Sketch N Stash Challenge No 56

Monday morning already but at least I have a short week at work  - Thursday and Friday off !!!!

This is my card for our next challenge at Sketch N Stash - another fortnight that has passed in a flash!  The sketch has been drawn by the lovely Lizzie on the SNS DT and it's a great design to follow.

Our sponsor for this fortnight's challenge is Pink Gem Designs and so I used this very much neglected Pink Gem stamp that has been in my stash an age!! She's so cute too!
I guess the newest item I've used is the nestie  set that she's cut out with!! Otherwise my papers are mostly Papermania's Blueberry Hill and their Gingham 12x12 papers.
The pendant die is from Whiff of Joy and the sentiment is Cuddly Buddly.  You can also see my stitching which has been a bit hit and miss - for some reason the machine missed a couple of stitches here and there! Ah well, all adds to the hand made ambience!! Can't wait to see your interpretations of the sketch -one sketch can produce such a variety of makes and designs! See you soon.

Card for Just Magnolia challenge (including Hanglars!)

Love, love, love Hanglar stamps but alway think they are quite pricy when you see them on Ebay.  However, this new set were just too fabulous to ignore and I succumbed!!  I was also in desperate need to make a just because card so here it is!

I followed the gorgeous sketch over on Just Magnolia set by the brilliant Mina. And then just went with it!  However, I'm mystified and a little gutted because I seem to have lost my Magnolia doily lace die which I only bought at the NEC last November and can I find it?!!!!  NO!!   I've spent ages looking for it - I'm hoping I'll come across it when I've stopped looking for it but I hope it didn't get accidentally thrown away!!

I'm also entering my card into the Stamp Something Challenge which wants flowers and the Sweet Stamping Challenge which wants girlie.

Off to make a sarnie now then another card, then dinner, then I'm sitting down tonight to catchup with y'all!! Oh and if you find a Magnolia doily lace die, it's mine!!

Flowers and Flutterbys and Madam Butterfly!

I'm a woman in her dressing gown this morning and a bit late posting my card for today's challenge at CES Challenges.  I was out last night - watching Madam Butterfly at the Royal Albert Hall.  It was the first time I'd ever been to see a live performance of an opera, and while I love some of the music, especially as you become familiar with it from film scores etc, I wasn't sure how it would pan out in real life!!  Well, I absolutely loved it!!  Such a magical, beautiful performance and so moving!!  Thank you to bestest matey, Lesley and her hubby, who treated my youngest daughter, Emily, and I for our birthdays (early for mine and belated for Emily)!!  An absolute treat!!

Back to my DT card for our Flowers and Flutterbys theme at Crafty Emma's this week as chosen by the lovely Emma herself!  I've used another A Day for Daisies  digi image - partly because I knew my MIL would love it on her birthday card and partly because I knew it would match these gorgeous new Moulin Rouge papers from Prima and I couldn't wait to use them! I think that's a little grassy incline she is leaning against and I paper pieced it with a pretty edged paper from the pack.

These scrummy new papers were from Emma's store here as were most of the various flowers and my 8x8 card stock - I needed to use a bigger card to get all the bling etc on! The sentiment is from Whiff of Joy and the flutterby next to it is a Martha Stewart punch.  The rest of the bits are from my accumulated stash!

Emma is offering a fab selection of charms to the lucky winner (I've just ordered some of those deer - aren't they just too cute!).

The rest of my gorgeous teamies have made some awesome cards this week to share with you so go and take a peek here - I hope you'll be inspired to flit  off and create an awesome card of your own!!

Right, better get off my backside and the sofa and set about making myself presentable!!  I'm having a lazy weekend which means making cards!!

Tropical and fruity at Colour Create

Here I am again with my card for our latest challenge at Colour Create!   And it's another foodie theme of Tropical Fruits!  A bit healthier than last week's theme of chocolate, strawberries and cream!!  You made some yummy cards for us to see though - don't forget to check back on the challenge blog to see the winner!
Here's the picture for this week's inspiration:
24 February - Challenge 64 - Sharon - YOUR CHOICE OF THREE fruit colours (done before but was fun)
You need to pick three of the colours shown as your starting point and, optionally, include some fruit somewhere on your make!!  Very healthy!!

Our sponsor this week is High Hopes stamps

and you could win this fabbie selection of cute stamps from them - what a great prize!:

Back to my card for the challenge and I have picked out the colours of Apple, Watermelon and Coconut!
I'm trying to use some of my stamps that I've had a while but have neglected ( for neglected read never used!).  This  Red Riding Hood from the Moonlight Whispers range from Krafting Kimmie is one such little beauty- how could I have ignore her for so long, no wonder she looks a little sad!!

The apple and sentiment is from another one of the fairytale KK images, I think the Snow White queen which would make sense.  My papers are a mix of Basic Grey and Papermania (the gingham).  The heart doiley is from Crafty Emma's as are some of the flowers and Baker's Twine.  The little apples on the tag are made with one of those punches that you never quite know if you are ever going to use but are too much of a bargain to leave in the shop!!
This is just a close up to show the glossy accents on the apple which doesn't really show in my main pics.

Well that's it from me for now, so sorry that I've not been commenting too much recently ( as me, if you know what I mean!).  Life has a habit of intruding some times!!  Take care and see you soon!!  Loadsa love,

Exciting News which means two DT Cards today - CES and Basic Grey!!

Yes indeedy - I have been whooping with joy for the last couple of weeks but very quietly, and can now whoop whoop  very loudly on here as I can tell you how very, very thrilled I am to have been picked to be on the Basic Grey Design team!  Which also means that this is my very first double DT post for both Basic Grey and CES challenges! So, without further ado, my first card is for Basic Grey and my second for CES!!

