My First DT card for the Whiff of Joy Challenge - Pink and Pearls

Well the day has arrived, and it's time for me to post my first DT card for the new challenge at Whiff of Joy Challenges. Must admit to being a little in awe of all the wonderfully talented ladies who make up the team, just hope I don't let them down!
The theme for this fortnight is PINK and PEARLS which immediately had me turning to the  Shopping Willow image which can be found here at WOJ.
I'd also come across these stunning DCWV Dress Up papers in my stash whilst looking for something else and so was pleased to be able to use them in this challenge. There's also a mix of pink lace and tulle and a few swirls to go along with the pearls!! Didn't want to cover up the papers with too much fussiness either.  Coloured with my PMs and there's also a little Spica glitter on the tissue papers but this doesn't really show up!!
I followed the Sketch over on Sunday Sketch and Stamp so am entering my card into their challenge.

The sponsor of this fortnight's challenge is Simon Says Stamps ( not quite up to speed with what the prize might be but it's sure to be fabby!).

I do know that the samples created by the DT at the WOJ challenge are sure to be stunning, so don't forget to check them out.
Happy Wednesday

Passion for Promarkers - Flexible Challenge

This is my card for our latest challenge at Passion for Promarkers  and to celebrate the iminent general release of the New Flexmarker pens, we have a flexible challenge for you - so flexible that you have free rein to do whatever you like as long as you use your Promarkers, Aquamarkers or the new Flexmarkers if you've managed to get your hands on some!
Letraset are sponsoring us this week, and you could win sets 1 and 2 of the new Flexmarkers - wow, how brilliant is that!

On to my card, and I've used this beautiful christmas Sassy girl from Sugar Nellie.  Of course, she's coloured with my PMs and the new Flexmarkers.
The papers are from a K&Co 12x12 Christmas pack and the ribbon is from stash.  One of the ends was rather frayed and I was just about to snip it off but then decided it looked rather nice so left it.
A few glittery buttons and that was me done.
I know the fabbie girls on the PFP team have got some gorgeous cards to share with you so hope you can take a look and perhaps play along with us this week.
I'm back to work today but have Thursday and Friday off, so I don't mind too much!

DT card for my Sketch at Sketch N Stash

Oh it was so lovely to wake up this morning and not to have to get ready for work!!  The sun is also shining, our weekend of festivities finished very successfully about 11pm last night and today is mine to do a bit of card making!!  (Have got to collect Emily from Waterloo but shall be so happy to see her!!) Thank you all for your lovely comments re all my celebrations, it only added to all the happiness!!
Now on to my card today which is for our new challenge at Sketch N Stash - and it's my sketch ( prettified by our lovely Angie of course!).
Now I don't make many cards for selling or commissions ( I find it quite nerve wracking wondering if the commissioner will like it) but I was asked to make a wedding card for someone (after the event for some reason) and it just happened to fall just as I was making my card for this challenge.
I used this beautiful  Mo Manning image from Mo's Digital Pencil which was so wonderful to colour.  That's my new item, just about everything else has been around for a while, especially the 12x12 sheet of Basic Grey Stella Ruby paper which has been lovingly stroked for at least  a couple of years before  I could bear to use it.
The flowers are a mix of hand made and blossoms bought from Crafty Emma's Online store and the little pin was handmade from my lovely matey Lesley - I have only just been able to use one as they're so pretty!
My teamies at SNS have made some gorgeous cards from my sketch so don't forget to have a peek.  I hope  that you can play along with us over the next fortnight, as you could win  5 digital images from the awesome selection at Kenny K Downloads.

I'm sure I've missed some wonderful creations in blogland over the last few days, so I really hope to be able to visit soon!!!

Have a lovely Bank Holiday Monday!!

New CES Challenge and I have 3 reasons to celebrate - Happy 21st Harry,Exam results and some news!!

