - irridescent gold, which is gorgeous and two images coloured but not yet transformed!! Also, some reels of ribbon which I just got at the weekend . All a bit pedestrian so have also picced couple of drawers that were open to show pearls and big brads.

Well, that's me done, off to make a card for my niece as I've decided I don't like the one which is in my handbag addressed and stamped ready to send to her!!!  (Well not that I don't like it but just don't think it's right for her!  Will be back later to trawl the desks!!

Sugar Bowl Challenge 30

This is my card for the current Sugar Bowl Challenge  which has a sketch to follow, with the additional request to be shabby!!!  I've pretty well left the sketch alone, no rotating or flipping at all!! Lots of edge distressing with my little Tim Holtz tool and chalks on the edges.  I was also pleased as I used lots of paper scraps so feel quite virtuous!!
The image has to be a Sugar Nellie one for the Sugar Bowl challenges and this is one of my original Leanne Ellis stamps, which I always forget how much I love!  Oh, and I also stamped the pale apricot floral paper with some gorgeous new Anna Griffin background stamps from QVC and a little spot ink from Stampin Up.  Flower is made using Bloom Nesties.

I've also received a fabbie award from Andria over at Iona-Rose designs - thanks, so much.  Trouble is, I've got to think of some interesting facts to tell you about me, so I need to think long and hard and will post as soon as I've scraped some together!! :)