BASIC GREY CHALLENGE 38 AND A SKETCH

Yes, for my first DT card for Basic Grey, Heather, (whose work, by the way, I have been a huge fan of for years, even before I started blogging!) has given us a wonderful sketch to use, so with that and using Basic Grey products, this has been a fab introduction to the team!!

For my card, I used this gorgeous digi image from Crafts and Me, used Basic Grey Capella papers for all the layering, added a few perty flowers and embellies and here she is!

The girls over on Basic Grey have made some truly awesome cards following Heather's sketch and using a whole variety of BG papers and products - so hop on over to feast your eyes and also to say hello to the other lovely newbies who are sharing their Basic Grey makes with you for the first time this week!

CES CHALLENGES  -SPOTS AND STRIPES

We're going all spotty and stripey at Crafty Emma's this week, although I think my card would have been just as right for last week's Cute and Cuddly theme!!  So many cute cards and so many cuddly images, there were - don't forget to pop over to the challenge blog to see who won the great prize and who made top three!

This week, you could win this super Sugar and Spice paper pack - yum!!
The spotty and stripey theme has been chosen by my fabbie teamie, Jane, and I think it's about time I showed you my card!!
I've used Wild Rose Studio Polka Dot and Memory Box Rhubarb Tart papers for my card, along with Card Candi and Tim Holtz adage tickets all of which are available at Crafty Emma's on line store which is currently bursting at the seams with gorgeousness!!

I also used the lovely monkey image which was a freebie over at Dustin Pike ( I cut off the balloon he was floating on!) and was so perfect for what I had in mind!  The card is for my daughter's boyfriend's 16th and may look a bit childish but it 's because we paying for him to Go Ape as his birthday present!!  The grass I cut with fringing scissors by Martha Stewart and the leaf vine was also made with a MS punch. Oh, and the branch is a Marianne Creatable die.

Well, thank you so much if you've managed to make it this far - I really appreciate you spending the time!! Oh and hello to a couple of new followers too - that's really lovely of you!!

Enjoy your Saturday!!

Pure Innocence cutie for Crafty Emma!

Evening - just in from work, having a five minute feet up then off to do a card!  First though, thought I'd load the card I made for the lovely Emma of Crafty Emma fame (also my teamie at PFP and CES, and fabby boss at Crafty Emma's Challenges).

I so love these Pure Innocence images and don't use them enough!!  The papers are Basic Grey and the seam binding and flowers can actually be bought from Emma's store!! Talk about coals to Newcastle!! As you can see, I threaded the binding through the eyelets in this new nestie set and then actually got my needle out and tacked the ribbon at the bottom to draw it up into the ruffle - close up below.

I know Emma has the card as it was her birthday last weekend, so I'm safe to upload it!!

Sketch N Stash No 55 - where did that fortnight go!!

Cannot believe that I'm here with my second DT card for the Sketch N Stash Challenge already!  Loved my first fortnight though looking at all the wonderful entries - great stuff!  Don't forget to check on the blog to see who is the lucky winner, and also in the top three!!

This week's sketch has been set by Jacky, - loved it, something in it that brought out the elegant in me, I think! ( I hope!!)

For my card, I used a new digi stamp that I very recently acquired from a day for daisies as brought to my attention by fab friend, Alex!  So many wonderful images and it's immediate gratification as they're digis!
So that's my new item for my card, well and the LOTV sentiment and the MS branch punch, and the tulle (mostly Christmas presents mind you, is that old or new? LOL!)  The item that has been in my stash for a while are the papers which I'm not even sure who they're by - have a feeling they may be Stampin Up but don't quote me on that!!
We have got TWO wonderful sponsors again for this week's challenge, Simon Says Stamps and Bunny Zoe Crafts so fab prizes to be won from each of these  great on-line stores!

As my card was for my niece, Charlotte, who loves purple and medieaval, and got married at Hampton Court in December,  I thought I'd add in a couple of the pics of her wonderful day! (Can you see all the snow out of the window -she was so happy that she'd got her white wedding!!)

This pic's a bit grainy but had to show it - it's not everyone who has Henry the 8th at their wedding!
Then look what she had on underneath her beautiful dress - wicked witch stockings and funky purple boots!!
Back to the business at hand - don't forget to check out the fabulous makes from the great team at Sketch N Stash - lots of cards to inspire and delight you!!!

Hope Monday isn't too bad for you - always a bit of glum day for me at the start of the working week!  Take care.

CES is getting Cute and Cuddly!

Morning!!   My last few cards have been rather red in hue so, I'm pleased to be able to show you my latest card which is most definitely not anywhere near the red colour family!
We're going cute and cuddly this week at CES Challenges as chosen by yet another fabbie teamie at Crafty Emma's, Kaylou!

The checked backing paper by Hot Off The Press was in my CES DT pack  and I  knew straight off, that they were just what was needed for the card in my head!! The image of course, is House Mouse and Emma has  a great selection of these in stock and the navy ribbon and card candy is also from Emma's online store!!

The rest of my bits were from stash.  My stash grew today as I got an order of some of the new Prima pads ( and some flowers, and some Cat's Life Press stamps!) from Emma today - wow, so loving these new pads - I can see there will be lots of stroking going on before using!!
Emma has so many new things arriving all the time, some of us have just given her access to our bank accounts to cut out the middle man, LOL!  One of the latest stamp arrivals include the gorgeously cute Fizzy Moon images and Emma is  offering one up for the prize for this week's challenge!

So get out all your cute and cuddly stamps and join us at CES Challenges this week!
