PFP - Passion for Pirates!!!

Teehee!! Yes we're hoisting the Jolly Roger over at a Passion for Promarkers and want to see anything to do with Pirates this week.!! 

I used this gorgeous girly pirate, a digi image from Make It Crafty, coloured with my PM's and the New FlexMarkers from Letraset - have I said how wow these are!! 

My papers are Webster's Pages - love these too!!

SNS Challenge No 68

Hi all, it's a Monday so it's time for our new challenge over at Sketch N Stash with a fabbie sketch drawn by our lovely Sue, gorgeous it is!!

 

I've had this little cutie Mo image (to be found here) in my stash for a while, and I've teamed him up with Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses paper.  The sentiment was from my friend Lesley's crafty stash, and then when I got home, found that I had it too!!!  Just about the newest thing that I've used are the felt snowflakes that I bought in the sale from PaperChase after Christmas.  I've also added some stickles for a bit of sparkle and the snow drops are also sparkled up!

CES Challenges Mix and Match

Happy Saturday all!  It's time for our new challenge at CES Challenges and this week's theme has been chosen by ME!!  And that is to use papers made by at least two different manufacturers.  If you play along with us you could win a yummy £10 voucher (excluding postage) to spend in Crafty Emma's on line store.  Emma has loads of new gorgeous papers in stock at the moment too a couple of which I've used in my card.

I had actually made another card but I wasn't very happy with it, and was even more unhappy when I saw the fabulous makes by my teamies at CES Challenges.  So went away last night to make this card, using the stunning Authentique papers, Unknown, and the MME papers Lost and Found - I tell you they are gorgeous!! 

My image is a super new one from Mo's Digital Pencil called Big Shoes, isn't she lovely - you can find her here at Mo's!! I've coloured her with my Promarkers AND some of the new Flexmarkers from Letraset which I was very lucky to be sent a sample of and I have to say they are fantastic.  The new brush nib is awesome and they are an absolute delight to use.  Can't wait till the rest are available in the shops as I will be first in the queue!!

I've also used some Websters Trim and Cherry Blossoms which are from Emma's store as well as the papers.  The little rolled roses were made with a Marianne die and the sentiment is Fiskars.
I followed a fabbie sketch over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp so am entering it into their challenge!

A cheeky little Christmas Elf!!

Oh I was so happy to see that Mo Manning had added some more of these cheeky little Christmas Elves to her store - they always make me smile! 

This one is called Little Elf Mim - even the names are cute!  I've used Dovecraft 12x12 Christmas papers and coloured with my PMs.  The bauble is embossed with holographic embossing powder but it doesn't show up too well here.  I've also added the some flower soft to make his fur trim and bobble all fluffy.

Colour Create - Love these colours!!

Another fortnight has come and gone and another Thursday is here which means it's time for our next challenge at Colour Create.

The photo this week has been chosen by the super- talented Liz, and I love the colours she's picked!!

They are Blue, Brown, White, Green and Red and the Optional Extra is texture.

I've gone with this WOJ image - first time of inking (purchased last October!!!!). 

The blue background paper is from a gorgeous new set of papers that just happened to drop through the letter box this week from Crafty Emma's On line Store - Journey by Authentique - they are so yummy.  There's also a strip of Basic Grey Pyrus paper in there. Ribbons and buttons are from stash and the sentiment is Cuddly Buddly. I meant to emboss the hearts for the texture element of this week's challenge but forgot!  However, can I say that the ribbon, buttons, twine and distressed edges all add a variety of texture?  Thanks!!! Phew!!

Show us the Diva in You!! at PFP

Hi all, time for our next challenge at Passion for Promarkers.  And after all the hugging and kissing last week, we want to see lots of glitz and glam for our Diva week, as chosen by our very lovely Anja.  We have Joanna Sheen sponsoring us this week with a £10 voucher up for the taking by one lucky entry!

For my card, I've used one of the lovely Glamour girls from the Greeting Farm and perched her on the candy cane stamp from Magnolia. I've glossed it with glossy accents although it doesn't show up so well here. I have to say that the new Ultra Fine nibs from Letraset were an absolute god send for all the small corners and fine detail work on this image!  Loves them I do!

