PFP - Teddy Bear's Picnic

I'm scheduling this post as about now I should be driving down from the Lake District (after a visit to BIL) to the Peak District for a few days with hubby in a yummy hotel!! Sorry if I didn't get to see your entry for PFPs sketch challenge last week but what I did see were yummy!!

This week's challenge has been set by one of our lovely, head teamies at PFP, Denise and her theme is Teddy Bear's Picnic - you need to use a teddy image on your creation.

Our sponsor this week is Joanna Sheen with the chance to win a £10 voucher to spend in her store - cor!!

I've been dying to try this colour scheme for ages and it seemed to go perfectly with this challenge.

The image was one in the HUGE stash of my special, long-time matey, Lesley , and when we had a play weekend recently, I picked him as perfect for the theme this week!!  I've coloured him with my Aqua Markers and paper-pieced his apron, slippers and scarf.  The sentiment is from Stampin Up, the chipboard flower and flutterby from John Lewis, and aren't they the cutest little cutlery brads!!!  Think they're Woodware but don't quote me on that.  Oh and the Blue spot papers are from the Wild Rose Studio spot pack which I purchased only recently from Crafty Emma's Store.  The big epoxy button in the middle of the top flower is from Making Memories.

I'll be back to do some commenting on your no doubt awesome creations for the challenge - meanwhile, I hope you manage to take a peek at the stunning DT cards this week (I've had a little preview of one or two!) and you so won't be disappointed!!

See y'all soon!!!

Crafty Emma's Challenge Blog is live!!

Yes, the day is finally here and it's so exciting be in on this new challenge and DT from the off!!  The fabby Emma of Crafty Emma's Store  has set up the challenge - hence the title, CES Challenge Blog!!!  To get us off to a flying start, Emma has chosen a theme of Anything Goes - what could be better!!  And, and, we have a fabby prize for one lucky entrant - a 12x12 My Mind's Eye ''Oh La, La'' paper pack - I want!!!

Onto my Anything Goes card, I've used this gorgeous Greeting Farm Angel Anya image which is a dream to colour in.
The papers I've used are  from the Pink Paislee Mistletoe & Co 12 x 12 collection which you can buy from Emma's store here and they are just fabby! The papers are double sided and include this brill sentiment on a sheet of tag- like images.  I've coloured her with Promarkers, which Emma sells, and embellished with dew drops and the angel charm - all from Crafty Emma's store. The ribbon and red diamante stones are from my stash.

Emma has chosen a great line-up of talent for her new challenge blog, so do check out the rest of the DT makes - they're all gorgeous ( and their cards, teehee!!)

Can't wait to see the cards that you make for this first week's challenge - have fun!!

Colour Create 52 - Pastel lilac, Pastel mint and Pastel Yellow

It's Colour Create time again - thank you all for the fabulous entries for my challenge over the last fortnight - wow, I think is the word I'm looking for!!

This fortnight's challenge has been  chosen by the gloriously talented and gorgeous Dena!

What a lovely colour combination eh! Oh and the optional extra is to use a doily ( which I forgot and had to do a quick fix!!)

There are some truly stunning samples by the DTs over on Colour Create so do take a look if you get a chance you won't be disappointed!  This time around, we're being sponsored by Bunny Zoe's Crafts so I hope you can join us to be in with a chance to win a £15 voucher to spend in their on line store!
For my card, I used this great Mikey and Madison digi image from Charmed Cards And Crafts.  I wanted to make a first wedding anniversary card for my niece and husband so this seemed perfect.  My papers are a bit of a hotch potch really!  The gingham is from Doodlebug, the mottled green is from the most fantastic sets by Prima which I bought from Crafty Emma's store here. This set is called Annalee.  The floral paper was actually very kindly donated by my matey, Lesley, at the weekend, when I stayed with her while her hubby was away!!  This was from a Wild Rose Studio set, Floral, which can also be bought from Emma's when it's in stock!!!

I used this week's wonderful sketch from Friday Sketchers - I think this is why I forgot about the doily for Colour Create!  However, I think I covered it off, by making this little flower doily as I couldn't add anything to my layers!  I cut the frill off a larger one and then ruched it round the back of a punched circle and added the pearls!!  The 'proper' flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I'll be back on Saturday for the launch of the very first challenge over on Crafty Emma's Challenge blog so hope to see you then!!

