CES Challenge 10 Chocolate and Caramel

Just typing that has made my mouth water!! Our challenge at Crafty Emmas Challenges this week has been set by the lovely, Sandie - a girl after my own heart, clearly!!  Mind you, just been told that my cholesterol is too high, so trying to wean myself off the sweet stuff!!

I digress, as I said the challenge from Sandie is to make a card with chocolate and caramel in mind which could be the colours or the actual yummy stuff - you can interpret this as you wish!
I've gone with the colours ( I've eaten all the yummy stuff!).  For my image, which is one of a newer Papermania wooden stamp, I stamped her onto watercolour paper, with Brushed Corduroy Distress ink and then just drew out the colour from the lines with my water brush to get the sepia effect.  Love this technique as it's so quick to do, and yet effective.  I then edged the image with some Old Paper distress ink and finally layered it up on Prima Analee Papers.  The corner was cut from Webster's Lullaby papers and the little envelope was cut using a fab new Bigz Sizzix die.  The Special delivery stamp is Cat's Life Press from Crafty Emma's store - in fact I've highlighted in red the goodies that are from Emma's - including the ribbon slider and charm.  The gorgeous lace is some vintage lace that I picked up from an antique shop!

Emma has a great prize on offer this week, (in addition to the winner's blinkies!!!) and that is  a fabbie box of buttons and ribbons from My Mind's Eye - mmmmmm!!

The cards from my teamies this week are as fab as ever, so do pop over and have a peek. TTFNxx

Passion for Promarkers - Best Friends

I so love this image from Sugar Nellie and when I saw that our theme at PFP this week would be Best Friends, thought it would fit the bill perfectly!  The theme has been chosen by the gorgeous Debs, and we're being sponsored by Just Tracy's  to the tune of 5 Promarkers or Aquamarkers - you choose!!

I've gone back to my Aqua Markers this week, they really seemed to suit the old fashioned feel  of this little feller - doesn't he just tug at your heart strings!!  I followed Marlene's fabulous sketch over on the Sugar Bowl challenge, just rotated it to better suit my papers!
I've used a real mixture of papers for this, including Websters Nursery, Basic Grey Basic Kraft and Pink Paislee Old School.  The sentiment is from a Crafty Individuals set called Best Friends and is just perfection with this image, well so I think!! The ruler tape is from my stash.

Fabulous cards, as ever from my fabulous teamies over on PFP, so hop on over and enjoy!!  You also be able to check out who the lucky winners are from last week's challenge.

Two things to blog you about tonight both to do with the lovely Emma of Crafty Emma's Store.

Colour Create No 56 meets Just Magnolia

Hello there!!  It's me back with my card for this week's Colour Create challenge.  The colours have been chosen by my fabbie teamie at Colour Create, Sharon T, and here is the picture she has chosen as inspiration for you.
21 October - Challenge 56 - Sharon - Purple, Aqua and White
Isn't that a fabulous bauble!!  As you can see the colours to use are Purple, Aqua and White with the optional extra of Swirls.  Our sponsor this week is Instyle Stamps and you could win 4 super images from their range!!

I decided to use a Tilda that has been lurking in my stash rather unloved (and uninked) for too long!!  I followed the gorgeous sketch over on Just Magnolia (week 77), coloured with my PMs and then used the one sheet of Magnolia paper that I have which is delightful with the little humming birds!!  You can see my swirls in the corner elements and the embossed background behind my image.  Flowers are mostly from Wild Orchid and I still love the little pennant die from Whiff of Joy!!

I think all the team at Colour Create loved this colour combo as they have made some awesome samples for you - so go and take a peek!

PFP day again!

I know I say it nearly every week but where did that week go!!  Time is marching on and it'll be Christmas before we know it and I'm not ready!!!  At least my card for this week's Passion For Promarker challenge can go towards my Xmas card stock!

Absolutely loved all the Halloween entries for last week's challenge!  Don't forget to check back later to see who Andie has chosen for her top 5 and who won last week's challenge overall.

This week the challenge has been set by the gorgeous Anja and she's chosen a theme of Christmas Cards in either a Pink/White or Purple/White Colour Combo! We're being sponsored this week by Whiff of Joy, no less and the lucky winner will get to pick a stamp of their choice - you lucky people!!!

I've gone with the Purple and White combo and used this image from Blade Rubber Stamps which came with the fabby sentiment - don't you just love it!!  Coloured with my PMs, and I've stamped the background paper with snowflake flourishes from Inkadinkoo.
The 'kisses' are from my stash, the snowflakes are cut and embossed with a Cuttlebug combo set and the snowflake centres were purchased from a fair.  The purple paper with Stars is from DCWV Mat Stack - Blue Christmas I think!