I've use a nestie die for the image and a Go Create die to tie in with the preprinted shape on the Websters Pages that I've used.  The ribbon trim is also Websters embellished with diamante gems. 

A few flowers and some extra stickle glitter and that's her in full Diva glamour.  The girls over at PFP have pulled out all the stops, so do pop over for the beauty parade!!

Just so shocked by all the rioting in Croydon last night and in other London areas. Ordinary people's business's and lives devastated! Keep safe all.

CES and Basic Grey Challenges

Don't you just love it when life is made a little bit easier for you?  That's how I felt this week when I found that the themes for my DT posts at both Basic Grey and CES Challenges could be combined!  At CES the theme is Water and at Basic Grey it's Sizzling Summer.  I then decided to make life difficult for myself by deciding to merge two digital images from Mo's Digital Pencil  - Solemn Sailor and the Beach scene from the Beach Elements 1 Set!  I'm not the greatest technical person and if something's not straightforward I just can't be bothered!!  Well, I looked around for a few tutorials but didn't have the programmes on my laptop, so in the end I just opened up both images in Photoshop and basically dragged the Solemn Sailor image onto the Beach scene - not even too sure now, how it worked but it did and I've saved the finished merge!! 

The whole image is coloured with my Promarkers and the Ultra Fine Nibs (which were a godsend for the detail work).  I've also added a bit of glitter for the breaking waves on the shore and wave tips, and also on the beach for a bit of texture. I then paper pieced the little boat he's holding to make it look like it's made from newspaper. The bubble border is a Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page set cut from Basic Grey Hello Luscious papers and then layered up onto another paper from this yummy pad.  The papers, Tim Holtz sentiment ticket, card base and promarkers are all available from Crafty Emma's store.  The netting is cotton scrim that I've coloured with Vintage Photo Distress Ink (and round the edges) and the little wooden stars are from my stash. 

I'm not very often satisfied 100% with my finished cards, but this one I am, not least I think because I love this Solemn Sailor image from Mo - I had two little blonde page boys dressed in Sailor Suits at my wedding many, many moons ago, and also have a great photo of my hubbie at about 5 dressed as a sailor boy.

Cutie Mo image

I had intended to use this fabbie image somehow for the current challenge at CES Challenges, Feeling Blue.  However, I wasn't ready in time due to our holiday, but went ahead with it anyway.  Isn't she just so sweet!!  She is of course a Mo Manning image and comes in boy versions and straight or curly haired!   

I thought these baby blanket style papers(long time stash inhabitants!) worked perfectly, the sentiment is Stampin Up and the large pearlised button is from a vintage lot that my MIL gave me a while ago. 

Love this image as it's actually so versatile - you could use it as You Can Do It card, a Well Done, Thinking of You, Baby....... endless possibilities. 

Just of shopping with my youngest for business style wear for her Post Sixteen 'uniform'. It's gonna be hot, hot, hot here in London - keep cool!

That's the theme for our next challenge at PFP, as chosen by our very lovely (and romantic!) Andie! I've used this fabbie image from Stampin Up and teamed it with some wonderful Webster's Pages bought from Crafty Emma's store.  

The flowers are also mostly from Emma's store and the little sentiment was made using a Waltzing Mouse frame with the matching nestie and I think it's a Kaiser Kraft sentiment. 

The seam binding, pearls and crocheted flower are from stash!

Happy Monday to me and SNS Challenge No 67

Hello blogland!  Back from a glorious week in the Lakes and I'm still happy as I have this week off too! 

I'm back with our next challenge at Sketch N Stash and this week this fabbie sketch has been designed by our lovely Sue.

I don't purchase many animal themed stamps but just had to buy this Humphrey image a few weeks a go as it reminded me so much of the ellies in  Babar the Elephant which my children used to love when they were little! 

I thought I'd paper-piece her dress for speed but actually it turned out to be so fiddly that I ended up colouring her dress with my PMs. Not my usual colour choices either but was looking through my papers and came across these gorgeous ones, I think from a Trimcraft pack that has been lurking in my stash for a couple of years!  I believe the ribbon is from some luxury chocolate wrapping and the flowers from stash.  The sentiment is Stampin Up.