Hugs,

Passion for Promarkers Sketch

Yayhhhh - I haven't had to schedule this post as I'm off work for two weeks!!!!  What a great feeling!

Back to the task at hand -  we have a  great sketch for you this week over at Passion for Promarkers, set by my fabbie teamie, Debs - great layout, Debs - with the optional extra of autumn.
I've gone with plums and greens with a hint of russet and red! I used my new Aquamarkers to colour this gorgeous image from Sugar Nellie!  Love the AMs!!  Love Sugar Nellie!  The papers are Webster's pages and a touch of Prima Fairy Flora both bought from another fabbie PFP teamie, Emma's, new store, here.  Love these papers!

The little epoxy buttons are from Making Memories which I picked up (cheaply) at TK Maxx - they have one or two great bits of crafty goodness if you're lucky!

Don't forget to pop over to see the other gorgeous DT cards at PFP and to see who won last week's challenge.  Our sponsor this week is Stampeezee and you could win a £10 voucher to spend with them!  Looking forward to seeing your creations!

Off for a spot of shopping this morning, a spot of card making and and a pedicure this afternoon!  Heaven!

Sketch and Stash and finishing this card before I played with my new goodies!!

I got lots of lovely new goodies to play with today, including some of the new Aquamarkers, which are the most fabbie colours, some Distress reinkers too, and some Sugar Nellie stamps!!  Woohoo!  However, I have been very disciplined and finished this card for an Uncle next week.

I followed the sketch over on Sketch and Stash which seemed perfect for what I had in mind - I just shifted the image down so that the dragon was still visible.  The papers, of course, are from Once Upon a Time (DCWV) and I used a larger card blank because I didn't want to lose the dragon behind my main image. I've had this paper ages, so my new stash is not that but the Tim Holtz embossing folder for the brick wall that you can just about see!  Other tools include the Iron Railing punch from Martha Stewart and the rings are some bits that I kept because you never know!!  I hope the recipient will be amused by the sentiment - I think I might put something like  "You Certainly Don't Look It!"  inside just to be sure!

The image is from The Age of Chivalry set by Elusive Images which I stamped in Vintage Photo Distress Ink and then masked the image and overstamped the cracked background (from Crafty Individuals) with Tea Dye DI.

At least now I can play with my new goodies tomorrow night! Oh and I've just found out that I won Dena's fab Candy- can life get any better!!! (On holiday from work for two weeks next week - yes it can!!)

Passion For Promarkers Winter Blues

Don't worry it's not me feeling blue but our theme over on Passion for Promarkers this week! The challenge has been set by my gorgeous teamie Anja - Winterblue Christmas.

Our sponsor this week is the Secret Crafter and you could win a £10 voucher to spend with them!

I showed some ink to this gorgeous Sweet Pea image for the first time and it's my first Christmas card of the year!!  Only another hundred odd to go!!  She's not an obviously Christmassy image but she does have holly in her hair and berry earrings!! And I know my girlies and nieces will love this style of Crimbo card.  I used my Promarkers to colour her and my papers are from a wonderful 12x12 K&Co pad that I bought last year. I embossed the white paper frame with an Inkadinkoo snowflake flourish - you can hardly see it but I know it's there!  The sentiment stamp and frame is Stampin Up and the other bits from stash.

The sketch was a delightfully simple one to use from Friday Sketchers leaving you to bling it up as much or as little as you wanted!!  I'm entering it in there, A Spoon Full of Sugar whose theme is Christmas in August, and Totally Gorjuss who have  Aqua as their theme.  I did use my Aqua coloured promarker and as she's a Mermaid, she is obviously celebrating Christmas under the sea!!
Don't forget to hop on over to PFP later to see the winners from last week's challenge. Do check out the cards too, from my fabbie teamies - they are awesome.  See you through the week to view your cards for the challenge - thanks for stopping by!

My first time to set the challenge at Colour Create!!

Yes, as it says in the title my time has come to pick the photo for the new challenge on Colour Create!  And it's a bit different from the fabby hot and bright colours from the last!!  We had some fantastic cards entered  for Victoria's challenge - don't forget to hop over and see who's won the fab collection of Stampin Up goodies.  Here's my pic:

I love the shabby chic, muted tones of the pic and the colours to use are Ivory, Duck Egg Blue and one other colour of your choice from the photo! Oh and the optional extra is shabby chic (of course!)

