A gift for my Super Mum-In-Law

Having seen these gorgeous baskets over on the Just Magnolia blog recently, I just had to have a go as I think they are just fabulous!!  This one is for my MIL's birthday who has always been like a mum to me (and we've lived togother for 20 years!!)  I followed this wonderfully clear tutorial over on the blog by Lene Katrine - thank you so much!!
I've got the day off work today as we're having a new boiler fitted and cannot do anything but craft, so I finished the decorating today having made the basket a couple of weeks ago.  Sadly just didn't have time to make it in time for the week it was the challenge.  Used the so sweet image, A Gift For You, from Sugar Nellie and K & Co paper for the basket.
The lace border was made with the Martha Stewart doily lace punch and the lace across the handle I made by punching both edges of a piece of white paper with the MS daisy punch.  I had ordered another punch which did this in one go but it still hasn't arrived!!  All the flowers are from my stash, and the main ones adorning the image are glimmered with Irridescant Gold Glimmer mist.
The little rose charm is from Quixotic Paperie and the rest is from stash, including the little hat which is some sort of bisque and has been in my stash for ages.

I coloured with Promarkers and used glossy accents on her shoes to make them look like Black Patent - every little girl's favourite (well in my day!!!).  Shame you can't really see it here.  Used Tattered Rose distress ink round the image just to give a softer, vintage feel.  Finally, I've filled it with some choccies in rose wrappers to go with the basket.  In fact, my MIL has a rose themed gift as she loves pretty, and green and pink together.   Do take a look at the tutorial and give it a go - it is so satisfying and I think a lovely, gift!!!
