Basic Grey, Midnight Madness and Double Dutch

Take a look at the photo  that is the inspiration for the latest challenge over on Basic Grey - in fact I'm going to post it on here because it is so gorgeous - what a fab baby room!

Anyhow, I'd already coloured this Mabel Lucy Attwell image by Artistic Stamper for a card for my brother in law who's an AA man but didn't quite know where I was going next!!  Well, this photo pointed the way, and with the help of the sketch over on Midnight Madness, this is my card.
I opted for the clean and simple version of the sketch as you can see. The stamp actually has a bunny and a bear in the back so I masked those out and added my presents, and the AA rub-ons!  The yellow paper is Basic Grey Wisteria - use of BP stash is part of the BG challenge.  I wanted to use more but actually didn't like it when I tried this.  Coloured with my trusty ProMarkers and the silver Metal circles are from the Craft Barn. There's a touch of Glossy Accents on the windscreen  and lamp trim but too subtle for my photography skills!!   I'm also entering this into the Double Dutch challenge which calls for something for the Boys.

By the way, I had a great time at The Craft Barn Demo Day today - met Chris Dark whose work I've admired for a while now- here's her blog - and got lots of wonderful watercolouring tips from her, she has a fantastic style!  It was also lovely to meet Chris in the flesh - a lovely lady who I hope to bump into again!!

Julie this has a nice vintage retro feel to the image and card. It seems I remember having a car like this when I was a little girl. How cute and adorable this is. Thanks for the trip down memory lane! Great job on the challenge. Thanks for playing along this week at the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge.

Julie, what a great guy card. Love how you exchanged the backseat passengers with presents, your BIL is going to love this. Image is colored up perfectly. Love the clean simple lines for a guy card too. Reminds me of the little peddle cards from years ago. Thanks for sharing your card with us at MMSC. Wonderful take on the sketch.

Hi Julie! I'm so happy that we met in real life at the CB on Saturday, it made my day there so special! Thank you for the lovely things you said in your post (blush) you're one lovely lady yourself :) and I hope we bump into each other again very soon too. I'm glad you got the paper hope you like it? Your card is gorgeous and I had no idea you could buy Mabel Lucy Attwell stamps so thanks for the info on them, I shall be off to have a browse, I've loved them since I was a kid :). Your colouring and design are gorgeous and it's great how you masked out the stamp and added the pressies, I'm sure your BIL will love his card. Great that you entered BG challenges too, that photo is beautiful. Chris x