The next pic just shows the sentiment and glittery snow in more detail
I love a sketch to follow and for this card, I followed the current one over on Sketch Saturday so it's being entered into that challenge and also Winter Wonderland who want  a vintage feel to your card.

That's all folks,  sure you'll enjoy the challenge this week - catch you later!!

Just a quick hello to upload this card that I made following the sketch over on Mojo Monday. The image is a digi from Delicious Doodles and coloured with PMs.

Love the sketch - made me use a couple of punches that I forget I have!  Papers are Basic Grey and ribbon is from stash. I'm also entering again into the Cards for Men Challenge which is birthdays this week.

Enjoy your Sunday - I'll be back later to enjoy some blog hopping!!

CES Challenge No 8 - Male Birthday

Morning!  I'm a bit late uploading my  DTcard for the next challenge over at CES Challenges.  We were out last night (very unusual for me!) on a Ghost Walk in Guildford!  Not very ghostly, more of a history lesson by a sceptical old schoolmistress who claimed she was a witch - quite bizarre!

Enough of that ( and believe me, we did have enough of that) and onto CES Challenges - far more interesting!  The theme this week has been chosen by the fabbie Jane and that theme is Male birthday cards!  Always a bit tricky for me, as the men in my family don't do cute.  Always good to have a few in stock so hope we get to see lots of gorgeous makes.  Up for grabs this week, Emma has a great selection of embellies for the lucky winner, all available from her store - Crafty Emma's Store!

Again, as always, my fabulous buddies over on the DT team have made some awesome samples to show you, as have our guest DTers for this week so do have a mosy on over here.

Another Mo Digi image from me this week - good old Charlie!  And as it's a Mo image, I followed the great sketch over on the DP2 Challenge.  I've used lots of goodies that Emma sells (listed below)  at Crafty Emmas and she's got a 10% discount offer on at the moment!

Goodies used that are available at Emmas
Websters Pages - Hollywood
Sheer Ribbon
Star Charm
Black Dew Drops
Promarkers

Challenges I'm entering with this card
DP2 Challenges - Sketch
Daring Card Makers - Dancing - I'm sure Charlie is doing the Happy Dance!
Digi Doodle's Shops Best-  My Peeps - Person or People
Cards for Men - Masculine Birthday
Crafty Calendar - Birthday cards - to celebrate their year of challenges!
Ooh La La - Nothing floral

Need to get dressed now - being overrun by teenagers later as DD Emily has her friends coming over for a film night - on hubbie's new projector and big screen!!  I'm hiding in my craft room!!  See you later!

Halloween Colours at PFP - My First Ever Halloween Card!

Hiya and welcome to our next challenge at Passion for Promarkers.  I don't normally do much for Halloween and as I say in the title, this is my first ever Halloween Card!  That's because the colours chosen for our challenge this week over on Passion for Promarkers are Black, Orange, Purple and/or Green with the optional extra of Halloween, as chosen by my lovely teamie, Andie.  We're being sponsored this week by The Craft Garden and up for grabs is a £10 voucher to spend with them.

Fabulous makes as ever by the rest of my teamies at PFP so take a peek and leave some love if you can, also check on the PFP Blog to see who won last week's challenge!

I  couldn't wait to use this image from Mo's Digitial which I purchased a few weeks ago  - the Wicked Witch  from the Wizard of Oz, one of my all time fave films.  The image also reminds me of Witchy Poo from HR Puff and Stuff which I watched as a child here in the UK- loved it!!

I was going to make a straightforward square card, but I saw that DU2DS had a challenge for shaped cards and this  stair step design is the result!

I don't have any Halloweeny sentiments but rather liked using this one from Krafting Kimmy - rather funny with Witchy flying around on her broomstick, looking for Lurrrvve don't you think!!

Now, I made this card with the colours from PFP in mind and the shaped card challenge from DU2DS.  So when I was looking through the challenges to see which ones I could enter my card for, I was horrified to discover that my colours mirrored almost exactly a make made by one of the DT members for Mo's Digital and posted a couple of challenges ago!!  I didn't "case" the make and actually hadn't seen it, but I would be mortified if people thought that I had blatently copied without giving credit!!  So, I've decided to put the link here so that you can see Lisa's fabulous altered CD case!  Her colouring is awesome and  you will see that I've used almost identical colours for her clothing!!  I do love the green  skin tone of Lisa's image and wish I'd done that!!  Go and take a  peek - it's  a fantastic blog!
There are actually quite a few challenges that my card fits this week, so here they are!