Morning everyone, try not to speak too loudly!!  I'm feeling a little delicate this morning as we had Part One of my son, Harry's 21st Celebrations last night - a Bavarian Beer fest themed party for his friends!!! I'll put up some pics later!  Happy Birthday Harry!!
My youngest daughter, Emily, wasn't here as she has gone to Reading for a music festival and I'm sure is celebrating her fabulous GCSE results - 4 A stars, 4 As, 4Bs and a C.  Well done pickle!!
Reasons to celebrate number 3:  I've just been picked to join the fabulous Whiff of Joy DT!!!!
Please take our banner for your blog
Cannot quite believe it - just hope I don't wake up soon!!  Thanks for having me ladies - I'm waving and doing the happy dance ( but very quietly!!)
Any how, on to today's challenge at CES Challenges which has been chosen by our awesome Jane ( oh and one of my new teamies at WOJ!!).
Jane has chosen the gorgeous colour combo of Brown, Pink and Aqua which is so yummy.
I felt spoilt for choice as to what papers to use from the fabulous selection that Emma has in stock here.  In the end I went for a combo of  Echo Park Happy Days and My Minds Eye Lost and Found - they are almost too lovely to be used!!  And isn't this image from Mo's Digital Pencil just the sweetest - The Tea Cup Fairy - free fairy with every cuppa!!
I've coloured the image with  a mixture of Promarkers, the new Flexmarkers and a couple of Copics.
You can just see here that I've sprinkled the flowers with Crystal Glamour Dust that Emma has just got in stock - she also stocks these Cherry Blossom blooms and and the curly flower layers.  And the sparkly gems - love these, they're slightly irridescent!

As always, Emma is offering a fabby £10 voucher to spend in her store (excluding postage) so play along with us to be in with a chance - or just pop over to Emma's anyway and treat yourself - I'm celebrating!!!  Check out all the awesome makes from mywonderful CES teamies here.

Right, just off to Sainsburys now, to get some food for a family lunch tomorrow.  Later today, we're off to Nick's Uncle's for his 65th birthday celebrations - Harry and Steve share the same birthday and so the same party!!!  Happy Birthday Boys and thanks for the party Uncle Steve!!!

Winning comment from Mo's Monthly Blog hop!

Hello Bloggers!!

No card but just wanted to let you know that one of the two lucky people to win a voucher for taking part in our blog hop last week has been picked from my fabby commenters.  And that lucky winner who gets a fabby $5 dollar voucher to spend at Mo's Digital Pencil Too (as picked by random.org) is commenter number 54:

Well done, Marianne.  You should get an email telling you how to claim your prize!!! Thanks for playing along!!

Yay, Colour Create Challenge Day, A Day off work and exam results!!

Yay - it's Thursday, nearly time for the weekend and I have the day off today.  I'm off up to my daughter's school to get her GCSE results - will I be smiling later?  Sure I will be!
Anyway it's also Colour Create new challenge day, and the luvverly colour combo has been chosen by our luvverly Kerry!! And here's your inspiration picture:

25 Aug - Challenge 78 - Kerry
The optional extra for this challenge is to make your own backing paper!!  This is the second card this week, that I've not used any of my yummy papers!!  However it did mean that I use this gorgeous snowflake design  stamp from Anna Griffin for my backing design.  Bought it as part of a set aaaaggggeeesss ago and you can line it up and repeat the pattern to get the size you want.
My image is one of the gorgeous gnomes from Whiff of Joy - they're just made for this colour combo!  This is the first time I've tried this dotty shadowing - quite like it but think I need to a bit lighter with my PMs.  Think I also need to get my eyes checked as my little gnome looks ever so slighty squiffy!!  The little wooden tree was a craft fair purchase.

Our fabby sponsor for this challenge is High Hopes Rubber Stamps so hope you will play along to be in with a chance to win something gorgeous from their selection.

The lovely ladies that make up the Colour Create Design Team have made some wonderful creations to share with you so do pop on over and enjoy!
Have a great day!

PFP Challenge - No patterned papers - EEEKK!!!

