Sad news

Hi there

Sorry I've not been around for the last week or so, we've had such sad family news in that my sister's husband died very unexpectedly a week ago.  It's been such a shock to us all as Neil was only 50, and a lovely, funny guy who will be sorely missed by so many people.  The thoughts and tributes that my sister, Louise, has received are testament to just how well thought of and loved, Neil was.
I went up to Norwich for a few days to be with my sister and all my  family and so haven't been blogging or posting DT cards at the moment - to be honest, my mojo has gone AWOL anyway!
I hope to get back into the swing of blogging and card making soon, but I'll hope you'll understand and forgive my absence for a little while longer.

Passion for Promarkers DT Doodleicious

I'm posting this up a bit late today as it's for my daughter Holly's 25th birthday today - Happy Birthday lovely!!  (She won't open it until this evening so I don't want her to see it on line first!!) The photo below was taken as part of a hen party very recently - they had a fab time, with the photos being taken by Rockabetty Studios who specialize in 50s style photo shoots.  Alix, the photographer also happens to be Nick's cousin's daughter - the girls had such a great day! (Click on the link if you want to find out more about Rockabetty!)
Photo: Rockabetty Studios Shoot Final! Thank you Lex, love it! xx
Back to the new challenge over at Passion For Promarkers today and the theme of Doodleicious has been chosen by our fab Shelly.  I felt a bit daunted by this at first, as my doodling always seems to look a mess, whereas I always love how other people use it!  Then I decided to do a sort of basic Zentangle frame around the image, which is by A Day for Daisies.  Holly loves this type of doodling so it was rather appropriate for her birthday card.
I then decided to doodle some flowers which I coloured with my Promarkers and then cut round to layer them on my card.
The flourishes are a die and stamp combo from Paper Trey Ink which I embossed in white.  There's some Shabby White Frantage around the image and also on the Memory Box Heart. The LOTV sentiment is also given the white embossing treatment.

Our sponsors for this week's challenge is Digi Stamp Boutique  who are offering the lucky winner their choice of 6 images!

You may have noticed that I'm struggling big time at the moment to do any blogging!  I'm mega busy at work, and we're away for the weekend  on Friday to what I'm sure will be a fabulous country wedding in the Lake District - my nephew  is getting married!  So I am just plain out of time at the minute - if anyone can let me know how they manage to work, make cards and blog, I would dearly love some tips!!

You can check out the rest of the fabulous cards by my PFP teamies here - lovely  they are!

Mo's Daffodils with JDDs Daffodils!

Hiya - just popping into show you a card made with two daffodil images.  The main image is  the gorgeous Daffodils from Mo's Digital Pencil, I am so loving the lamb!  I then thought the gorgeous Daffodils from Janey's Digi Designs would complement the image perfectly - and I think they do! With the cold spring here in the UK, we don't seem to have had many daffodils this year, so I'm getting my fix now!

I've coloured her with my Pro and Flexmarkers, the papers are Stampin Up and the sentiment is LOTV.

I didn't use much else, partly because I wanted to make a quicky card and secondly I wanted to let the images do the talking!
Thanks for popping in!!

New Challenge today at Sketch N Stash

Well the three day weekend is almost over but not quite!  We're hoping to have a BBQ today if the weather stays nice!  Firstly though, I need to share my card for our new challenge over at Sketch N Stash and as we're being sponsored by the fabulous A Day for Daisies, I've used this stunning Green Lady image from their fabulous digi selection. Our sketch is below and we have an optional theme of Things With Wimgs.

Doesn't she have the most beautiful face - so serene.  You can find her here in the Day for Daisies Store.

I've had the Frantage out again but have been a little more restrained this time and just used it on the one butterfly.  I did make another resin one, mixing in the Aged Hunter Frantage but it sort of went a grey colour below, but I've used it anyway!
The flower stem is a Memory Box Dogwood Rose Die and Stamp Combo and I've also used a Marianne corner die and a Martha Stewart Blossom punch.  The papers have been in my stash a while and I can't remember who they're by!!

You can check out the fabulous cards of my SNS teamies here, hope they will give you some inspiration to play along with us and win our prize from ADFD.  Don't forget to tell us what is new and what has been in your stash for a while.

I'm also entering my card into current ADFD challenge which is asking to see some  lace in your make!
Enjoy the Bank Holiday!xx

Basic Grey Challenge Mix and Match

Morning - it's the start of a long weekend here in the UK, so I've had a lie-in and then I'm off to  do a bit of shopping.
We have a new challenge for you today over at Basic Grey Challenges and that is Mix and Match - so use your papers from different design sets, it's always nice to see how the various papers can be matched together.  I've used Out of Print, Marrakech and Basics Kraft for my card, together with another cutie image from Mo's Digitial Pencil called Baby Shower - just click on the link to find it in Mo's store..

I've coloured using my ususal Pro and Flexmarkers and then added some white gel pen for my spotty umbrella.  There's several die cuts in the mix, including a Spellbinders (circle) Marianne, (leaves), Martha Stewart (Heart) and Magnolia ( Bow border).  The flowers  were cut with an EK Success Retro flower Punch set which I've just rediscovered in my stash!

We are very fortunate over at BG HQ  to have one regular sponsor, the awesome Simon Says Stamp, who yet again are offering the lucky winner of this challenge, a $25 dollar spend in their store.

You can see the wonderful makes by the rest of my lovely BG teamies here- have a great weekend, whatever you're up to!
