Passion for Promarkers One for the Boys

Hi there - we have a new challenge over on Passion for Promarkers today with a theme of One for the Boys.  Lucky for me as I needed to make a card for hubby's birthday on Wednesday!  I have had such a struggle with the sentiment for this.  Just couldn't get my printer to read the words and it kept printing out blank - kinda ironic really given that it's a joke on hubby!  It says " Nick the Librarian couldn't work out how to get his new-fangled book reader to work!"   Nick is a librarian but doesn't read books and, as he is now in charge of the library systems for the boroughs he works for, it's also ironic that he doesn't have a phone and doesn't like face book, although he loves solving pc problems!

Anyway, I digress, so on to my card and I've chosen Trying to Read by Mo's Digital Pencil (see irony explanation above!).
Felt a bit daunted by this one and my colouring is far from perfect ( in fact I may I have missed a bit on his eye, which I've only noticed on the close-up, I'll have to rectify this!) Generally, though I'm pleased with the overall result using  a lot of distressing and aging to match the old wizard.
The papers are from a DCWV pad called Once Upon a Time and I've added some webbing, Memory Box  Die Cuts  - Spider Web corner and Bottles.  I think the little glass bottle was a pressie from matey, Lesley, and I filled it with a little Glamour Dust for his spells.

You can check out the fabulous makes of my PFP teamies here.  Do come and play along with us as we have a fab prize from Clearly Besotted Stamps with a stamp set  going to the lucky winner!

I'm hoping to get myself sorted over the next couple of days - you should see my little craft room, it's pushed back and piled high so that there's not an inch of desk or floor space in sight!
Bye for now.xx
