Passion For Promarkers - Olympic theme

Hello - oh it's lovely to back with the fab  girls on the Passion for Promarkers Challenge after the team break and this week's theme has been chosen by the fabulous Debs with a very topical theme of the Olympics - which, just in case you'd been off planet for a while, are due to be held in London very shortly!!!  You can either use the colours from the Olympic rings below as inspiration, or choose another theme related to the games in London somehow!

I've gone slightly left field with my card and used this great image from Mo Manning of  a couch potato athlete!! - Game on.  Thought I'd be a bit ironic but I have used the UK flag colours of red, white and blue - I hope we'll be seeing a lot of Union Jacks taking pride of place in the medal ceremonies!!
My papers are the delicious Portabello Road papers, (12 x 12 papers) by Papermania, the bunting was cut with a Stampin Up punch and the lettering was from stash.

We're being sponsored by the fabulous Joanna Sheen, she of great prices and almost free postage, not forgetting the great range of goodies in store!!

You can check out the fab makes of my fab PFP teamies here - hope you can play along!!
Just also wanted to apologise for not doing much blog commenting recently but I'm off work for a week after today so I hope I can catch up with you then!

It's the perfect weather to be in the garden!!

Hi everyone - wow it's been fabulous weather here in the UK for the last few days.  For all that I moan about going to work, today, we had an office barbeque on our roof terrace that overlooks the Thames - my office is directly opposite Shakespeare's Globe Theatre.  I have to say it was so lovely - what a way to spend your lunch hour!
Anyway, this cute little gardener clearly knows that it's been hot, hot, hot and needs to water his plants!!  Love how Mo has captured the intense concentration on his face!!!  You can find him here at Mo's Digital Pencil.

Perfect for using bright primary colours too.  The papers are October Afternoon, the flower border across the bottom is a Memory Box die and the sentiment is, I think, from a Hero Arts set.
One of the not so good things about where I work is the train and tube journey into work - it's been a nightmare the last couple of days, goodness only knows what it'll be like when the Olympics are on!  I'm going to cool  off a bit now and then catch up with some blogging tonight!

Whiff of Joy Challenge! and a DT call!

Morning - got to be quick, I'm running late!!
Anyway, I'm back again with my card for the new challenge at Whiff of Joy Challenges and our theme this fortnight is to use a a Metal Embellishment of  some sort on your make.  Nice one!!
I've used Fall Willow with Grapes, which I bought as part of lovely set a little while ago now!
My Papers are a new pad by Prima called Fairy Belle - they are just so soft and beautiful.  My metla embellies are the brad and the pin which I made by adding a couple of pearl beads and a metal spacer in between.
You can check out the fabulous cards of  the WOJ team here - oh and if you'd like to join this fab team of ladies, we're having a DT call, so pop on over to the challenge blog to find out more!
Last but certainly not least, we're being sponsored by Simon Says Stamp this fortnight, with an amazing $25 dollar voucher to spend with them!

Right, I'm really late now, so much dash!!

On to my card, which  I made with this fabulous lady, Blanche from Saturated Canary.

I've teamed her up with some fabby Memory Box papers, Viola - I always think purple shaded papers are not so readily available so I love this set! I've also used two co-ordingating Marianne dies - the rose corner and matching border.
The very top lacy strip  was cut with a Tim Holtz vintage lace die.  The sentiments are from Whimsy Stamps - so perfect with this glamour puss! The poppy flower is from Wild Orchid Crafts - they are some of my favourite blooms at the minute!

The fabulous girls on the PFP teams have made some gorgeous cards to celebrate our anniversary - check them out here.

I'm also entering my card into the current Saturated Canary Challenge which is May Flowers.

Thanks everyone, for all your well wishes for my big sis!  I'm pleased to report that she is already home with her daughters and husband taking care of her

Sketch N Stash DT card

Back today with my card for the new Sketch at Sketch N Stash.  First though, just want to apologise for not being about much.  Really shocked on Saturday morning be news that my sister, Debbie, had had a heart attack!  She's only 51 for goodness sake!  Thankfully, she's ok and got to the hospital pretty quick, as she felt that something was really wrong!  She's had three stents put in and hopefully will be home tomorrow.  Had a lovely chat with her tonight, and she sounded so normal!!  She's a smoker though and it's put the fear of god into her, and is determined to give up!  I'm going up to Norwich next weekend now to see her and I might make her a cup of tea or two!  (She has strict instructions to rest).

On to our new challenge at Sketch N Stash and we have a fabulous one for you, as designed by our lovely teamie,  Jen - loved your sketch, Jen!
Really loving some of the latest releases at A Day for Daisies - this image is from the Bewildered set and I love the twenties feel of her.  She looks great in black and white too, I think!
My papers are Stampin Up, the diamante buckle is from Wild Orchid Crafts and the little black chiffon flower is from Mei Flower, one of our sponsors this week.  The two strips of black gems were from a set from the pound shop - grat value.
One other item I reall do like is the white twill tape with the flourish.  This started out as plain twill tape from Joanna Sheen and I stamped it with this little flourish - opens up a whole new range of possibilities!!  The papers, and the sentiment which  I made with gilding flakes and flitter glue, are the oldest things I used from stash, with the image, buckles and flowers being rather more recent purchases!
We have a couple of sponsors for this challenge, one being Mei Flower as I mentioned above who are offering an amazing £20 voucher to spend with them, and the other being Dies to Die For who have a yummy £10 voucher for the lucky winner .

Well, that's it from me today, other than to say you can check out the gorgeous makes of my SNS teamies here, have a great Monday, and I'll catch up with you soon, I promise!!

MO's Dream Team Monthly Blog Hop

Yaayyyyy, it's time for our monthly blog hop with all the lovely ladies on Mo's Dream Team.  This month's theme has been chosen by the very lovely Alice - a great theme of :

PRETTY IN PINK!
(Great film too!)

Hopefully, you will have arrived here from the very, very lovely Jane's Blog but if not, and you'd like to start from the beginning, click here to take you back to Alice, who is the start of the hop.

For my card, I've used the wonderful Girl With Sign which you can find here in Mo's store.  Love that you can use this to put your message in whatever it may be, brilliant image, Mo!

I've used an Inkadinkadoo Kid's Quote for my message, look at her little goofy smile, so cute!
The frame is a Memory Box die cut with a Vaudeville frame and the papers are Authentique.  The  little carnation flower is from Wild Orchid Crafts and the pom pom border at the top was from stash ( i.e. forgotton where I bought it from!!)

Your next stop on the hop is at the queen of decoupaging's blog, the lovely, and very patient Debby!  And while you're hopping, don't forget to leave a comment on each of the team's cards as two lucky commentors will win a $5 dollar voucher to spend in Mo's Digital Pencil!!

Thank's for hopping in!!