Did you hear me screaming when I realised that this week's challenge over at PFP has banned the use of patterned papers - WHAT!!!  I love my papers, have far more than I could ever imagine using and still keep buying the new releases.  But still that is what a challenge is all about - taking you outside of your comfort zone!!  Our fabbie teamie/boss teamie, Denise, has set this challenge at PFP but I must say I'm rather pleased she did!!
It's my son Harry's 21st this Saturday and we have already bought him a motorbike ( I know, I know, but I have banned tattoos whilst we're still supporting him through Uni!!).  I've used this fab freebie image of the bike from Bird's Cards - such a great site full of freebies and templates!!  I matched her with this gorgeous Kenny K girlie Megan Foxy ( Harry also loves Megan Fox!!)
Don't you just love it when you use items from your stash that have been there for a wee while and you begin to wonder if  you should have bought them.  Well, I've used a couple of Tim Holtz masks - the diamond outer edge and a barbed wire one on the inner square, both inked with Black Soot Distress Ink.  The metallic frame, is also made from a purchase long ago of metal strips that were reduced and therefore calling to me!!
The sentiment is Stampin Up and I love this because it is also Harry's Initals - HB!!

I've glossy accented her goggles and boots and that's it.  Harry's organised his own Beerfest in the garden, Friday night and then on the actual day of his birthday, it also happens to be one of hubby's Uncles, 65th birthday and he's having party!!  Ain't that brilliant - they're having a family party so we can just tag along!!  And then on Sunday, we're having a family lunch - It's a three day birthday!!

Anyway, I've digressed!!  Back to our challenge at PFP, this week our sponsor is Whiff of Joy, the home of such gorgeous stamps and goodies, so do play along with us!!

My lovely teamies at PFP have totally rocked the no patterned papers theme this week, so do go and take a look here!!
Happy Tuesday!

I'll try to remember to post some pics of the weekend's festivities at a later date!!

Double challenge day - CES and Basic Grey

Hello everyone - roll out the bunting and flags - it's Saturday!! And it's time for our next challenges at both CES Challenges and Basic Grey Challenges.  It's Anything Goes at Basic Grey which meant that the Banners, Bunting and Flags theme at CES was perfect for Basic Grey as long as I used BG papers - not difficult, I love them.

Of course, this little Tilda was the perfect choice for the theme!  I've coloured her with my PM's, and used Basic Grey Out of Print papers.  I used the Elegant card blank as a template to shape the bottom of the papers, and then mirrored the shape with a Nestie die to cut Tilda out.  The card blanks, BG papers, Daisies, leaves and flowers, along with the pearls and Promarkers can all be bought at Crafty Emma's store here!!

Now onto our sponsors at both challenges.

Well, at Crafty Emma's what could be better than a £10 voucher (excluding postage) to spend in the  store, if you're the lucky winner - as you can see, there's lots to spend your pennies on!  Emma has also got loads of fabbie new paper pads in stock in the store - I'm expecting a large parcel any day now!!!

At Basic Grey, we have a regular sponsor, Simon Says Stamps, as always and you could win a $25 voucher to spend in their on-line store - again full of fabulous goodies!!

Photobucket

I'd also like to say hello and welcome to my new followers - "waves" - thanks so much for  being here!!  It also means that I've broken through the 300 mark for my followers, so watch this space as I have a little thank you candy which I will post shortly to show my appreciation!!
Have fun with the challenges and don't forget to check out the awesome makes of my awesome teamies at both CES and Basic Grey Challenges!!

Yes - it's time for our monthly blog hop at Mo's Digital Pencil!!
This month the theme has been chosen by the awesome Debbie and she has picked Pearls and Lace.

If you've come straight here and want to play along, pop on over to Debbie's Blog to kick off.  If you're already hopping, you need to go next to Heidy's Blog.  Don't forget too, to leave a  comment on all the Dream Team's cards because hidden amongst us are a couple of spot prizes of  a $5 dollar voucher to spend at Mo's Digital Pencil!!

Now you might be looking at my card and thinking, what???? or where???  However, I so wanted to use this brilliant new Dare image (found here) from Mo's Digital Pencil that I've made the theme fit!! My pearls are black, although there is also a little cream one just in case.  I have also coloured a piece of vintage lace with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and then tied it in the knot to make it look a bit more masculine.
My papers are Bo Bunny Time Piece and just seem to match this dreamboat perfectly!!"  If anybody wants to know what I'd like for Christmas .........!

Do hope you will play along with us!!  I know I shall be hopping as I can't wait to see the rest of the Team's makes - I'm sure they'll be stunning!!