Our sponsor this week is Michelle's Scrapbooking so hope you can join us to be in with the chance of a fabby prize!

And here's my card:

I've used this gorgeous retro cling stamp from Hero Arts and coloured it with a mixture of the AquaMarkers for the skin and blue dress, and distress ink for the green dress.  I also aged the background pattern with Old Paper Distress Ink.
My papers are a mixture of Basic Grey Capella and Tim Holtz Lost and Found.  I made the background circle shapes by drawing round the lid of a Petal Point ink set and then round the base for the slightly bigger piece.  The flowers were made with the TH Tattered Florals die and the leaves with a Sizzix die.  I distressed the edges and then inked with various Distress Inks for the shabby chic look.  Rest of the embellies are from stash.
Finally, I've used the fabulous sketch over on Sketch and Stash this week and I have to say it was brilliant to use (note to self, must keep a record of it to use again!) I used the Hero Arts stamp which I've had for a couple of months but not used before.  I suppose my neglected stash would be the Petal Point Inks even though I used them to draw round and not the actual inks - tee hee!

Hope you like my photo choice and that I will get to see lots of lovely creations over the next fortnight!  Don't forget too to visit the blogs of the rest of the Colour Create DT- you're in for a treat!!

We're making music at Passion for Promarkers!

The week has rushed round again to Tuesday which means it's time for a new challenge at Passion for Promarkers.  We had some awesome entries for Tracy's sketch last week - I wonder who she's going to pick for her top three!

This week's challenge has been set by the fabbie Andie and she's chosen  music as our theme.  And we're being sponsored by Whiff of Joy with a stamp of your choice up for grabs- luvverly!!

For my card, I used Genevieve from Krafting Kimmie stamps, which, I think looks likes she's listening away to something funky on her headphones!
I used my Promarkers (as opposed to the Aquas) this week and papers from the TH Lost and Found pad!! I also paper - pieced the paper in her hand - I used a piece with music on it from the pad, but you can barely see it!!  I love the soft, distressed colours of this pad, so went further with the distressing theme and distressed the edges and added Picket Fence crackle paint to the edges. I followed the Sketch over on Truly Scrumptious which was super to use.  I embossed the grey oval with the CB music folder, sanded it down and added Rock Candy clear crackle paint over it.

The flouirsh adds to the musical theme, I think - looks like a Bass Clef, so I stamped one in the corner too!  The sentiment is from a great little set by Inkadinkoo which I've edged with another note stamp, and all the rest - flowers, brads, ribbon, etc - are from stash.  Think I went a bit overboard with the Viva Decor pearls  though!!

I don't think I'm helping with this card!!!

Evening all!! Just quickly posting this card as I'm off up to Norwich in the morning to help my big sis come to terms with turning 50!!!  Mind you, I'm not sure that my card will help much!!
I've used one of the girlie Flipping Women stamps this time because she seems to reflect exactly how my sister is feeling!!  That and my sister loves cats, and she has just got two little Bengal kittens!!!  Along with the sentiment that someone gave me ages ago, and voila!!
I've gone back to my normal promarkers to colour this and the papers are from various including Papermania and Stamping!! Gorgeous flowers and ribbon are from Wild Orchid!! (Also one of my handmade scrunched flowers.)
Be back Sunday night, so until then have a good weekend and behave!!

Using those Aqua Markers again! Cheers Sweet Stampin!!

I've been practising again with the new AquaMarkers and this is the card I made for my BIL.  Firstly, can't believe how much I'm using the Flipping Men/Women stamps that I bought really because they were a bargain but they're proving to be very useful!!

As I said, coloured with the AMs and then I distressed the edges of the white card stock with Weathered Wood Distress Ink.  I followed the sketch over on Sweet Stampin which was very simple and therefore perfect for a male card.  I've glossy-accented the beer glasses and the puddle on the floor  and used a little glitter on the froth.  I used tiny brads for the studs on the barrel. paper is from the Capella pad from Basic Grey and the sentiment comes with the stamp set!  Oh yes, and the sentiment strip was punched with an EK Success bracket punch that my fabby friend Lesley gave me for my birthday!

Rather liking the new Aquas! Wish I could stay and play but have to go to work -boooo!!!
