Hi, my name is Julie - been married to Nick for 28 years and have 3 beautiful children, Holly, Harry and Emily. I'm addicted to card-making and all that goes with it! I just love papers, stamps and anything with a bit of sparkle! ♥
Wow - card number four for Colour Create - where has that month gone. Anyhoo, colour combo is for pink and grey this week, so I used a Tilda image, coloured with Promarkers and a new stamp - the chair from Alota - and Basic Grey paper. I also went to 'play' at a friend's this week and discovered that she had a much coveted Martha Stewart punch!! She kept that quiet! So used that for the edging of the card and the grey DCWV card stock. Ribbon was from stash. Tried really hard not to overdo the embellishing so just added a few pearl accents and voila! Another great colour combo from the team at CC!
This is my card for the Truly Scrumptious Challenge at the moment, using the sketch on their challenge site here. Used the colour palette from this week's Colour Create challenge again, as I enjoyed using this so much!
. Scattering Love Stamp - Sugar Nellie . Tim Holtz Distress Inks . Basic Grey - Boxer paper . Flower made with Cuttlebug and Nestie, (thanks to Ikki's Cuttlebug Cupboard blog) with Laura Ashley Brad
Having said that I had hardly any suitable stash for the Colour Create challenge this week, my Basic Grey sale stuff arrived today and its got lots of lovely navy and red papers. So I might just make another card using it! Plus I wasn't so pleased with the water colouring of my first one below so it's a good excuse to make another card. Watch this space.
Oh and if any of you blog hoppers could leave me a message on how to link to my blog when leaving a comment in a blog, I'd be soooo pleased if you could let me know!!! THANK YOU!!! Juliexxxx
This is my card for the Colour Create Challenge this week. I loved the colour scheme this week - Red, White and Blue - and didn't think I'd have any trouble. BUT... I have hardly any navy paper or navy promarkers. It's just added a load of new must haves to my stash wish list!! Card is for my Dad, who was knocked off his bike on Sunday - luckily, just a bit shaken and bruised, but thought it fitted in well with the colour scheme and the optional extra of travel!!
. Hanglar image . Distress Inks used for water colouring . Ribbon Ikea . Rest - Stash!
Just adding this in by the skin of my teeth, I think. Colours for this week are Peach and aqua - not two colours I would normally use and looking at other entries, alot of crafters seem to think the same! Having said that, I'm surprised by how much I enjoyed using the colours so it just goes to show it's good to step out of your comfort zone!! Really stretching the optional hand made flower element, does my background flower cut out of a sheet of paper count? Hhmmmmm! Anyway, thanks for looking and I'd be delighted to know your thoughts!
Hanglar Image coloured with Promarkers, cuttlebug embossed coredination paper, and distressed with Distress Ink in Spiced Marmalade. Chloe's Closet Paper, Swirl cut with Sizzix Big Die, other bits and pieces from Stash
Just thought I'd put in a piccie of one of the sets of PIF candy that I've sent out this week to the above lovely ladies!! Hope you all enjoy! Other pics are of wallet cards that I've made this week and sent to various people for various things. Gosh, I was busy but busy happy!!!
Just seen this new weekly challenge on Colour Create and thought I would have a go - their first weekly and challenge and mine. I love colour in cards so thought it very appropriate to my style too. Lots of lovely, creative people whose work I have often admired have set up the challenge so go and check it out!
I've finally made myself sit down and catch up with my blog! I feel terrible as I had so promised to keep up! I wish I could blog at work as it would be a great thing to do in my lunch hour! I keep taking a quick peek at everyone else's blogs too and you all manage to keep on top of them - my hat is off to you all.
Anyway, back to the card making and back in November 2008 (groan, my bad!), I won some Pay it Forward blog candy from Caroline. Back then, I should have passed it on to the first three people to leave a comment on this card - well better late than never!
This is a Valentine's for my hubby, made with Cosmo Cricket papers and Primark PJ ribbon!
