Niece's Wedding this Saturday coming

Am rather pleased with this one - again used the stamping with distress ink technique and then water colouring it. Used Weathered Wood for this image, layering on Seven Gypsies Paper - Notting Hill - with lots of embellies and pearls, A happy accident that I'd used blue and navy then found the little sentiment with 'something blue' on it! Not that clever to think of it in advance!!

Love to know what you think so do leave a comment if you have the time, and I'll hop over to your blog to see what you're up to!

Take care

Another Man Card - On a Roll!

For Uncle-in-Law - lots of distressing on this image(from my matey, Lesley). Made a bit of boo boo with the hinges - after I'd stuck them on, I decided that they needed a bit of distressing or something to break the solidness of the black up. So I masked all the card up then sprayed a bit of a coppery Glimmer Mist on them. Well, I was mortified to discover that it had leeched through! However, on looking at it for a while, I decided that it looked like rust which is sort of what I wanted anyway!! What do you think?

Son's Birthday Card

I do struggle to make men's cards but did feel quite pleased with this, although Harry didn't say too much! Still, thought this Mikey digital download from Charmed Cards and Crafts was great for a boy card. Thought it looked like Hazza as he goes off to Uni in a few weeks! He's studying Character Development and Special Effects at Hertfordshire Uni - he is a great artist! My first side step card too and liked this shape, I must say!

Happy Christmas to me!!!

Woohoo - how lucky am I!! Hubby bought me my Christmas present today and I'm using it to type this - yep I got me a lap top!! So happy - can blog and surf to my heart's content without being thrown off the family PC. I can also have this in my craft room so that I can craft and keep up on DC and here at the same time! Emily thinks it's a bit unfair that I'm allowed to have an early pressie and they're not! Whatever!!!!

Hope to load up some new cards soon!! 'Tis the season........

Water colouring with distress ink

Hiya - just got a few minutes before X-Factor!

Alex demo'd this method of colouring last Saturday when she was here - where you stamp the image and then drag the colour in from the stamped edges (gently, so as not to blur them) to give this beautiful effect. I thought I'd really got the hang of this and here is the card I made. However, I've tried it a few more times and cannot get it right again. Anyhow,I was rather pleased with this first attempt!

Belated card for last week's Passion for Promarkers challenge!

Nearly forgot to upload this! As it says on the label, meant to enter this for last week's Promarker Challenge - had to use Rose and Cocoa. Too late for that, but enjoyed making it - and how exciting that there's going to be another 56 colours released in September!!

Thanks and do let me know if you've passed through so I can make a return visit!!

World War Three has broken out in my Living Room!

....Teenagers eh! So thought I would make a tactical retreat and post the cards that we made on Saturday, when Alex, Kathleen and Lesley came to play!! (Oops see above!)

Alex
bought the components to make the Sympathy card all packaged in this delightful box - she's a dab hand with a craft knife!!

Lesley bought the template for the pram and and after much huffing and puffing on my part, 'cos I don't like cutting, I came up with this - and felt rather pleased with it!

Card for Bro-in-Law

Not gonna bore you with all my recent makes but did rather like this for my Lake District relation - he's just built a pond, sorry Alex, Lake, in the grounds of his new barn conversion and thought this was just him messing about on the water!!!

Well, Well., Well! I'm back

WEll what can I say - I just don't know where the time goes - well sadly, a lot of it goes at work! Still, I'm going to try and be a better blogger ( where have I heard that one!) and to start me off on the right foot, here is my first ever entry for this week's Sugar Bowl challenge which consisted of a sketch to use.

Promarkers for the colouring and Basic Grey Wisteria papers