DU2DS - Shaped Card - Edited!!  It's an old challenge and finished!!
Create4Fun - Digi Stamp
Totally Gorjuss - Anything but a Square card
Baby Bud Designs - Halloween
Fussy & Fancy - Halloween
Paper Romance - Halloween
Stamp Insanity - Trick or Treat
Simon Says - Halloween
Fab n Funky - Digi Image
Penny's Paper Crafting- Circles
Bee Crafty - Halloween
Digi Doodle Shops Best - Use the colour Orange
DP2 Challenges - Colours from the Rainbow - Purple and Orange

That'll do - I need to go to work!!

CES Challenges No 7- Create a Tag

Hi Y'all!!  Happy Weekend - can you tell I love Saturdays!!  Not only because there's no work but also because it means it's time for a new challenge over on Crafty Emma's Challenge blog!!  We had some fab entries for our hat theme last week - don't forget to check back to see who was the lucky  winner!

This week's challenge has been set by my lovely DT buddy, Kaylou, and she has chosen the theme of Tags for your makes.

I've used  a Criss-Cross design again as I thought it was perfect to pop a tag inside.  I used this awesome image, ( from Kanban, no less) and as I had these divine GDC Paris Nights papers in my DT pack from Crafty Emma's Store I went with the black and cream theme.

The fabulous maribou feather on the tag was actually poached from a wedding favour that I got years ago!

Very importantly, we are being sponsored this week by Pollycraft Designs and you could win five digi images from their great selection!!!  Also very importantly, my teamies have got some awesome cards to share with you, so pop on over to the CES Challenge Blog and feast your eyes!

Happy Tagging!!

Colour Create DT card using Friday Sketchers Sketch!

Hello again blogland!  This is my card for this fortnight's challenge at Colour Create.  And this is the photo inspiration chosen by the uber-talented Mina:

Isn't this just gorgeous!!  Mina has chosen the colours, pink, green and cream with the optional extra of frosting - yummy or what!
I don't think anyone could fail to recognise this gorgeous Holly fairy digi image from Mo Manning- the first image I ever bought from Mo's Digital - love it especially as my DD is called Holly.  I used my Promarkers to colour her and followed the layout given by Friday Sketchers, sketch # 122, this week- another fab sketch from them!  My papers are Webster's again and the flower is one I made myself from paper scraps.

This pic shows my 'frosting which was done  by embossing with a sparkly powder.  Her petticoats are also stickled to within an inch of their lives although it doesn't show up so much.  I love the little lustre beads which mirror the snow globe she's holding. ( And the little house in the globe is in Mina's photo!!)

Finally I added some Twinklets under her feet to make it look like crunchy snow.
Our challenge this week is being sponsored by Michelle's Scrapbooking - there are some lovely goodies on the site, so hope you can play along with us!!  Do have a look at the cards made by fab teamies on Colour Create too - they're as awesome as ever ( and their cards, hehe!!)  Check on over there too to see who was the lucky winner of last fortnight's challenge!

Passion for Promarkers Week 71 does Lili of the Valley Sketch no 67

Hiya

Time for our next challenge at PFP and this week, the theme has been chosen by the lovely Tracy - and it's recycling!!  Our sponsor this week is Pink Gem Designs and you could win one of their gorgeous stamps.

I am a bit of a hoarder and hate to throw anything away, so you'd think this would be easy - my little craft room is packed to the rafters with stash that I can't get rid of  because you never know!!!  But I couldn't decide what to use, so raided my broken jewellery stash!!  I've used a broken earring for the centre of one flower and a piece of broken bracelet for the charm on the sentiment flower!

I also used some recycled tissue paper that delicate purchases have been wrapped in - and the brown piece of tissue above came with the tapes for my ATG gun!! I knew it would come in useful!!

The next picture shows the remains of the broken bracelet and some vintage buttons that I was going to use but couldn't make them fit,  so used them for a bit of staging instead!!
Coloured with my trusty PMs and papers are K&Co Winter Wonderland and, I think, Websters Pages - I am so in love with these at the moment, I can't stop using them!  Good job I bought loads from Crafty Emma's Store!!

Oh, and as the image is one of this year's sooo cute Christmas Stamps from Lili of the Valley, I've used the sketch created by the awesome Bev Rochester!

The winners of last week's PFP challenge will be announced later so pop on over to  the Passion for Promarkers Challenge Blog to see who the lucky winner is - and check out the recycled elements used by my fab DT buddies, they have some amazing ideas!!

(Do you like my new signature - personalised for little ol' me from Whimsy Stamps!)
