Passion for Promarkers - Rags to Riches

This is my card for the new challenge starting today over at Passion for Promarkers with a great theme of Rags to Riches as chosen by our lovely Shelly - so basically we want to see some recycled elements on your makes!
I've used an image from Mo Manning's set of  3 Baby Fairies, which you can find here  This little cutie is Baby Fairy Sipping.  I took my colours from a Kaiser Kraft Paper Pad called Limelight.  Not my usual colours at all but I love this pad and it was nice to use a different colour scheme for a change.
The leave swirls around the image are  from a Lea'bilities Die and the flower sprig is by Memory Box, Bella,  I think it's called.

And of course, my recycled items are the Mother of Pearl buttons which once were part of really pretty necklace!  I used to be so upset if a nice piece of jewellery broke, but now I find myself thinking, ooh good I can add that to my craft stash!!
Don't forget to check out the wonderful makes from the rest of the DT at PFP here.

New challenge at Sketch N Stash

It's new challenge day for Sketch N Stash, and it's a great little sketch from our back catalogue.  Of course I've had to rotate it to suit the shape of my image but I think I've pretty much stuck to the sketch!
I've used this gorgeous little stamp from Lili of the Valley, so sweet!
My papers are a mix of First Edition and Santuro papers, (the heart one). Love the little dress and shoe dies from Marianne, with the little rocking horse being cut with a Cottage Cutz die.  I always forget to use the littlest dies in a set but here I remembered for the sentiment matting, (sentiment is PTI).
I finally added some Memory Box hanging hearts to match the little hear hanging from the pushchair.

We have two fab sponsors as below:

Good eh!
My teamies over at SNS have made some fab cards to share with you this week, so check them out here.

Monthly Blog Hop with Mo's Dream Team - Summer Colours

Yay, it's time to hop with us over on Mo's Dream Team and this month your host is l'il ol me so I am also the start of the hop!!
I chose the theme of  Summer Colours and when I picked that theme, I was thinking of blues and yellows for my card.  As you will see, I've gone with something entirely different - Strawberries and Cream, a great colour combo for this time of year!!
For my card, I chose Blueberry Girl, again not going with the obvious and her blueberries have become redcurrents, but you get the idea!! I'm normally ok with red colouring but it really wasn't coming out too well on her top, so I decided to do a bit of paper piecing using the Webster's Pages that I was also using for my matting and layering and have to say I'm rather pleased with her little gingham outfit.
I then used some teeny tiny pearls for the berries spilling out of her bucket.
The main sentiment is Paper Trey Ink on a Stampin Up punched mat.  The butterflies are from a new Joy Craft set, with the Watering Can and Mini Picket fence cut with a Memory Box die.  The cartwheel is a Joanna Sheen Signature die.
Well, I hope you like how my card turned out, your next stop on the hop is the fabulous Debby Y. (Full order is below)

One of Mo's new images -Baby Fairy Bobbin

Can't believe I haven't posted for over a week, so much going on, and have actually lost my mojo a bit!  Colouring ability has gone awol and generally feeling not very crafty at the minute.  Did enjoy colouring this new digi image from Mo Manning though - Baby Fairy Bobbin - love these crafting inspired Fairies!
I've coloured her with my Promarkers, matched with some My Mind's Eye papers. Note my ricrac border at the top has started to come unstuck - a bit like me really!! The sentiment is from PaperTrey Ink - so perfect don't you think.

Hope you're feeling more motivated than me at the minute.  I promise to try and visit you soon!!

Passion for Promarkers One for the Boys

Oops - forgot to schedule this one this morning!!  It's for our new challenge over at A Passion For Promarkers with our theme of One for the Boys chosen by our wonderful Nic.  I've used Mo Manning's Big Guy's Bike and then used some Wanderlust Papers from Basic Grey.
I'm not a fan of having of make boy cards as I don't like not being able to embellish them within in an inch of their lives!  However, this one I've managed to restrain myself and simply added on the sentiment using a Sizzix stamp and die combo.

Our  sponsor this week is Letraset and they are offering one lucky winner a prize of a 6 pack of Flex markers.

Sketch N Stash and my 30th Wedding Anniversary today!

Hello bloggy friends - it's a Monday and so time for our new challenge at Sketch N Stash.  It also just so happens to be my 30th Wedding Anniversary today, so I used our new sketch below to make a card for my hubby Nick. We've actually been together for 35 years as we met in the 6th form when we were at school - and they said it wouldn't last!!!
As you can see, I've rotated the sketch to use the circle element as my focus, with this romantic pre-coloured topper that I picked up at a Craft Fair a while ago.

My papers are from a  DCWV 12x12 pad that I think I bought back from the US last year - perfect for the occasion.  We're not doing an awful lot of celebrating, we tend to be a bit low key about these events, just focussing all our energy on willing our move to become a reality - now that would be a great way to celebrate!!  Anyway, I'm off to work today, so no time to reminisce about where those 30 years went!!

Our sponsors for this fortnight's challenge are Inky Impressions and you can check out what the rest of the SNS design team have made here.

Happy Monday everyone!!

Mo's Duck Face

This has got to be a new Mo favourite - Duck Face! I do have to admit I was quite nervous of the hair, and while not anywhere near the standards of some of those amazing colourists in blog land, I am reasonably happy with the results - phew!
And of course you have to use the right sentiment and I thought this Whimsy stamp and die combo fitted the bill perfectly.  (You do also get a couple of sentiments with the image - bonus!!) I've also used a couple of Cheery Lynn flourishes, a Tim Holtz film strip die and a Martha Stewart doily punch (which seems to have given up the ghost- grrrrrr!)
The flowers were punched with an EK Success die and finished off with some gingham Candi centres.

I'm off to see Paolo Nutini after work tonight, with my sister,  I love his new album so am over the moon to be going - thanks Louise - love you!!

My final Guest DT card for Funky Hands

Hey there folks, sorry I have been so absent lately - life had been so hectic.  My son is getting over his car accident now, we've been looking at houses in the Lake District (so I'd love to think I'd be sending this to myself in the not too distant future!!), and yesterday we spent a wonderful day with my sister, Louise, and family and friends, remembering my brother-in-law, Neil, who died just over a year ago.  It was a great day and a wonderful tribute to Neil, who would have enjoyed every minute.  It was also my birthday on Friday and what better way to spend my day off  - visiting The Craft Barn and Crafts U Love to spend my birthday gifts!  AND, I am truly spoilt and very excited by the gift from my sister, tickets to see Paolo Nutini in concert on Tuesday night!!  I cannot wait!xx

This is my final card for my guest DT spot over at Funky Hands and can you tell how much I love these house images - this is Where the Fairies Live - No 2 Tree Stump Lane!
I took the colour scheme from these gorgeous Marianne papers that I bought on my birthday trip, added a few flowers and some wooden lettering and I was done - I couldn't bring myself to cover up these yummy papers!

A big thank you to Funky Hands for having me as a guest DT, I'm so glad I've got to know your fabby images!!
Back to work tomorrow, for a rest!!
